With his brother off doing CloudClan-knew-what, Adderkit was bored. It wasn't as if he had thoughts of apprenticeship to look forward to, either, seeing as he was only about three moons old. It'd still be ages before he got a mentor and started doing important stuff. So in the meantime, what was a kitten to do?
His answer was apparently laying on his back in the middle of camp and doing nothing. Well, the pale tom was staring at the grey sky, but he hardly supposed that counted as an activity. It was getting towards twilight and the rest of the Clan had been returning from their daily excursions. The chattering of countless cats probably would've grated if Adder didn't have damaged hearing; for him it was only a dull murmur in the background. A small benefit of his unfortunate circumstances.
The clouds were chaotic as he watched them. They shifted too fast for him to start guessing what they resembled. Except for this newest one, which was very low to the ground and seemed quite furry for a cloud. A low growl rumbled in the kitten's throat at the disruption.
"What."

Silverkit stared at Adderkit. What in the world was he doing? Was that mouse-brain simply going to lie there for the whole of twilight? Silverkit shook her head in puzzlement and padded closed to Adderkit. As she readied herself to pounce, a low growl came from the kit. "What." Silverkit almost fell off her paws in astonishment. She blinked again at the kit. 'Hi Adderkit, I was wondering what you were doing. Surely you don't mean to sit there for the whole of twilight? Come on, let's do something!"

Reluctantly, Adder rolled over and got to his paws, pelt looking more than a little unkempt. Silverkit seemed to have recovered from being startled, for now she was chattering on about something or another. The tabby didn't really care enough to listen closely.
"Slow down. Who are you and why do you know my name?" he interrupted with a glare. Had his brother gone and made friends with the entire nursery or something? It seemed like something that Viperkit would definitely do.

Silverkit was startled. Didn't the cat know her? After all, they did live in the same nursery. Well, if the cat wanted to glare at her, she would remain calm. It was always the simplest way to annoy other cats. "I'm Silverkit, and I know your name because I do make it a point to learn everyone's names. Anyway, what are you doing?"

Adderkit had reasons reasons as to why he didn't know every kit in the nursery. To start with, IceClan was big. There were definitely at least a hundred cats, more than a dozen being kittens. But more important, at least to him, was the fact that he just didn't care enough to learn the name of all these strangers. Why should he bother? Maybe that was his rogue blood talking, though.
The youngster bared his teeth slightly. "I was relaxing until you came stomping around," Adder responded accusatorially. It was days like this when he had to wonder why his mom made him grow up in this group of all places.

Silverkit almost broke her promise to herself to keep calm. That cat was so annoying! She was just trying to be friendly! Well, maybe she was trying too hard. She knew that she sometimes could be a little overenthusiastic about things. But that was no reason for him to snap at her! With a sigh, Silverkit mewed tiredly,"Well then, sorry. But you didn't have to snap like that!"
(More budding enemies I see...)

"Of course I did. You're still here," the kitten pointed out. "Don't you have someone else to bother?" Adder, for one, was not going to let his entire evening be ruined by some chatterbox. He turned his back on Silverkit and attempted to ignore her presence. Maybe she'd go away if he was lucky.
| Probably, yep. It's not hard to get Adder mad. |

Silverkit was highly annoyed. Didn't this cat have common decency? Well, she refused to back down that easily. She was done playing nice. "Well, I thought I would spend my day in your decidedly horrible company. And it'll stay that way, even if you disagree."

Adderkit's left ear swiveled backwards before flattening slightly. "No, it certainly will not." There was a firm edge to his tone now; anyone with common sense knew not to pester the adopted youngster. It never ended well.
Refusing to look at Silver, he got to his paws and then started trotting across camp.

Silverkit dropped her head in dismay. She would have loved to pursue the other cat and give him a piece of her mind, but something stopped her. Maybe I should wait for him to cool down a little. He seems really mad now. Sighing, Silverkit settled down under a convenient rock overhand and watched Adderkit warily.

The other kitten didn't seem to be pursuing him, but he could feel her gaze on the back of his neck. He let his fur bristle just a bit in annoyance. Seeking refuge, he disappeared behind a den and flopped down in the long evening shadows. Perhaps he would be able to relax here.
| I'd like to wrap this thread up since they're both apprentices now. |

(Sure!)
Silverkit looked on as Adderkit walked behind a den. He seemed content to leave her. Sighing softly, she gave up on Adderkit as a lost cause and walked back to the nursery.
