Viperkit padded into camp. He was still incredibly jealous that Adderpaw was an apprentice. He needed to hurry up himself! Because he was supposed to be an apprentice too. Adderpaw had to be somewhere right now and Viperkit was gonna look for him. "Adderpaw!?" He called, running around camp saying his name.
Maybe he'd find him!

A noncommittal grunt could be heard from the apprentices' den. Adderpaw padded out, looking grumpy and rather tired - he'd been planning a nap, as Thornfrost wasn't training him today. Apparently sleep would have to wait.
The pale tabby quietly prowled behind his brother and then swatted lightly at Viper's tail, hoping to catch him by surprise. Then again… his stealth probably wasn't the best since he couldn't hear how much noise he was making. Oh well.

Viperkit spun around, startled and hissed at what he thought was a stranger. When he noticed his brother he flicked an ear and lashed his tail hostally but playfully. "What was that for, you big meanie? I wasn't looking!" He groaned in annoyance. Viperkit sat down and blinked at the grumpy apprentice.
"Haha, how's training?" He teased. "You don't look to be in good spirits today." He noted that Adderpaw looked a bit crabby, maybe. Although.. that seemed typical.

A tiny grin tugged at one corner of Adder's muzzle. "That's the point," he told Viper smugly. "I think you're getting soft - Dad was always reminding us to be vigilant." Even after several moons spent in the Clans, it was clear that Adderpaw had stuck to his rogue roots.
He sat down and curled his long tail over his paws. "Thornfrost doesn't make it easy. I don't know how he's always so eager to try teaching me - aren't older cats supposed to be tired all the time? That mean elder usually is."

"Ah! Maybe they've plagued me with some sort of disease." He hissed at literally nothing. "Stupid Clanners." He spat. He remembered the exact thing Adderpaw brought up, and with it Viperkit nodded. He agreed, he needed to be more wary of things.
"I think old cats are, yes. They probably have something that activates them at a certain age to become cranky and mean." Viperkit hadn't encountered the elder, and he was glad about that. "Ha.. But I won't get like that, ever!" He exclaimed.

The other ex-rogue nodded. "They're always trying to get us to follow their ways. But I'm sure not listening," he half-boasted. Some of the other cats who hadn't been born in IceClan seemed all too eager to conform. Adder wasn't too sure he understood that. Personally, he wasn't going to let himself forget what his parents had taught.
"Oldies are weird. We're gonna be just like this forever," Adderpaw agreed.

"Nor I!" He agreed. It was easy for the IceClanners to listen and do as they were told, but for them, who were born outsiders, it wasn't. They had their own way of doing things and Viperkit had no intention of converting to some airheaded IceClanner!
"Hmph..! True. I don't plan on changing! They can't make me." He said irritably. "We ever gonna leave this place?" He asked.

"One day," the pale brown tom promised. "When we're both warriors, we should go visit Dad and get him to teach us more stuff. Then eventually we'll be out of here for good. They can't stop us."

"I hope!" He gasped. "Yes! He'll teach us way more useful things. No offense, or rather all the offense to these IceClanners, but their training tactics seem dumb.. From what I've heard." He nodded in agreement with his brother. "I'm sure dad will be glad we'll get out of here. I wonder what his thoughts are about us being here."

Adder twitched his ears. "Mhm. Thornfrost tries to show me things but it's all useless. He hasn't even started on combat yet. What sort of cats don't know how to fight by the time they're nearly adults?" he scoffed.
"I bet he doesn't like it. Mom didn't ask him when she took us away."

"You're kidding!" He seemed shocked that Adderpaw hadn't even learned how to fight yet. "At least you're getting trained.." He muttered. "The queens are so annoying and clingy. Help me." He hissed. He did not like being in the nursery, not at all. "I hate being in that darned place alone."
He nodded in agreement, sighing. "I still wonder why she even brought us here in the first place.. Dumb idea."

"Want me to give them something else to focus on?" the apprentice asked innocently. He'd heard of enough pranks from the other apprentices by now - perhaps he could put thorns in the queens' bedding, or fill the nursery with fire ants. Adder wiggled a catlike eyebrow. He wouldn't do anything if Viper didn't want him to, but it did seem like a golden opportunity.

"Haha, yes! What should we do? Please can we make them very mad? I'd like to see that." He snickered, Viper seemed to have no disagreement with his brother's idea. Viperkit shared much alike to his brother a dislike for this Clan. He didn't also like being treated like this. Being told by three queens to go basically no where was no fun at all.
"Let's do it."

ADDERPAW OF ICECLAN Adderpaw considered this for a moment. He still liked the idea of fire ants, but upon second thought, how would that work? Surely the ants would just bite him as he was trying to bring them to the nursery. Not really worth it.
Thorns wouldn't be any good either. Well… they might, except he'd already stuck thorns in Maplefrost's nest a few days ago. The old coot probably knew it was him; it'd be too obvious if the same thing happened in the nursery. Which left what?
A devious grin spread across his muzzle. "What if we put a bunch of damp moss in their nests? They'd get all wet when they tried to sleep, and then they'd have to go out and fetch replacement moss while tired. I bet they'd be super cranky. Whatcha think?"
