Tumbling. [open]

Sunkit laughed. Apparently Marshkit was ticklish, since he was laughing. "Yes I found you. I'll hide now! Remember to count to 30!" Sunkit meowed. Then she started thinking about where to hide. At the entrance of the nursery was a very small tunnel. She could grab some moss from there and stick it over her. She could also leave a fake scent trail to the far corner or the nursery, cover up her scent with the moss, and then drag the moss over to the tunnel. That's what she decided to do.

Marshkit rolled off his back and onto his white paws, and stood. He had no clue what Sunkit had in mind for her hiding place, but he had no plans to give in and not find her. He nodded to what she said, a smile still on his face. Marshkit may have messed up, but it was still fun to play this little game nonetheless. Marshkit turned himself towards the corner of the nursery, laying down and covering his eyes to make sure he didn't peak. He of course wasn't going to start yet, Sunkit had warned him after all, so she to deserved a warning. "You ready?" Marshkit meowed, not looking behind him all the while. While he waited for her answer, his mind began thinking of where she would hide, but nothing came to mind. She was little bit bigger than him, and they were both almost apprentices, so what kind of hiding places could be left? His tail silently swayed as he went into deep thought on where she would hide herself. His black ears remained pricked, waiting for confirmation to start counting.

"Yeah I'm ready, start counting!" As Sunpaw waited for Marshkit to start, she planned out how many seconds each part of here plan would take. The first 6 seconds should be throwing Marshkit off with a scent. Then the next 13 seconds should be taken disguising her scent, picks up some moss, and running to the tunnel. The last 11 seconds should be taken hiding in the tunnel with moss.

Quietly, Marshkit began to count after Sunkit said she was ready to begin. He counted each number out loud, making sure that no matter where she was, he could hear him. His ears pricked, just picking up a few of her footfalls, but it was mostly muffled. Marshkit strained his ears, trying his best to hear more of the noises, but sometimes the screeching wind would drown the out the sounds. Once he got to thirty, he took his paws off of his eyes and opened them so he could begin his search. His nose began to go into action, finding the scent trail immediately, but there was something wrong. Marshkit had remembered the sounds going in a different direction, not the one that the trail provided. However, there was one problem about sounds, it could've been another kit wandering in that direction, rather than Sunkit. With that in mind, Marshkit decided to quickly follow the scent trail before he dared to try and track down where the sounds came from. He began to smell the air, opening his mouth to taste the flow of scents that occupied the nursery. He followed the fake scent trail, hoping to find the bronze-gold tabby that had gone off to hide.

Sunkit didn't dare take a glance to see where Marshkit was, so she waited patiently, counting as each second went by. She hoped that Marshkit wouldn't think about checking in the entrance to the nursery. She also hoped that he hadn't caught her footsteps. As she thought, she counted 7 seconds.

Marshkit was quick as he followed the fake scent trail towards its' destination, which took his a decent length away from where Sunkit was actually hiding. Upon getting to the end, he began tasting for more scents, but there were no more scents to be found around that area. Marshkit's yellow eyes scanned the area of which the trail had ended, looking for anything around of place. His paws carefully and gently jabbed into the moss around the area, just in case Sunkit tried to copy him, but to no avail. Marshkit's eyes widened with realization at what had just happened. "She tricked me!" Marshkit muttered to himself, but he had to admit, he was impressed that she did that so quickly. That was when he decided to figure out where the sound may have went instead. He turned away from where the scent trail had ended, heading off a little bit closer to the nursery's entrance. Naturally, he was a few tail lengths away from the entrance itself, mostly because the wind had muted most of the noise. He began to taste the air, trying to find a hint of Sunkit's whereabouts, but scented nothing. Whatever Sunkit had done, it was certainly clever and definitely done speedily. That was when Marshkit decided to rely on his eyes if he couldn't find her by looking for her scent.

Sunkit, crouching down with moss over herself in the entrance, listened as Marshkit footsteps landed near her hiding place. Had Marshkit picked up on something, or was he just wandering looking for clues? Nonetheless, Sunkit continued counting. 10... 11... 12... 13... 14... 15... 16...

With observant eyes, Marshkit recorded everything in the nursery, looking for anything that could lead him to Sunkit. His yellow eyes glanced at one corner of the nursery to the next. Ever so silently, his claws slid out, scratching at the moss below his paws in an impatient manner. Marshkit wasn't completely sure where Sunkit could be hiding, but she had to be somewhere in this nursery and he was sure he would find where. His eyes searched, until he found the remains of what had to be someone taking pieces of moss from the padding. Quickly, Marshkit made his way over to it and tried to scent the air, which lead him to somewhere nearby which was rich with Sunkit's scent. That was when it became clear to Marshkit that Sunkit had hid her scent moments prior to hiding. He turned, looking back towards the entrance, his eyes checking the ground of the nursery in a more thorough manner. That was when he found the one thing that could bring him along the path to victory. A trail of tiny moss bits that could've fallen from the clump Sunkit had used to hide.

These clumps went in the direction Marshkit had last heard the small noises, so he followed the trail in hopes of finding Sunkit.

As Marshkit was wandering around the nursery trying to figure find Sunkit, Sunkit continued counting. There was not much more to do then that. 18... 19... 20... 21... 22... 23... 24...

Marshkit eventually got closer to where the golden-bronze kit had gone off to hide. His observant eyes followed the trail of moss and the tiny indents the best they could. He moved as silent as a shadow, mostly because his pace was a slow walk. The last thing Marshkit wanted to do was overlook a piece of evidence that was on the trail and end up not finding Sunkit at all. His eyes drifted upwards, where he saw a small bundle of moss that stuck out at the edge of the nursery. Upon seeing it, Marshkit bursted forward into a dead sprint. He looked at the moss, then took one last look around. This had to be something, some sort of hint to where Sunkit could've gone. He took one cautious paw and began to move the moss away from the hole, hoping that maybe he had won the game. Marshkit's eyes stared at the bundle, hoping to catch a glimpse of Sunkit's fur or of a hint to her location.

As soon as Sunkit counted 25, Marshkit began to pull up moss where she was hiding. That didn't matter though, because she had found Marshkit in 24 seconds, which meant she had won! She decided to wait until Marshkit found her, however, as she wanted to see how much longer Marshkit would take.

Marshkit continued scooping out clumps of moss, trying to get to the end of it all. The moss was soft, and worked to remove the moss from the tunnel so he could get to the "prize". His eyes scanned each time he removed another clump of moss, making sure that he didn't hurt Sunkit if she was in there. Silently, his tail swayed back and forth with anticipation and hope that he may have finally found the she-kit that had hid herself so cleverly. That was when he saw it, golden-bronze fur, unless she left a fake fur tuft in that small amount of time, it had to be her. "Found you!" Marshkit called, being rather loud for a nursery voice. A smile was upon the tuxedo tom's face, keeping his 24 seconds into account. At this point, Marshkit wasn't sure how long Sunkit had been hidden, but he really hoped it wasn't as long as his time. Marshkit's eyes glanced outside for a second, and he saw that it was dark, which meant it was almost time for bed. He dismissed it, knowing that the game would be over shortly and they could hustle off to bed.

Sunkit laughed as Marshkit prodded him. "Hey! Stop poking me!" Sunkit meowed. Then she remembered her time. "I got 25 seconds!" Sunkit was pretty sure she won, but she couldn't quite remember Marshkit's time, so she wasn't sure. "What was your time?" she meowed. Then she undug herself from the moss, and looked up at the sky. Uh oh. It was almost time to go to bed.

The laughter only further confirmed that Marshkit was successful in finding Sunkit, which made his smile broaden. That was when Sunkit told him to quit with the prodding. The black and white tuxedo kit backed up from the tunnel, making sure to give Sunkit space to get out of the tunnel. Once the golden-bronze kit stated her time, Marshkt froze in surprise, Sunkit had beaten him by one second. She asked for his time while she made her way out of the moss. "I can't believe it. My time was 24, you won by one second!" Marshkit meowed, his voice a bit loud for inside the nursery. His yellow eyes watched Sunkit for a few moments before glancing outside, where it was getting rather dark. The very idea of night made the tuxedo tom yawn, and just then, Marshkit realized just how tired he was. "Well, I think it is time for bed." Marshkit meowed, with a quiet sigh.

[Sunpaw]

So, Marshkit saw how late it was also. "Well, goodnight!" Sunkit meowed. Without further ado, she padded off to her nest and got settled.
