Mosskit padded outside the nursery, blue eyes flickering with curiousity. The cats outside talked together, or padded alongside each other; perhaps even sending teasing glares and jumping onto each other with playful yowls, judging by the opening of their mouths and the way they tumbled over each other. Mosskit heard none of these yowls, even from the way her ears were perked on her head. The white she-kit was sitting down with her gray tail tip placed onto her only white paw. She looked around the camp, and a bit of snow in the corner caught her eyes. A flash of pain ran through her head, seeming to seep into her fur, into her skin, and she shook her head, trying to dispell that image. "That's been happening more frequently..." Mosskit whispered, standing onto her paws and moving them up and down. She didn't hear her own words; she only felt the movement of her mouth as she opened and closed it.
The ice in her skin seemed to seep away, and she relaxed, sitting down once again. She didn't know if any other kit saw it; if they did, Mosskit might be a little embarrassed for herself...

Riverkit watched as the kit sat alone maybe she had no friend she walked over to her. "Hi I am Riverkit what is your name"? she asked.

Mosskit did not see the other kit approaching nor was she able to hear Riverkit's words due to being, well, deaf. However, Mosskit had happened to look to the side as Riverkit was saying name?, and Mosskit jolted up, flicking her ears in embarrasement. HAd she...? "Uh, can you repeat that?" Mosskit mewed, pretty sure that Riverkit had, well, talked more than just saying "name?".
Who would do that? Mosskit thought, wincing as she herself had asked for the queens' names in such a manner before. Mosskit kept her gaze straight at Riverkit's face, keeping it more focused on her mouth for her lipreading purposes.
