Sandkit sniffed the air using her weak but sharpish sense of smell to see if there was anyone outside. 'Momma isn't awake so maybe I could explore the camp' She thought.
Suddenly Flamepath's warning came back to her mind. She looked at her paws and closed her eyes. She couldn't let her deputy down. Maybe she should wait for dawn and ask Flamepathor Ratpaw to show me around the camp. Ratpaw was a very kind cat and he would most likely enjoy showing me around.
Sandkit growled loudly in frustration as she wanted to explore but she didn't want to disobey her deputies orders.

Frostkit bounded up to Sandkit. They had met somewhere a few days ago, though Frostkit had forgotten the incident. She wondered what Sandkit was waiting for. She looked quite torn and was thinking about something. Frostkit flinched as the other kit growled suddenly.
"Hi Sandkit! What's wrong? Ants in your pelt?"

Sandkit rose her head and looked at Frostkit. She had seen the kit a few days ago. They were den mates but they never truly hung out. "Oh hi Frostkit." Sandkit meowed. "Haha no just wish I was old enough to explore camp or the territory." She sighed lying down now.

Frostkit sighed too. "I know! It's so boring here in camp!" She was normally a quiet, content kit, but the thought of six moons in this nursery was just too much. She wanted to get out into the territory and explore!
"Well, I suppose that maybe we could explore camp? I doubt we'll get into much trouble for that. We're still in camp, after all. Most kits explore it at some point. And we could always ask a queen to show us around the territory." Frostkit had heard of some kit excursions led by the queens to give the kits something to do. She wondered if any queen could be persuaded to do one now.

Sandkit looked at the rock next to her and then thought to herself. "You are right, we could explore around camp. But we'd have to be very quiet" Sandkit meowed getting down in to a hunters crouch. She was pretty sure Frostkit might not know what she is doing. "This is a hunters crouch. You know that right?" Sandkit asked Politely.
She stayed in the position.

Frostkit looked on as Sandkit crouched in what Frostkit had been told was the hunter's crouch. She had never really learnt any hunting moves, so she watched carefully as Sandkit moved into the position.
Attempting to copy Sandkit, she crouched down and glanced back at the other kit, making sure to keep her tail straight and ears flat against her head. This could be useful in her apprenticeship!
Being careful to set her paws down gently, she flicked an ear at Sandkit and mewed, "You ready? Let's go!"

Sandkit was impressed and proud that she had taught Frostkit this move as she nodded and started stalking forward. "Watch out for thorns or sharp rocks. I know tbe warriors usually clean them up but still." Sandkit instructed.

Frostkit nodded and followed the other kit out of the den. Glancing around at her first sight of the camp, she was overwhelemd by the suddenly stronger scents of other cats, and the sheer level of activity in the camp. Wow! Will I be part of this when I grow up? I sure hope so.
Being careful to keep to the shadows, she whispered to Sandkit,"So, where would you like to go?"

"Well we could probably meet some apprentice." Sandkit thought and the in her head. 'And see Ratpaw' she thought. She missed the young apprentice.

Frostkit heard Sandkit's reply and started padding to the direction she assumed the apprentices' den was in. She hadn't met any apprentice yet, and she hoped that she could make some friends soon.
Walking into the den, she mewed softly,"Hi, anyone there?" She didn't want to yowl, for fear that she might alert the clan to their presence here.

'Hi, anyone there?
Maybe Ratpaw will be there. He was a great friend.' Ratpaw was in fact, in the apprentices' den resting from his long day with Flamepath. He did not expect to learn this much in such a short duration of time!
"Sandkit!" The apprentice walked up to his younger friend and dipped his head before noticing the even younger cat. He blinked. Was this Sandkit's friend. "Hi. Who are you?"

"Hi Ratpaw! Im great! This is Frostkit." Sandkit said happily placing her tail on Frostkit's shoulder. After dipping her head respectfully to Ratpaw.
"How is apprenticeship going?" Sandkit then asked. She was close to Ratpaw's height. Sandkit was really excited for when she would be one and she wanted to know what it will be like.

Sandkit would actually be bigger than Ratpaw by now since he was born the runt of his litter.<3
Frostkit. Ratpaw gave the kitten a smile before getting a question from Sandkit. "It's really fun, but also tiring! You two actually just woke me up from my nap. Did you two want something?"

"Oh Im so sorry, Ratpaw!" Sandkit was sorry for waking her friend. "We were bored and were exploring the camp." Sandkit dipped her head.
