It wasn't like Sunsetshadow didn't like socializing... okay, never mind, she hated socializing. But just keeping up a quiet and lonely life in TreeClan, save for the unsavory voice inside her head. So she decided maybe a two month leave of her responsibilities was deserving of her, right? She was still in TreeClan, it wasn't like she had abandoned everyone. Sunnyset had simply... faded into the shadows. Out of sight, out of mind it the correct term. And it worked. No one--at least, it seemed like no one--had even noticed or cared her existence had all but vanished. Not really that she had been searching for a reaction, like that of the whole Clan exploding in alarm for cats went missing all the time. But from the only living beings she really talked to, which was... err... old apprentice acquaintances and her father... no, she couldn't have counted on them for a reaction. Sure she cared for her father, and was certain he returned the feelings, it wasn't like she expected him to freak over her disappearance. Because it had never been like she existed in the first place, right? Just a blurry shadow drifting along the side lines... that's all she was.
And just like today, Sunsetshadow was drifting. No cat had noticed the dark ginger warrior as she scooped a shrew from the fresh-kill pile and stalked her way to the edge of camp, settling under the shade of a fern and listening to the voice's whispering mocks. The voice had begun to get more... cruel. Not as loud as it would sometimes get, the moments where Sunnyset would become nervous or angry, but more likely to say something. It... brought more worry to her of it's growing power. She even had nightmares it would get so bad, all she'd hear would be screaming. But it couldn't possible get that bad, could it? Though... it had once... when it had taken control over her body....
Finishing the shrew and pushing the bones aside, Sunnyset began to lick her paws clean and wash her face off. She then thought of her father. He had a voice, too. Wasn't the name... "Moon"? Yeah, his voice had a name. But it didn't sound like the name of someone who was evil. "Moon" sounded innocent enough. But she knew from experience to never trust the voices. And she had also watched Moon surface, a twisted image of the father she loved speaking to her own nameless voice. It made her worried for Sunheart's safety, as much as her own. What if it hurt her father? What if it took control, and never gave the reigns back to Sunheart?
You think power like that comes naturally? growled the familiar sound in her head. Sunsetshadow lowered her head to the ground, wrapping her paws over her ears to listen. Even if this "Moon" wanted control forever, it wouldn't get it unless Sunheart never took it back. Unless... it gained enough power.
Enough power? Sunnyset questioned her neutral friend, and only conversation partner.
She imagined a cat nodding in confirmation. The voice had been given a mental picture for her own enjoyment. Herself to every detail besides the cold and malicious emotion in the eyes, and a bit more length to the razor-sharp teeth. One day, alone out in the woods, Sunnyset had peered into the river water at her own reflection and asked the voice what it looked like. It had taken control, though the only difference was the eyes. It had scared Sunnyset to the point of nightmares for the next three days, those distant and calculating amber orbs a threat to her sanity. It did not look friendly in the slightest.
Well, the stronger we get, the more control we have.
Sunnyset shivered, pressing her paws tighter over her ears. How much stronger are you going to get?
She was only replied with a chuckle. A low, agonizingly dark chuckle. And that's when Sunnyset heard the footsteps approaching.

Sunheart... No, more rather... Moon was making his way towards his daughter.
He always wondered what had happened to his other kits. Regardless, he was happy to have his dearest Sunnyset still with him. He hoped she'd be more loyal than her fox-hearted mother. Ha. At the very least, Sunsetshadow could understand him. Seemed some form of insanity ran in the family. He and his daughter both had voices, though Sunnyset seemed to be resisting her's. Moon was aware that Sunnyset's voice had her best interests at heart. Seems Sunheart passed on much more than appearance to his daughter. He wondered just why she was so resistant. Moon wanted her to give in, then things would simply be perfect.
He took his seat before his daughter. He smiled, though he wondered how long it would take before his daughter dearest noticed the dark edges behind his smile, the lack of shine in his eyes. While it was the same body, Moon took on a different appearance than Sunheart. Moon often stood straighter.
"Hello, Sunsetshadow." He purred.
((Ha... Really short compared to your's.))

{ seriously is just built up muse xD }
Sunsetshaow gave her father a skeptical look. "Oh, uh, hey dad...." Was there... something off about him? She knew she wasn't exactly best friends with Sunheart--sure, he was the only cat she ever talked to that was actually alive. So perhaps there truly was nothing different. Even if... he seemed... a bit odd. Just his body language. And instinct as well.
And that fact the voice had basically disappeared. Sunnyset tried to poke it with her mind, the pressure in the back of her head void and what some would suggest as the start of a headache. Voice?
There was a slight poke in return. Sunnyset took that as a neutral response. Is something wrong with Sunheart?
So, you see him?
Sunnyset felt her ears flatten against her head. So it wasn't just a nagging feeling of anti-socialness. It's not him, is it? It's... Moon?
What are you going to do about it?
What CAN I? Dad doesn't think Moon is really evil. But....
You still don't understand why he lets Moon take control like this?
No, I don't. Do you?
There was no such reply from the voice. Sunnyset took a deep breath. "So, you're Moon, right?" she said slowly, almost hesitantly as if she were wrong.
I bet Moon would love to speak to me, Sunnyset.
Sunsetshadow scoffed in her head, As if I'm letting you take control of me anytime soon!
There was a dark chuckle.

Moon noticed Sunsetshadow's immediate suspicion.
He was quite happy to see his darling Sunnyset wasn't a fool. Sunsetshadow seemed distracted, as she didn't speak after her initial greeting to him. He assumed she was speaking to her own voice. It would make sense. It seemed his daughter consulted her voice a lot more than Sunheart and Vixenleap ever had done.
He only offered up a smile with the usual darkness edging it. She correctly identified him. "Glad to see you aren't as easy to fool as the rest of the clan." He purred.

Sunnyset narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the form of her father, but the conscious of a voice she barely knew. Her own voice was silent, not offering any advice on how to approach Moon. She supposed she could be... normal. It wasn't like the voices didn't have emotions or couldn't hold a conversation. That only thing that set them apart from anyone else is... well... a lot of things, really. But the main points were obvious to anyone.
The dark ginger tabby gave Moon another calculating stare before her head jerked to the side as her voice suddenly pressed down on her consciousness. Voice! she cried, feeling her eyes begin to blur and a throbbing pain. What the hell?!
Are you going to give me a chance to talk to Moon, too?
Sunnyset was surprised her voice was only asking, despite having moments before inflicted her with a headache. She bit her lip, twisting her mind around as if she were to grab the dark and void mass that existed it's words. Maybe if you stop that! she shot back. The pressure faded, though the lingering pain still was noticeable. Sunnyset cursed to herself before meeting Moon's gaze to reply. "Once you know what to look for." she growled, as if to answer his question.

Moon waited patiently as Sunsetshadow narrowed her eyes at him.
She didn't seem to trust him. What a shame... He supposed he didn't seem as trustworthy as Sunheart, one point he will concede. He gave off a more intimidating sort of impression, rather than Sunheart's weak, but friendly demeanor. Tch. She'd come around eventually... Wouldn't she?
He tilted his head to the side with curiosity as his daughter's head suddenly jerked, she seemed to be in pain. He wondered if it was her voice, which annoyingly lacked a name. He had never been able to cause Sunheart physical pain, mostly being limited to screaming in his head and occasionally stealing the reigns of the body they were forced to share. Well... More like Sunheart had to share. Moon admitted he didn't exist from the start and developed much later.
He simply smirked. "Doesn't detract from your obvious intellect."

"I guess not." she replied, keeping her tone level and not slipping into anger, mostly caused by the voice's impulsive action. Why do you even WANT to talk to Moon? I thought you two hated each you.
The voice seemed to whisper a 'tsk, tsk, tsk' before a rumbling laughter caught in her ears. We don't hate each other, Sunnyset. The nickname was curled with malice. We just never got a real chance to... chat....
But then something clicked for her.
If I don't give you control, like Dad lets his voice.... Sunsetshadow began, feeling her heart quicken. You're going to take it from me. Aren't you? You're just giving me a chance to concede.
Glad to see you aren't as easy to fool as the rest of the Clan. It's haunting voice repeated Moon's earlier words. Sunnyset felt her fur begin to bristle for only a moment before she forced it to lie flat again.
Let me ask, she said with more of a demand than a suggestion. Maybe Moon doesn't want to talk of you. Have you thought of that, Voice?
The soft 'tsk, tsk, tsk' was all that followed her words. So, Sunnyset spoke aloud to Moon.
"Voice wants to talk to you." she bit her tongue to steel herself from adding and is being an annoying little brat. "If you don't want to talk to it, just say so."

Moon purred in response.
He was happy to see that Sunsetshadow naturally was a better and more confident cat than Sunheart. Heh. Even if that fox-heart was a filthy traitor... He had to concede she was clever and certainly did not suffer from self-esteem issues. He was happy to see that Sunsetshadow inherited that aspect from her mother. Hopefully it was the only one.
He waited patiently as Sunsetshadow was silent once more, most likely continuing to converse with her voice. Though, she did seem a bit agitated. Heh. Seems they didn't get along and Sunnyset retained some degree of fear of it. A difference from Sunheart, seeing as Moon had given mixed signals, he will concede.
Finally, she spoke. He only smiled darkly. "Oh? I'd like to hear what it has to say." Then he tilted his head to the side. "Hm... Labelling your voice without a name and as simply it is rather tiring."

{ sorry for writing a whole lot, I actually really like rping with Sunnyset and her voice. ^-^ }
Sunnyset gave tomcat an odd look. A voice for her name? She had considered it before, but nothing she suggested please the said voice. She could tell it was amused it had no name. And she could tell it wasn't anywhere close to offering up any of it's own ideas. So perhaps she could consult her father on what to call it, whether it liked the name or not. Though, she wasn't about to take that road.... "If you have any ideas, go ahead. Though my voice won't like something random." she paused a moment, a small and twisted smile dancing on her lips. "It thinks the name moon is pretty simple and pathetic. Have fun." And she attempted to close her mind off and give herself into the void inside her head. Her golden-amber eyes closed, and she allowed her shoulders to relax, wondering if this was the way to do it. And slowly, she felt her muscles tighten with the grip she couldn't control. And a slow creeping and tingling feeling caking over the inside of her body, as if everything were falling asleep to the point she was paralyzed. For a moment, her head slumped downwards and her paws trembled in the effort to keep her shoulders upright. Though as soon as her body began to fall, it picked itself right up. Not through the force of her own action, but of it's own accord. Sunnyset's consciousness, for a moment, seemed to be freefalling. That moment in a dream where you begin to fall, the feeling of fear and gravity making the dream become a nightmare, before you smashed into the ground and awoken... for three seconds, that was what it was like. And then everything was stable, Sunnyset peering through her eyes in a shaded world. Everything was darker from where she was seeing things, without color yet sharp, clear and detailed. For once, she actually thought to pay attention and remember how the voice lived. The last time she lost control, her last thoughts were of settling down and accepting things. Even if she felt a air of calmness settle on her mind. The voice's world puzzled her. Strange, no colors, but shadows and extremely sharp vision through the eyes that was rimmed with darkness. And the feeling of no control, as she felt--just a little pull--on her body as it shifted. Testing it's movements with twitching of the ears, a lash of the tail, and then swiping a pink tongue across her teeth. Or, the voice's fangs now.
"Isn't is nice to feel in control?" the voice cooed to Moon in a sly tone, nothing Sunnyset would ever use--or think she could have done. Another mystery, but it did sound surprisingly just like in her head. Her voice, but not hers at the same time. The voice rotated it's head back and around to the other side like a ball of moss, hearing the soft cracking of bones. Sunnyset could feel it's pleasure in feeling the bones crack and the muscles stretch. "Glad to speak to you again, Dad." At that moment, Sunnyset realized something. Just a small thing, nothing to big. But something all the same. The voice didn't consider Sunheart it's father. It considered Moon it's parent. Her father's voice, rather than the vessel itself. We're like twins, she couldn't help but think.
Sure, the voice thought back in a loud and clear voice, making Sunnyset squeak. It sounded incredibly more powerful when it had control. Then we're twins of the same body.

((Don't blame you <3 ))
Moon shrugged.
"I didn't choose the name. And now.... It's simply... Stuck." He drew out slowly. He watched with interest as dear old Sunnyset's body seemed to be going through cycles of relaxation and tension. Interesting. For himself, the transitions had always been much more smooth, as with Vixenleap. He wondered if it was her mother's influence. Probably.
He purred audibly. "Of course." He relished the control he had over Sunheart. The violent tabby would never admit it, but he missed the stuttering moron. A part of the reason he's taking the reigns to make sure their body didn't die, because the moron was depressed enough to do it. Simply to curl up in the forest and not eat or drink and lay there until they were sent to Cloudclan or wherever they'd go. Moon didn't want that, partly because of self-preservation but also... Because he truly did believe he had Sunheart's best interests at heart. It was mostly his off-center moral compass that made him slightly unappealing to most.
Moon laughed. "Mmhm... So I hear you can't quite decide on a name? Mm... Perhaps you'd like to name yourself. Simply because dear old Vixenleap's little Thorn and myself were named by others doesn't mean you have to follow the norm." He shrugged. "Seems you're awfully picky, regardless." He stated. He liked the name Moon because it was an opposite to Sunheart. Yes, it was a bit innocent... But that sort of went paw in paw with Sunheart's name. Both Moon and Sunheart sounded like the names of kind cats, no? Ha. It was great for tricking strangers into thinking he was a nice cat.
Moon's voice was identical to Sunheart's aside from the confidence radiating off it in waves, and the complete lack of Sunheart's warmth. Moon's voice came out calm and strong, but often lacked any love. He was much more reserved than the original tabby.

The voice's rumbling purr sounded from her throat. It gave another twist of it's neck, testing the feeling of flesh. Testing everything. Sunnyset was almost afraid the voice would lash out at Moon just to test her claws. "Too picky to choose my own name." she growled with a sly smile. "Nothing sounds tempting, either. And also, shouldn't the parents name the kits?" she added with a teasing tone. Sunnyset felt a twitch of anger shock her mind--leaving her wondering if this was how the voice felt her emotions. It was odd... and terrifying at the same time. I doubt Moon could help you pick a name. Sunnyset grumbled to the voice, hearing her own echo in the void of her consciousness.
Something began to press down on her force. Something strong and painful. Crying out into the emptiness of her head, she recoiled back in some strange way, as the force continued to push her down. Down and down, until she was completely silent. Knocked out, and clueless. She was just a floating and fleeting conscious lingering on the edge of the voice's controlled emotions.
The voice had been frowning during this at the pressure it had to use, but once Sunnyset was out temporarily, it returned to the wicked grin. "She'll yell at me later for that." it muttered, turning it's attention back to Moon. "But she's gone now. For awhile, hopefully."

Moon tilted his head to the side.
He appeared thoughtful. "Mm... Then you shall have to allow me some time to think of something adequate." He wasn't all too sure anything about Sunsetshadow's voice. It clearly wanted something that was truly reflective. Quite a bit different than himself and Thorn. Their names had more or less been chosen on a whim.
He watched curiously as his daughter seemed to be focusing deeply, before revealing what it had done. It had suppressed Sunnyset? Interesting. Curious, his gaze became unfocused as he took a brief look at Sunheart in their shared mindspace. As suspected, he simply curled up in the corner. Prodding him did nothing. He might be listening. More likely not. His eyes sharpened once more.
"Mm.. Mind sharing reasons? After all, dear old Sunheart isn't listening."

The voice laughed, as if it found those words amusing, before it curled it's claws in the earth. "Just seeing how much control I have." it purred, Sunsetshadow's body giving a violent tremble afterwards. It was frowning then, leaning down in a slouched position once more, before sighing and raising it's shoulders back up in a rigid posture. It curled it's dark golden tail over it's paws, running Sunnyset's claws through the fading tail tip that was the same as her mother's. "Little steps. That's all this is. Testing things out." It's claws sunk into the fur along it's tail, feeling a prick of pain but not deep enough to produce blood. "It's not just Sunnyset's body. It's mine as well."
"Sorry for the last time we met. I was a little--creepy--you could say. It was my first time taking such control." Sunnyset's amber eyes glowed with malice. "And it was nice."

Moon curled his lip.
That was good. Perhaps Sunnyset's voice was a bit... Aggressive... However, he was sure it was best that she grew accustomed to her voice. Ha! Ignoring them did no good. Just take a look at his own little friend, Sunheart! The poor sap was trapped in his own mind now!
He tilted his head to the side. "Well. You've got a lifetime for practice." He purred in response. It was true. It wasn't like they, the voices, were going anywhere. It reminded him of dear old Vixeleap's rather apt name for her voice. Thorn. From the 'other's' perspective, he was sure they were all thorns in their sides. Ha. If only they could finally figure out that they were much more complex and intelligent than mere thorns.
He chuckled darkly. "There will be many, many more times I should hope." He hummed. "Mm... I remember the first time I wretched control."

It curled it's lip. "Thanks for reminding me." it replied with a smile, and soft laugh.
"I just hope Sunnyset will someday be like her father. And be less... oh, what's the word?" The voice raised it's paw and waved it around, searching for the right term. "...Understanding. No, not quite that word. But I hope you understand my point. She's too against me taking control. If she could just sink down and accept things, it would make both our lives easier." The voice paused with a curious expression, slowly losing the malice and creepiness it held with the more time taken in control. It seemed the more it was experiencing the surface world, the more casual and relaxed it became. "Sounds like an interesting story, Dad. Can I hear it for our precious bonding time? And any advice for your daughter?" There it was. A confirmed gender. Now it didn't need to be constantly called an 'it', for it was now a 'her'. Sunsetshadow had been curious for a time if it really was female, and yet every time she asked, the voice would simply offer a mocking reply with no answer. If only Sunnyset were conscious enough to hear this....
