Nowadays, Cloverstar woke up earlier than usual more often than she typically did. It was probably the cold setting in, making way for the approaching leaf-bare that hung in the air, and she was more conscious of it because of how short her fur was. Or maybe she was just on edge. It had been peaceful for some time now, but you never knew when that could change. The hairs on the back of her neck prickled when she thought about it.
She sighed, poking at the freshkill pile and picking out a mouse. She carried it to a corner of the camp, only a walk away from her own den, and flopped down onto a flat rock. In the dim light, her profile was shadowy, with the green in her eyes brighter and almost glowing. Cloverstar clawed the fur away from the mouse before she started to pick at the meat.
Maybe she needed to get out more. She could take a walk later, after hunting. Being so...she wouldn't say "paranoid", but being like she was now didn't sound like a good state of mind to be in. She needed to relax.

Sandstone padded out of the Warriors' den to see her leader leave the fresh kill pile and plop down on a rock. 'So that's our leader, she's got a beautiful pelt.' She thought kindly. She always liked to think positive about others. Cloverstar did look a little on edge but it wasn't that noticeable.
She padded over to the prey pile herself and picked up a smaller mouse. Her appetite wasnt that large this morning, leaf bare always made her loose her hunger. She quickly padded over to Cloverstar seeing if she could meet amd get to know her leader. "Hello Cloverstar, is it alright that I eat with you?" She asked softly dipping her head in greeting. She thought it'd be smart to know her own clan leader. "Oh and im Sandstone, one of the newest warriors." She said remembering to introduce herself.

Just as she was starting to gnaw at the meat, although it tasted too stringy to be edible, her ears twitched at the sound of a voice. Cloverstar looked up. One of the new warriors, she presumed, before she made her introduction to confirm it. "Yes, that's alright," she replied, hoping she didn't sound the way she felt. "Thank you, Sandstone."
She set back to chewing on the mouse, not sure what to say. It'd been a while, maybe too long, since she'd actually actively socialized with anyone in her Clan outside of the usual greeting or assignment or ceremony.

Sandstone dipped her head in thanks as she set down her food. "Thank you Cloverstar." She meowed in thanks. She knew one thing, her leader was very nice. She toke the awkward moment of silence to rip off part of the mouse's fur and then eat the meat under it.
After successfully doing that, she looked at Cloverstar and smiled softly. "So." She began in an awkward way. 'Dang it!' She thought. "Hows life like as leader?" She asked a little curiousitsy in her meow. She always wondered what it was like to be leader of a clan. That had been her dream.
