Coldpaw looked up with a sigh as he finished his new nest. He gazed around the den, eyes lingering whenever another apprentice entered his view. He sighed again, this time silently. As far as he knew, none of his friends from the nursery had arrived yet. Hopefully he could make some new friends here while he waited for them to get their ceremonies and new names. Until then, though, he was happy to just sit alone in the nest. And so he plopped down onto his haunches, sneezing as he did so. This was followed by a shiver, despite the fact the temperature in the den was completely fine. Coldpaw was indeed a fitting name.

EarthBlossom was strolling past when she heard the sneeze. She stopped dead and poked her large head into the den, daring not to enter in case she got stuck on her way out. "You ok? Need a medicine cat?" She asked warmly yet with an edge of concerne in her voice.

"Hm?" He asked, turning his green gaze onto the warrior. He laughed. "Oh, don't worry about me, I'm fine. I sneeze all the time, I'm not sick, I promise." He gave Earthblossom a reassuring smile then turned away, continuing to study the inside of the den. He hoped he hadn't distracted the warrior from her work, but if she checked on him, the white-furred tom assumed it was likely okay. He flicked silver ears and smoothed some ruffled fur on his head with a paw.

"You sure?" She asked. Her green eyes studied him for a moment and she lifted her nose slightly. "I can tell LionGrowl if you want. I think there's a herb for anti-sneezing..." The huge tabby smiled warmly at him and drew her head back from the doorway.

"Trust me, if herbs worked, I wouldn't be sneezing." He laughed. He wasn't quite sure why he was so cold all the time, but if it was fixable, he wouldn't be suffering from it. Besides, he didn't mind it much in the first place. "Don't worry about it, really." He swished a grey-tipped tail in dismissal of the issue as he finished up his grooming, laying down and tucking silver paws underneath his white chest.

The tabby rolled her eyes. "If you're sure." She said quietly and padded away, her huge paws acting like a tripod for her long legs. "The name's EarthBlossom by the way. Call me ifyou need anything." She called over her shoulder before sprinting swiftly away.

"I'll be sure to do that, Earthblossom!" He called back, poking his head out of the den to watch her go. Then he pulled back inside and looked around the den. It seemed quiet that day. Nothing could be done about it, he supposed.

Juniperpaw's amber eyes noticed another apprentice, who looked somewhat younger than her. She honestly hadn't been very social lately, but she planned to change that, starting with whoever this cat was. She padded over to him casually, and grinned. "Hey, I haven't seen you around before. I'm Juniperpaw, welcome to the den!" she said, flicking her cream tail against the leafed ground.

Coldpaw turned his white and silver head to look at this unfamiliar apprentice. This Juniperpaw seemed pretty friendly. He bared his small fangs in a smile and tilted his grey muzzle downwards in greeting. "Hi there! I'm Coldpaw, nice to meet you and thanks for the welcome!" His green eyes twinkled, the silver tip of his snow white tail twitching. The she-cat only seemed to be a bit older than himself. He hoped he'd get along with her.

As she watched the two apprentices, Sunsetpaw then remembered that she was really short on friends. And maybe a little chat wouldn't hurt anyone.
Trotting over to the two--Juniperaw and Coldpaw, she had overheard--she felt a bit awkward just randomly walking up to strangers. But, then again, she supposed it wasn't all bad. "Um, so I guess I'll join in the conversation too." she muttered with a shrug of her shoulders. "I'm Sunsetpaw. If you don't want me here, I can leave." she added.

"Hm?" Coldpaw mumbled questioningly, turning his jade green gaze towards the newcomer to the group. He grinned in greeting. "What? Nonsense! You can stay if you want, the more the merrier!" He purred his words, eyes shining warmly. "Sunsetpaw, is it? It's a pleasure." He bowed his white and silver head to the older apprentice.

Sunsetpaw stared awkwardly at the apprentice as he bowed his head to her. Okay then. She shrugged her shoulders, looking away, almost with disinterest. "Nice to meet you... too." she muttered.

The female seemed awkward, Coldpaw noticed. He was about to comment on it but was interrupted by a sneezing fit, lasting for about three sneezes before it finally subsided. He huffed in mild irritation. "Sorry about that. What was I going to say again?" He thought back, head inclined upwards, but it escaped his memory. "Ah, I don't know. Anyway, um, yeah, good to meet you both." He tilted his head. "What do you apprentices usually do for fun, anyway?"

Sunsetpaw took a step back when the apprentice started to sneeze, looking a bit ruffled to say the least. Now I know why he's called Coldpaw. She opened her mouth, about to say something, except he went on to ask about fun activities or something. She shrugged, deciding not to mention anything. "Not much, really, if not sent training or cleaning nests. Usually cats just do whatever they feel like in their free time."

"Hm, interesting!" He had noticed the other apprentice edge backwards while he was sneezing and held back an amused chuckle. "Though cleaning nests doesn't sound very fun..." It also sounded like something that would irritate his nose, which, in short, wouldn't be good. "But I guess we've gotta fulfil our duties as apprentices to become great warriors!"
