Arrowkit stepped out of a den he had been exploring, squinting in the bright light. His face, usually serious, twisted into a smile as the warmth flooded his veins, making him feel cozy. He sat down and lifted his chin higher into the light, basking in the warmth it gave off. He enjoyed days like this, wheb the sun didnt hide behind clouds, playing peek-a-boo. Arrowkit's smile increased as he lowered his head to look across the clearing, spotting a familiar face. " Sparkpaw, what are you doing?"

Sparkkt looked up as a familiar mew called him. "Arrowkit? Surprising.." he laughed as he got up and padded over to his best friend. "Where have you been? Shoved under a rock?"

"Very funny," Arrowkit purred with amusement. "I thought you were the one living under a rock." His smile became sly. He knew his friend was no match when it came to playing with words. Arrowkit was a natural at changing what cats said about him, turning the phrase on them. Sparkkit wouldnt stand a chance.

"Do you think, for one second, that his kit would be living under a rock?" Sparkkit asked Arrowkit, his eyebrows raising. Then, he smiled and swatted his friend on the cheek, before jumping away quickly. "Bet you can't catch me." he called as he took off at a sprint.

"Your righr, I wont catch you," Arrow sniled as he jumped onto his paws and raced after Sparkkit, not even close to his tail. "Your just too fast," he teased. True, Sparkkit was faster, but Arrowkit knew the area just a bit better, and he was smarter. He took a sharp right turn, abd raced behind a rock, waiting for his prey to pass.

Sparkkit laughed as the wind pushed against his face, the thrill of running giving him goosebumps. He smiled as he heard Arrow's calls, knowing that he would easily outrun the brown tabby. As he was passing a rock, something seemed strange to him, so he looked behind, noticing that his friend wasn't chasing him, "Arrow?" he called as he stopped, genuinely confused.

His prey had come. As Arrowkit watched Sparkkit become confused, he gave hinself time to climb onto the rock and ready a sprinning pounce. He got into his crouch and squared Sparkkit in his gaze, before he pounced, paws outstretched, aiming to land on top of the confuzzled kitten.

Sparkkit turned just in time to see a brown blob fly through the air, and let out a yelp as the bigger kit pinned him down. "Hey, not fair," he complained, before a smile burst across his face and he became to laugh. It was funny. "You think your tricky, just wait," he teased.

"Oh, and im suppose to be scared of you?" Arrowkit asked and he looked down into Sparkkit's face. The other kit seemed less intimidating when he was trapped under the brown tabby's paws. "Your not as scary are you think."

"I bet," Sparkkit meowed as he pretended to be weak, throwing off Arrowkit. Then, he curled in a ball and rolled out from under the tabby's grasp, popping up and landing on his paws. "Now let's see how scary I am," Sparkkit growled. Him and Arrowkit were friends, but he wanted to test Arrow's fighting ability. In a flash, he darted to the other side of the brown tabby and leaped, aiming to pretend claw at his friend's back, and pull him down.

Arrow jumped as Sparkkit rolled out from under his paws. "Woah," he said, unaware of the tan kit's evil plan. He felt weight on his back and was pulled to the ground, but he jumped up quickly and tried to swat Sparkkit's face with his seathed paw.

Sparkkit saw the blow coming this time, and he quickly dodged it. "Too fast for you?" he asked as he jumped on top of the rock, looking down on Arrowkit. "Or are you just naturally this slow?"

A non-serious growl started in Arrowkit's throat. "I already outsmarted you once," he started. "I can do it again." Since Sparkkit was on top of the rock, he could see everything that Arrowkit would be doing. He needed to get put of sight, or put out the hawk's vision. Arrowkit looked around him quickly, before noticing he was standing on dust. "Catch me now, speedy," he mewed as he grabbed a pawful of dust and threw it in the air, running to a shadow and slipping behind a clump of ferns. He needed to devise a good, well thoughtout plan.

Sparkkit coughed and shook his head. Once his vision had cleared again, Arrowkit was nowhere to be seen. The mysterious kitten had been there one second, and the next, completely gone. Why do you always do this. Arrowkit had a legacy of events like this one. He would be talking to friends, then one would say something weird, and he'd completely disappear. "Arrow, you can't stay hidden forever."

Sparkkit was right, Arrowkit couldn't stay hidden forever. He stepped out of the shadows, seeing that Spark's back was facing him. His plan would work. He snuck up, quieter than a mouse, and pounced, aiming to pin down his friend again. "You just can't stay on your feet."
