Hailpaw was made an apprentice not too long ago, and she quickly realized how different it was from kit-life. Most of all it was a lot less boring. I wonder what the kits are doing right now. I have free time... Maybe I'll play a game with one of them, or go visit Webkit. She thought, sniffing the air and following the familiar smell to the nursery. She stopped at the entrance and sat down. "Hellooo?"

"Hi" Sandkit said padding out of her nest. Sandkit quick picked off the moss from her pelt and then recognized her friend, Hailpaw who was made an apprentice a few moons ago.
She looked to see the apprentice and smiled. "Hey Hailpaw." She the began grooming her pelt.

Hailpaw was surprised to find that this kit knew her name. She assumed they'd gotten it from the ceremony. "Hi, Sandkit...?" She meowed, hoping the name was correct. She'd heard it a number of times in the nursery, and it matched with the cat's scent. "What are you up to?"

"Yep thats my name!" Sandkit squeaked with joy and then licked her paw. "Nothing much I was just looking for something to do...." Sandkit rambled but then looked up at Hailpaw. Sandkit's chest fur was puffing out in embarrassment.

Hailpaw smiled as she continued to talk. "That's cool." She tilted her head as Sandkit's voice suddenly stopped. "Is something wrong? I don't mind you rambling. I like listening." She hoped nothing was wrong. What if there was a badger standing right behind her? Hailpaw flinched at the thought.

"Oh..ok" Sandpaw said softly. "Who is your mentor? I have Darkheart." She said thinking about her awesome mentor.

"My mentor is Scarletfire." There was a slight purr in her voice. Just thinking of the she-cat made her happy. She was given such a great mentor. "Is Darkheart nice?" Someone with the name 'Darkheart' seems like they'd be the opposite of nice.
