Rift was bored. The cats in DeathClan never seemed to do anything! So she had decided to take a look around the prairie. It brought back old memories of unacceptance, but that was beyond the point. Rift wanted to explore, and that is what she was doing. Then she looked up, and saw a cat.

Dyre was stalking a rabbit when she smelled a DeathClan cat. That was weird. Although DeathClan cats were allowed to come here, they rarely did. Dyre sighed. The rabbit would have to wait. Addressing this threat was more important. "What is a DeathClan cat doing around here?" Dyre asked.

"What am I doing here, you ask? There is never anything to do in DeathClan, so I came here to socialize." Rift replied to Dyre. Of course, that wasn't entirely true. She didn't know much about DeathClan, just that it was ferocious and deadly. She really had come here to learn more.

There was something fishy about this cat. She didn't seem like the "talk to every cat she meets cat." She must want something... Dyre knew quite a bit about DeathClan, she had always been curious about its lifestyle. Not that she wanted to join. There ways were so, spread apart. This cat though, seemed to be a new DeathClan cat. She still smelled a bit rogue. "You must be new to DeathClan. I bet you came here for some information about it. They don't exactly have a welcoming committee."

That was weird. It almost felt like Dyre had read her thoughts. "Yes, I an looking for some information. What do you know?" Rift asked. Hopefully Drought wasn't near here. She didn't want to be accused of being traitorous.

Dyre loved being right. So she was glad when Rift said she was looking for information. "I can tell you a lot. DeathClan used to be highly feared upon all of the clans. Once they took territory from FireClan. They only respect the Darkpool, unlike the true clans who believe in CloudClan. DeathClan used to have a much different system of leadership then it does now. Drought wasn't always leader. Before that, there was a leader, but he was not in complete control. There was a group of elites. They, I think, were like second in command. Especially Scarlet. They also trained the new recruits, like you. They don't do that anymore. Well, they might start doing it again. I've heard rumors..." With that, Dyre finished her long speech about DeathClan history. There was more, she was sure of it. But, information was scare upon the rogues and loners. That was all she had gathered.

Rift listened intently to Dyre's information. Some of it she knew, but a lot of it she didn't. Rift decided she had made the right choice in joining DeathClan. It would make an interesting life, and death. Although Dyre had not talked about the Darkpool, Rift knew exactly what it was. "Thank you so much, Dyre. I learned a lot. I should probably get going though, otherwise Drought might notice my absence."

"Wait! Before you go, can you tell me about DeathClan right now?" Dyre exclaimed. She needed to know as much as possible. Her job in life was to inform cats, and for that, she needed knowledge.

Rift sighed. Of course this cat wanted information. She couldn't give anything planning- wise away, but, she could give general knowledge away. "DeathClan currently does not have that many members. There are peasant members, the low members, royalty members, the trusted members, and younglings, like me, that are 12 moons old or younger. There are also rumors of DeathClan splitting up into smaller groups, but no one is quite sure about anything. That's about all I know."

"Thank you. Maybe I will see you again someday. If you ever have questions about anything, just ask me. You will normally find me in the plains, but I travel all over the place. Goodbye." Dyre smiled and then slowly walked away. She had made a friend, a friend that was in DeathClan. That could be useful one day.

"Goodbye!" Rift called to Dyre. This cat could be very helpful for DeathClan recruiting. She seemed to know a lot about, well a lot about a lot. Maybe rogues and loners aren't so bad after all, if you are nice to them. Rift sighed, and walked back to DeathClan territory.
