Robinstar sat in the middle of camp, eating a scrawny mouse. He looked up when he saw a kitten. "Hello, Pinekit," he greeted.

Pinekit was wandering about the camp, not really doing anything. He was actually extremely bored, until he heard a familiar voice call out his name. His ears pricked excitedly when he spotted his father. "Daddy!" he chirped, taking a mad dash to his father. "What're you doing?"

Robinstar couldn't help but smile as his son came racing towards him. It was a rare sight to see on the leader's face, but he'd always liked kittens. "I was just grabbing something to eat. Would you like to try some?" He suggested.

Pinekit jumped giddily at the mention of food. "Yes, yes! Mommy let me try squirrel the other day. It tasted yummy." He bounced to the fresh-kill pile. "Daddy, what should we get?" he asked, peering at the mound of food and then back at his father.

He smiled softly, nodding when he said Lionstrike had let him try squirrel. He and Lion had had Pinekit before Lion had disappeared, and now the little tom had both of his parents. "Hmm. Well, not squirrel. Have you had fish yet?"

Pinekit frowned. "Is there something wrong with squirrels?" he asked, tilting his head at his father. Robinstar then mentioned fish, and his eyes widened. "No! Can we try it? Pleeeaassseeee!"

"No, not at all. But you've already tried it, and it's not exciting to have it again." He explained. He nodded, picking out a trout. "Come on, let's go find a place to sit."

He nodded, suddenly understanding. Robinstar wanted him to be brave and try something new. If that's what daddy wants, I will do it! He watched his father pick out a fish for them to try, making a mad dash to a warm spot in camp. "Sit here, Daddy!"

Robinstar chuckled, following after Pinekit. "You picked a nice spot," he praised, setting the fish down. He tore open its stomach to make it easier for Pinekit to eat. "Go ahead!"

He smiled at his father's praise, small tail lashing happily in the air. Pinekit sat beside his father, watching him open the fish so he could eat. He glanced over to make sure it was okay before taking a bite. It was a strange flavor...not too bad though. "It's kind of...weird." he meowed.

Robinstar watched as his son took his first bite. "You're mother hates fish," he chuckled, taking a bite. "It's an acquired taste—it was for me, at least."

Did he know about his mother being TreeClan? He supposed not. "I guess... not everyone likes fish." He said, trying to find a good explanation. "It means that you might start to like it after a while."
