As Flowerkit spoke, pride ran through Quailkit. He raised his tail and nodded, "Promise that, bro?" He asked, looking at his littermate. "Cause I'm gonna train just as hard."

"Promise!" the patched kit exclaimed, his whiskers twitching as he spoke, "I can't wait till then! It's gonna be rad"

Quailkit looked off to the sky, daring in his eyes. He couldn't wait for his apprenticeship to start, he would get to train with Flowerkit and Arêtekit and get to explore. "'K, let's get some food before we do anything else."

[Minnowfin]

"Okay!" Flowerkit nodded eagerly, nose twitching as he tried to pick up the scent of food.

Quailkit nodded back and started padding towards the fresh-kill pile, the scent of prey making him more hungry. "Over here!" He meowed as he stopped by the pile, grabbing a sparrow. He looked over at his brother.

Flowerkit purred as the two came to a stop, reaching forward to go take a small, brown mouse. It looked strange. The fact that it's eyes were open kind of made Flowerkit feel sick but he sunk his teeth into it anyway, gnawing as his small teeth struggled to pierce through its flesh.

The brown tabby tom sat by Flowerkit, watching him eat in interest. He took a bite out of his sparrow and meowed as he chewed, "Need help?" He spat out of the feathers and twirled them with his claws.

Flowerkit giggleed and blushed, embarrassed, "Yes please," He spoke quietly, his pale green eyes focused on his small front paws, one black, one white.

"I'm pretty useless with my teeth right now. Guess I'm a slow develi- dev-ell-oh-pah" the young kit spoke, stumbling over the large word and ending up having to sound it out.

Quailkit chuckled and abandon his food for a bit, heading over to Flowerkit. He began to cut the mouse with his claws to make it easier to eat. He chuckled again, "You need speaking lessons?" He teased slightly as he cut.

"No!" He frowned, ears pressed to the side of his head.

"I just can't say long words." He spoke, annoyed at getting made fun of.

Quailkit rolled his eyes and laughed to himself, "Sorry, bro! Just teasing!" He said, backing away from the cut up mouse. "Enjoy your gourmet mouse." He joked before stuffing himself with sparrow.

Flowerkit made a small grumpy face before smiling again.

He giggled at Quailkit's words before beginning to munch on a small piece of mouse.

Sparrow feathers muffled Quailkit's words as he spoke, "You like the mouse?" He then spat out the feathers and watched them float to the ground, yellow eyes bright with amusement.

"Yeah! It tastes so much better than milk." He grinned.

Quailkit nodded, "Sure does, and you should finish up soon." He meowed, an eaten sparrow lying at his tiny paws. He was an impatient cat, wanting to leave right after he finished something.
