Sandpaw was happy about this. "Silentstep is a great mentor." She meowed aloud and sat down looking for her new mentor. 'Oh Sprucepaw....hes not training with me.' She thought.

Frostkit smiled happily as the ceremony started. It certainly did seem about time, and she was eager to finally start her training. Hearing her name called first, she padded solemnly towards her mentor and touched noses with her. Ivystem. She didn't know her mentor, for they had never met, but she hoped that Ivystem would be a good mentor, teaching her all that she needed to know. She had faith in the experienced warrior. "Ivystem, I'm honoured to be training under you." She meowed softly. Listening to the rest of the ceremony, she heard both Sandpaw and Sprucepaw receive mentors. It would be disappointing for Sandpaw, certainly, to be still an apprentice. But then again, her mentor wasn't really around anymore. Silentstep was a good replacement, wise and warrior-like. She mentally decided to congratulate Sandpaw and Sprucepaw later. In the back of her mind, Frostpaw briefly recalled Ivystem being named as Larkpaw's mentor long ago. What happened? Why are we switching mentors? Shrugging, she decided to accept it and maybe ask Larkpaw about it later.

I dipped my head in acknowledgement, though I started inwardly when I heard my name called, not once, but twice. Sprucepaw and Larkpaw. It would certainly be a challenge, handling two apprentices at once, but I didn't mind. I looked to the front of the crowd, where the new apprentices and old apprentices with new mentors were. While I wasn't completely sure which ones were my apprentices, I walked to the front anyway. I hoped that both of them would be ready to train.
[sorry short post, i took the PSAT today and it fried my brain]

Sprucepaw walked through the crowd meekly stopping at a cat who he assumed to be his mentor. "I'm sprucepaw." He said softly. "Its nice to meet you Dapple... Dapplecloud, i think?" he said excited about training but nervous about what his mentor would be like.

So, Ivystem had three apprentices now. She was neutral to the idea. At least they'd give her something to do. She padded up to Frostpaw, bending down slightly to touch noses. This apprentice seemed polite enough. Calm, too. She wasn't like quiet little Larkpaw or loud and obnoxious Tawnypaw. Maybe Ivystem would actually like this apprentice.
She gave Frostpaw a nod. "Be up before sunrise tomorrow morning. You can eat breakfast if you want, but be quick about it. I won't be waiting for you." And with that she walked off, chanting the names with the rest of the clan.

There was another ceremony, this one of which he guessed was his own due to his approximate age of six moons. And after Frostpaw's name was called Webpaw's soon followed. Sighing he got to his paws, his dark ginger tabby coat sleek and short. Eyes a shade of brilliant blue, these eyes of which were now sorting through the crowd looking for the senior warrior known as Silentstep.
He had met the she-cat once in the nursery, she was a temporary queen. Only tending to her kits and the others for about a moon. She seemed experienced enough and definitely had plenty of stories to tell along the way. Notes • Silentstep

Frostpaw nodded at Ivystem, making a mental resolution to indeed be up early. She wanted to get the best possible start on her training, and also on her relationship with her mentor. Seeing that Ivystem was walking away, Frostpaw decided to take the opportunity to congratulate Sprucepaw and just talk to Sandpaw. She decided to go to Sandpaw first, and comfort her if need be. "Hi Sandpaw, congratulations on getting a new mentor! Silentstep is an amazing warrior, and you'll be taught well, I'm sure."

"Thanks Frostpaw. Ivystem is a good mentor too." She meowed politely. (Um Cloverstar i think both Silentstep and Darkheart are inactive.)

Frostpaw smiled at Sandpaw. Nodding in agreement, she recalled her times with Silentstep. She hadn't spoken to the past queen for a long time, but in that one moment where she had listened to the queen's stories, she had realised just how insightful and mature the queen was. She had experienced so many hardships that it was incredible she was still so kind and sweet. "Well, good luck with her!" Frostpaw mewed, moving away to settle into her new den.
