Buncha Newbies (P)

[Otterpaw]

Don't get him wrong- Otterpaw was excited for new apprentices. But... there were so many.. and Otterpaw had been training for a while. Would they get in the way? He hoped not. Looking over the new nests, he smiled half-heartedly and turned to his denmate, Hazepaw . "Hazepaw, what do you think about the new apprentices?" he asked.

[Hazepaw]

Hazepaw, who had literally been right next to him but had paid close to zero attention, turned to him and gave a confused look until he remembered what Otterpaw had been doing for the past few minutes. "I'm not sure. They're just like us if you want to full on truth, but I have nothing against them so I can't really complain." Hazepaw said, giving the blatant fact that he probably didn't care about the new apprentices as long as they didn't have any fights or problems with him, he'd let bygones be bygones.

[Otterpaw]

"But they're like..." he wrinkled his nose, thinking about what to say without being hurtful or offensive. "They're... young..?" he said. "What if they do fight, anyway? That'd get obnoxious.."

[Hazepaw]

"Well, that's what we're here for." Hazepaw said with a small chuckle, "We get them to stop fighting or they can sleep outside of the den, because there are more than just them that sleep in here." He commented, actually seeming to be leading on with a joke for once in his life, he felt oddly proud that he did that.

[Otterpaw]

Otterpaw pursed his kitty lips, unable to respond. "I guess..." he murmured. Now it seemed as if he was trying to find something wrong with new apprentices. "So, how's Dappledleaf treating you?" Otterpaw asked, changing the subject cheerfully.

[Hazepaw]

"Well she's both of our mentors, so I hope she's not treating us differently." Hazepaw proclaimed with a grin, he was on a roll today.

[Otterpaw]

Otterpaw narrowed his eyes, unamused. "Really dude? That wasn't even funny!" he chuckled.

[Hazepaw]

"If it wasn't that funny then why are you chuckling?" Hazepaw asked with a cheeky grin before just cuffing Otterpaw's ear, "She's been treating me okay, I just don't think she's too accepting of my fear of the water." He said blatantly, hoping that Dappledleaf couldn't hear him as that would have been pretty bad.

[Otterpaw]

"That's too bad," Otterpaw replied, ignoring his previous action. "But we ARE in IceClan, you'll have to get used to it eventually, right? I mean, I LOVE swimming! Best thing in the world!~"

[Hazepaw]

Hazepaw just put a paw on Otterpaw's muzzle to quiet him, "Yeah, that's your opinion on the water, I'd rather stay dry." He said as he then moved his paw and chuckled as he just looked away, wondering whether or not he would get over it or not.

[Otterpaw]

Otterpaw opened his mouth to say something when Hazepaw covered his mouth. He frowned while Hazepaw took his paw away. "Well, I'm sure you'll get over it soon enough."

[Hazepaw]

Hazepaw just rolled his eyes, "Maybe, but hey, she's taking us both to train tomorrow and also to fish and swim. It'll probably help with you there with me." Hazepaw commented, not really sure of why Dappledleaf wanted them to train together in the first place though, yet it probably would have to do with comfort.

[Otterpaw]

"Coooooooool." Otterpaw drawled, imagining the training in his head. It'd be totally awesome! Him and Hazepaw, fishing and swimming together.. they hadn't been training together at all! Otterpaw grinned, totally having drowned Hazepaw out.

[Hazepaw]

Hazepaw had opened his muzzle to add on to that but quickly decided against it as he just grinned and almost began laughing at how he saw Otterpaw had spaced out on him, he did mention swimming after all, and Otterpaw's favorite thing is swimming and being with his best friend probably overwhelmed him.

[Otterpaw]

"Just think, Hazepaw! We could go swimming together, and fishing, and battle training, and hunting, it'll be totally awesome!!" Otterpaw cheered, his tail flicking faster as he was full of excitement.
