for Dappledleaf only just roll with it shhhh shhh roll with it She gulped down a tiny mouse from the fresh-kill pile, but it was all she could stomach. Indeed, her insides were writhing with excitement. She was probably overreacting. She was but good lord she was such a pride-driven creature and her self-esteem had spiked. She could barely keep a grin off her face and paused as she saw a familiar pelt leaving the warrior's den. "Dappledpaw--Dappledleaf!" she corrected herself, padding over to the tortoiseshell she-cat. "How have you been? I haven't seen you in forever!" She was bouncing on the pads of her paws.

(omgggg grats fam<333 oh, also, i might ask someone to move the thread since everything is happening in the barn since the avalanche plottt)
Dappledleaf had been finishing a small fish when a familiar voice caught her attention. OakStarbucks®? Turning around, her eyes widened in surprise. "Holy CloudStarbucks®, OakStarbucks®, you've grown!" she meowed, her tail flicking momentarily.
"Wait... are you even an apprentice anymore?" Approaching the brown she-cat, she looked over her again. "Oh, and, I've been good. Got attacked by a bird before a huge avalanche, you know, the normal."

(oh truth i might b able to do that on grayshade idk i've never tried and all the starbucks is killing me ahahaha)
Oakpaw grinned. "Have I really?" She wasn't very large, and she was done growing--but she supposed as a kit she'd been quite small.
"Yeah, still am," she mewed, "But my assessment's coming up soon I think." Anxiety knotted in her chest. She'd nearly managed to forget about it.
"What? Are you okay?"

(couldn't tell if you were a warrior or not bc of starbucks ahh, it's killing me toooo, ahah. can't understand like 99% of what ppl are saying)
"Oh, yeah, I'm fine," she said with a smile. "If Robinstar wasn't with me I probably would've died," she laughed dryly before redirecting the attention to Oakpaw.
"Why are you -- or were you -- so excited?" she asked, suddenly curious. She remembered her practically flying over to her as she'd called the queen's name. Maybe she had been imagining it, but it seemed pretty evident a couple moments ago.

(lolsame)
"Robinstar was with you?" She grinned. "That's cool. Were you on patrol?"
She smiled again. "I'm just--it--" Suddenly it seemed rather egotistical of her. "Robinstar said he thought I was smart," she said after a bit. "I just--you know. I run on compliments."

(i'll get xat... eventually.)
She cast her friend an odd glance when she grinned at the mention of Robinstar with her. "We weren't, I just asked him if he wanted to go hunting. It's my fault we ran into the bird." She frowned at the thought before shaking her head to clear it.
Shooting Oakpaw an incredulous look, she laughed lightly. "We all run on compliments, because in all honesty if cats didn't support or compliment eachother we wouldn't have any other way to connect," she mewed softly, smiling at the comment. "Regardless, I can tell you bring out the best in Robinstar. He's kind of... reserved."
Giving an overly dramatic lash of her tail, she grinned, though what she said was genuine. "And trust me, you are smart -- like genius cat smart or something," she said crossly, realizing her bad choice of words. "He wasn't simply complimenting you, he was being honest."

(lol ok) (robinstar is to oakpaw as tswizzle is to me)
"Oh, that's cool." She tilted her head. "I'm sure it wasn't all your fault."
Oakpaw rocked on her paws, smiling. "That's a nicer way to think about it." She ducked her head a little. She liked to imagine that she was really a friend of the leader of her Clan because he mentored her, but she wasn't quite so close as that. She mumbled a "Thanks," and repeated it again, looking up as Dappledleaf sounded a little annoyed.
"I guess," she mewed awkwardly, always uncomfortable discussing her own traits, good or bad. "It's not--I guess. Yeah."
Reaching for another thing to discuss, her eyes brightened as she looked up at the older she-cat. "So I hear you're a mom now! I feel bad--I've barely spoken to you but I'd love to meet some of your kits," she said with a smile.

(yessss. are you guys still on that thread from june? lol)
She laughed again, though this time it was more quiet than before. Oakpaw didn't really talk about herself much, but Dappledleaf loved learning as much as she could about her friends, especially her first ones from the nursery. Rabbitpaw wasn't around anymore, but she was glad Oakpaw still was. Hopefully it stayed that way... then again, cats got busy and sometimes even disappeared regardless of their status.
Her ears perked at Oakpaw's sudden interest. "Oh.. right, I kind of - yeah, I am," she finished, her words all messy and jumbled. She hadn't forgotten she was a queen, but she had definitely given herself more than enough free time lately. She was told queens got... chubbier, but she'd never noticed it herself.
"Have you?" She hadn't met too many of her kits, unfortunately. "Did they get my absolutely fabulous traits?" she drawled sarcastically, relieved to be around someone who wasn't always eyeing her for being herself; crazy and sarcastic.

(NO we finished it finally my assessment is next hype hype hype)
"Oh--I didn't mean to tease you," Oakpaw mewed, a little embarassed. "I mean, you look great." Well done, Oakpaw. Make it worse.
"No, not yet. Not that I know of, at least." She smiled a little. "I haven't met any new cats for a long time now, but maybe more once I'm a warrior." She shrugged. She wasn't too worried about her social life. Warriorhood came first.
She laughed. "I'm sure they're all--" She grasped for the best word. "Cynical," she teased.

(hypeee, oh and grats on fallensnow! cinderblaze is on/in a patrol with you i think for the mini plot, lol.)
She just kind of stared at her friend for a moment before laughing lightly, care-free. "No, it's fine," she purred, prodding her stomach with one paw as if inspecting it, or just trying to see if it got any bigger. Then again, she couldn't tell if she was fat or having kits anymore ew i dont want to be preggers. "Really, though, it's fine. I wouldn't take it as teasing."
"Oh, I see," she mewed, looking curiously at her friend. "Well, don't get all reserved like Robinstar, OK?" she asked with a semi-serious expression. "It's not that it's bad that he's reserved, but I think it's better that you feel and express instead of locking it away."
Her eyes widened and she faked surprise, gasping sarcastically. "That would be an understatement, and that's saying something," the tabby laughed, her eyes glinting. "In all my moons, I never thought I'd mother kits. In fact, that's probably the last thing I thought I would do, ever."

(she is lol but i cant remember if fallen and cinder have ever actually interacted?? oh well who knows)
"Ok. I don't want to be rude," Oakpaw assured her, feeling somewhat relieved she wasn't angry or offended.
"Yeah," she mewed, scuffing at the ground. Didn't Robinstar seem happy enough? Or maybe she only was seeing what she expected to with him. "I express," she denied before she could think about what she was saying. "No, I know what you mean. I just--yeah," she finished, a little bugged but keeping her expression neutral as she pawed at the ground. "I don't get much chance to meet cats," she mewed after a moment of silence, trying awkwardly to defend herself.
"Ever never ever," Oakpaw said, meaning to make it sound more joke-y but coming off as more monotonous. "Sometimes I guess things just happen. I really don't think I'll ever have kits, though," she said, thinking privately to herself that, in her case, she hoped things didn't 'just happen.'

(i think they did once on a training session together w/ fangshadow/shadowfang? (what am i saying, i forgot his name...) cinder had quite a few mentors so who knows)
Dappledleaf caught a hint of annoyance in the she-cats' voice and she paused before speaking again. Nice job, make it worse, again. That was usually what happened when she rambled or got serious, anyway, hence her shameful inability to interact without hesitation.
"No, I believe you do it's just -" that I know you look up to Robinstar a bit and I don't want you becoming him " -nothing, I'm probably just pestering you," she said crossly before offering a smile, flicking her right ear in slight annoyance - only at her own misphrasing, of course.
She grimaced lightly. Kits weren't her life and she knew it... she really wanted to make them her world, but she found herself having a hard time doing exactly that. She wasn't exactly fit to be motherly, it just didn't... fit her. She was glad cats didn't just appreciate her because she was one of the queens. Frowning, she let her tail sway for a moment before letting it fall down, behind her back.
"Yeah.. it kind of just happened for me," she mewed quietly. Mother, the word made her stomach groan unhappily. She didn't know whether she liked the change or not, but she still respected her rank. "I don't think I could ever see you as a mother, to be honest," she laughed rather quietly, trying to lighten the mood a bit.

(oh that might've happened that sounds a little familiar also it's fangshadow lol)
"You're not," Oakpaw said, unsure how to break the tension but offering just a small purr. "Never mind. You're right."
Noting how Dappledleaf looked a little upset at the mention of her motherhood, she nuzzed her a little, brushing her side. "I think you're a great mom," she mewed quietly, trying to make her friend smile. "It doesn't need to be your whole identity," she added after a moment, though she wasn't sure exactly what Dappledleaf was sad about.
She purred a little. "I don't have enough emotions," she mewed.
