It was morning now, and Petalfur stetched in the warrior's den. As Leaf-bare approached, the nights were becoming longer and colder, and the sleep was enjoyable. However, the satisfaction wouldn't last long, as Petalfur would later force herself and her apprentice to wake up earlier to get the most done they could for the day. This would be the one exception, since it was Icepaw's first day. "Icelily, if you're not up yet, you better be soon! Remember, no prey yet! I'll be waiting outside the entrance," Petal called into the apprentices den. After a breif hesitation, the Bengal warrior padded across the clearing and exited camp, waiting just outside as promised. It took plenty of effort to ignore the hunger in her belly. She wasn't an apprentice herself, of course, but it was more important that the other cats had something to eat first; Petalfur could hold off. She still had a bit of a roll of fat from being a temporary queen which she could burn though. Template by Meg❤

Icepaw woke to the sound of her mentors call. She stretched her pure white paws and padded out of the apprentice den. She was finally used to the no tiny kit squeals. She could really get some sleep. She ran off towards her mentor and smiled. "Im ready for the tour." She meowed happily yet yawned a little. She knew that from what the apprentices she had met said. (Sorry this was late!!! School dances and homework and football games oh my? )

The mentor smiled and nodded as Icepaw approached, her warm aqua eyes flickering across the excited apprentice's face. "Well, as you've already figured out, we're going to tour the territory," Petalfur explained, starting her trek. "We'll be primarily surveying the boarders and some of the main landmarks. The rest of the territory is yours to explore. Let me know if you have any questions along the way." As Petalfur approached a gurgling river channeling down the slop of the mountain, she slowed and flicked her tail to inform Icepaw to do the same. "This is the river. It stretches from the top of the mountain to the bottom and off the territory into the other clan's. There's usually fish in Greenleaf, but otherwise it's mostly empty."
It's fine! I had an essay to finish anyway so it worked out Template by Meg❤

Icepaw nodded and slowed down with her mentor. She smiled looking at the river. 'Fish!' She thought happily. She looked as though she were becoming a warrior.

Turning once more in the direction she had previously been heading, Petalfur approached a set of large stones jutting out of the water. They were more submerged than usual with the oncoming rains, however there was still plenty of space on each, and the river wasn't running very fast anyway. "Follow carefully," Petalfur instructed, leaping the short distance bewteen each rock. The rocks weren't very far apart at all, so if Icepaw fell, it would be to human- er, cat error. Safely on the other side of the river, Petal nodded her encouragement to her apprentice.

Ice felt confident yet a tiny bit of being scared crept through her pelt. She looked at her mentor and her nod of encouragement and decided that she should believe. And if she did fall, Petalfur would help her.
She quickly began leaping from boulder to boulder and then landing next to her mentor. She did slip once but she was able to control her balance and she landed normally without falling.

"Very well done," Petalfur praised, her tail swishing around her own legs. "Balance and coordination will do you well in Iceclan." Turning and continuing towards the edge of the territory, Petalfur reflected on her own training. She hadn't gotten much; most of her training she had learned from experience and from teaching herself. However she always did the territory tour the same, for the most part, as she was taught. "We're almost to the boarder, now," Petalfur remarked, slowing down. Once she had lead the way to the edge of the Treeclan boarder, a couple fox-tails away for safety's sake, Petal continued by saying, "Please tell me what you smell, see, and hear. Then make a guess as to what territory this is."

She smiled at her mentors praise as they ended up by a clan border. In front of her stood millions of trees and it smelt of cats that had recently marked the border. Their scents had hints of bark tree in them.
'What are the clans?' She thought. 'Fireclan live on the prairie. Rockclan in the cliffs. Iceclan in the mountains. And Treeclan live in the trees!' She recited in her head. Elders had told her about them when she was a kit. "Treeclan live here!" She meowed sniffing by the border trying to memorize the scent.

"Very good," Petalfur praised, her own gaze wandering along the stretch of forestry. "Can you tell me one fact about Treeclan? Make it as unique as you can - you'll see why later." Petal smiled and returned her reassuring eyes on her apprentice. "Don't worry: It's okay to be wrong. Our errors teach us how to be correct in the future." Knowing from experience, having an idea of what the other clans were like and the history Iceclan shared with them would come in handy living in such a large clan. News traveled slow, in most cases when you rp realistically XD.

Icepaw thought for a few moment. "Well Treeclan is obviously known for being able to climb through the trees like squirrels." She meowed. She hoped that was unique.

As Petalfur knew, the clans tended to keep to themselves, so she wasn't surprised Icepaw had a bit of trouble coming up with jaw-dropping fun-fact. "That's very true," Petalfur acknowledged, grateful that she hadn't just said something like They live in the forest or something as expected as that. "Lets move on." Continuing along the boarder quietly, Petal let her paws lead the way as her mind went the other way. Her thoughts exploring the world like a beacon, Petalfur found herself in deep thought as she considered where her mate might be, if it was truly gone again or if he had simply become a master at avoiding her. Forgetting Icepaw was beside her, or at least she hoped she was, Petalfur sighed, stopping suddenly before she crossed over Rockclan territory. Rockclanners were hard-headed enough that just being near the boarder would annoy the life out of them, so Petal nonchalantly took a few paces back, gazing across the brief stretch of flatter land before the stone ground suddenly bulged up into a steep cliff. "Now, same question as before: What do you sense about this territory, and what is your guess as to the clan that claims it?"

"Well from the looks of the Rocks and cliffs that must be Rockclan. Which are known for being able to hunt in the high cliffs and rocks." She had a hard time explaining Rockclan but she hoped her mentor would get what she meant.

Petalfur nodded, understanding completely. "Now, tell me a fact about this clan," Petal instructed, a tinge of mischief in her eye. "Now, here's the catch: Try not to identify a habit of Rockclan since you did so for Treeclan." She would probably decide to do a recent-history-of-the-clans lecture in addition to her instructions of the warrior duties and code and whatnot. "Don't forget! It's cool to be wrong!"

Icepaw thought for a few moments a little stumped until she thought of two. "Well Rockclan has a habit of uhh....." She studdered for a moment. "Well they have a habit of I dont know." She started but then confessed. She looked at her paws.

Smiling kindly, Petalfur attempted to brush her tail along the apprentice's flank reassuringly. "It's okay. Habits are tricky for Rockclan, which is why I suggested you identify something else," She acknowledged, thinking herself. Petalfur realized then that she was kind of quizzing herself by forcing herself to think about what she knew about the clans. "Rockclan's leader is a she-cat named Cloverstar, who's deputy is Flamepath. They only have one medicine cat - Anemonemist - but she's rather friendly once you get to know her."
