Well, now he was an apprentice. So this was new. At this point in time the sleek red-brown tom was carrying a bundle of moss in his jaws, his pale yellow-green gaze directed forward. Directly towards the den he would be calling home for the next few moons.
It was at this point he realized how little friends he had, basically none at all besides Birdpaw, since they had both been apprenticed around the same time. Now he guessed it was time to make some new ones. There was, though, one apprentice he could remember talking to ages before. Redpaw was it? Yeah, he would most definitely be around at some point.
Shrugging the thought off he squeezed into the den, scanning for any open area until he picked one out in the far corner. There was probably some sort of leak there... but at this point he didn't care too much. All he wanted to do with get settled in. So wit that he weaved through the other apprentice's nests with an agile ease before he began laying out the fresh bedding. Not noticing another presence in the den behind him. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

Content after a having eaten a rather large vole, Redpaw wandered into the apprentices' den, looking forward to a grooming and possibly a quick nap before doing any other apprentice duties. Though he much preferred the freedom that came with apprenticeship, he had found out that in the rigors of training, his long, glossy fur was easily dirtied, and in order to maintain even a semblance of cleanliness, he had to groom for far longer than the average short-furred FireClanner. As he wove his way toward his nest to begin the long process, he realized there was a familiar cat in the den, one he hadn't seen since he was a kit. "Come here often?" he called, his eyes as mischievous as ever, a grin plastered on his face at his own cheesy line, as he changed course to talk to Tidekit- or, Tidepaw, now, he supposed.

Tidepaw's attention was quickly drawn away as a familiar voice made his ears perk with attentiveness. "Why if it isn't Redpaw." He purred, turning around to face the tom who was very much of the same color of his own pelt. Redpaw, who he had known as Redkit was an older tom than himself, didn't matter much to Tidepaw. Age was no difference to him until he reached the age of an elder.
"And nah man, just got here actually." The red-brown tom purred, his tail flicking with amusement as he added the smart comment. "Frankly, I'm just happy to be out of that stinking den."
There were basically too many milk and kit smells for any cat to be comfortable. "How you been?" | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

"Oh, I know how you feel," he replied, stopping just short of the other tom and curling his tail around his forepaws as he sat. "And I've been great; fighting off foxes single-pawed, chasing off rogues- ya know, normal apprentice stuff," Redpaw added, his blue gaze flashing with amusement and mischief in equal parts as he did so, his grin changing into a lopsided smirk at his ridiculous statement. "And what about you? Aren't you just ecstatic to see me again?" he asked, a hint of mischievous flirtation in his voice. "Oh, and I'm sure you're loving training, as well," he added, as though it were an afterthought.

Tidepaw shrugged and continued to answering the other tom's questions as he sat down before him. Letting his long and drawn out tail lay out behind him. "Well i was just assigned to Foxclaw." He started, not looking Redpaw directly in the eye but rather letting his gaze wonder around the den. "But we have yet to start training."
Frankly, Tidepaw didn't even care about the training part. But the part where he would finally be getting out of the camp. Being a kit he had never been allowed to venture far from the nursery. So getting out into the territory was a whole new ballgame. Although, not like he hadn't seen some of it already. The clan was located on a rolling plain, there we basically grass, grass, and more grass.
"What about you, how's your training been going?" He mewed, tilting his head to one side as he had finally brought himself to look Redpaw directly in the face. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

"It has been torturous, my friend," Redpaw replied, sighing dramatically as he did so. "Waking up at the unholiest of hours, training with nearly no rest..." he trailed off, gazing to where he supposed the sun would be if there weren't the thick ceiling of the den in the way. Then he turned back toward Tidekit, meeting the other tom's gaze, and purred. "But really, not bad. We haven't done too much just yet, honestly." The long-furred tom sighed again, this time without a trace of exaggerated emotion. "I do wish I could explore a bit more, but I suppose that will come with time," he said, and his good-natured smile returned.

Tidepaw yawned and shrugged, still having yet to actually get out into the territory. It wasn't like he hadn't already seen a vast majority of it to begin with. Fireclan was a plain he practically had already seen half of the territory from the camp. But at this point, the part he really wanted to explore was around the border. Where the clan's met, that was were he wanted to go.
"Guessing you have seen the borders then?" He mewed, tilting his head to the left. "And have you seen any cats from the other clans?"

"Heh, no, I haven't met any other cats," Redpaw admitted, albeit a little sheepishly. "I have, however, seen the borders," he declared, his usual confidence once again taking hold. "They're much more interesting than the rest of the territory, trust me," he added, thinking back to the broad forest of TreeClan and the sweeping majesty of IceClan's mountain home. "I think IceClan's got the most impressive land, but maybe that's just me. So do you know when you'll be able to start training?" he asked, his tone curious, and mischief once again danced through his eyes as he added, "I could teach you some things, if you'd like," and a false tone of superiority entered his voice as he did.

The Iceclan border, yeah that was the one with the mountainous terrain. That was most definitely an impressive piece of land. He was surprised cats could live in such a place. Their pelts had to be thick along with great jumping abilities. Fireclan was fast, but their jumping wouldn't be nearly as good as a Iceclan cat.
Upon hearing the tom speak up about training him in the small things Tidepaw jumped on the chance. "That'd be cool." He mewed, keeping his cool although his voice crackled with excitement. "Not exactly when I'll be getting into training so let's do it." | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

Surprise flashed momentarily across Redpaw's face; he hadn't expected Tidepaw to take him seriously. Then his good humor returned, and a grin appeared once again. "Well, okay then. I only know a few hunting crouches, and just one fighting stance," he warned, standing again to stretch, and sighed inwardly; his grooming would have to wait. "So, what would you like to learn first?"

The tom thought for a minute, looking towards a corner of the den rather than looking directly at his apprentice friend. Well, he guessed hunting would be coming before fighting training wise... so it was probably best to learn what was most relevant to his up and coming training session.
"I think the hunting crouch should do." He mewed, looking towards the entrance now and flicking his ear. "Shall we head outside then? Might be a tad bit difficult to do such things in a den." | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

Instead of replying, Redpaw stood and cantered toward the exit, his grin falling from his mouth, though his good mood was evident in the way he walked, and the look of mischief that was so common as to be a feature in and of itself still lurked in his otherwise icy blue gaze. "So," he called out as he left the shade of the nursery, "just make sure you watch. It really isn't that hard to get down." Settling into a crouch, he held himself just above the ground, his long fur brushing the dusty earth. Making sure his tail was completely still, he found his target; a stray leaf, rather uncommon on the FireClan prairie. Taking a moment to prepare, making sure he balanced his weight over all four paws, he leapt, using his hind legs to propel himself, and landed squarely on top of the leaf, his forepaws taking the brunt of his weight and absorbing the shock by spreading ever so slightly apart. The red-furred tom sighed quietly in relief; he'd actually learned the crouch by observing other apprentices, though it seemed he had it down well enough. "I know it might be daunting to try and match my grace," Redpaw said, turning to meet Tidepaw's gaze with a grin, "but I'm sure you can do the crouch."

Tidepaw watched intently, placing his every move and locking it away inside his head. If there was one thing he was good at it was mimicking. So if his mentors, whether it be several of them or just one were great at stalking, hunting and fighting. He would be the same. His mind was much like a blueprint. Laying out anything he had seen or heard, they then stuck to him like glue. It was both a blessing and a curse.
As Redpaw finishing Tidepaw nodded off to him, finding the leaf again and locking in on it. As if it was a bird that was about to take flight at any second. With that in mind he dropped down, his stomach only a mouse-length from the ground. No fur brushed due to his short pelt as he stalked forward, his tail straight out behind him and swiping over the soil. Shaking his haunches he pounced, sinking his claws into the leaf and pinning it to the ground. Picking it up in his teeth he turned back to Redpaw and tilted his rusty colored head. Searching his icy blues for approval. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

Though he was slightly shocked that Tidepaw had been able to pick up the crouch as easily as he had, Redpaw didn't let it show, instead flashing the other tom a smile as his gaze glimmered with approval. "That was good! It took me, like, three tries to get that; I'm impressed," he remarked, standing once again to walk over to his friend. "If you want, I could show you some more moves. That is, if you think you'll need them," he added.

Tidepaw purred and smirked, "I think I'll need all I can get." His ear flicked away a fly as he sat down before the other apprentice to continue the conversation.
"I would think each crouch would be different correct?" He mewed, his voice calm and steady. "If you are out in the open there would be no point. But if there is a few trees and bushes, they would be great cover and would require another technique."
The tom flicked his tail and unsheathed his claws again, licking the dirt away that he had just covered them in. "Just a thought." | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |
