MelodysongSkykit sat down and got comfy. She didn't want to leave the camp yet. It would be too hot and she would be forced to trudge around in the sun. Instead she had sat back quietly while her litter mates became apprentices. Not that she wouldn't have asked to get out of this boring place if she could possibly stand the sun.

Melodysong looked down at her daughter. She seemed to be upset or fidgety about something. What could it be? "Hey, what's wrong?" she asked, giving her youngest daughter a gentle smile. "Is everything alright?"

Skykit looked up, startled. "Oh, hi mom. I thought you were out hunting." Skykit smiled gently. "Are we ever going to end up back in those places with that ice thing you told us so much about?" She paused for a moment before adding, "It's really hot here."
(Sorry, the iceclan stories are a thing lake kit and I ussually assume while RPing)

"You mean the old IceClan camp? Oh, I do hope so. We probably will, one day. But it's too damaged now to do much" she said with a sad sigh. She missed the Clan's former camp. She had been born there, trained there, and received her warrior name there. She had been a very young warrior when the camp had been destroyed by an avalanche, and she wished to go back and relive the olden days.

Skykit nodded solemnly and paused. After a few minutes she spoke agian. "Mommy, could you retell me about iceclan's old camp. And this time could you explain how we nded up here of all places?" she asked, her voice very soft and sweet. "You never told me that kast part.'

Melodysong sighed, and settled into her nest. "I can tell you about the old camp. However, I'd rather not speak of how we ended up here." she said. She didn't want to tell the kit, for she was far to young to understand. "Is that alright with you?" she asked.

Skykit shook her head violently. "No mommy, I don't want to just know about the old camp, I want to know how we ended up in this heat hole!" she replied a bit loudly. "I'm almost an apprentice, why can't you just tell me now? If not I'll just ask some other warrior and get them to tell me. I bet even the elders would!"

Skykit nodded. "I see, I'll just ask the warriors then. I know somewhere someone will tell me." she paused for a moment, putting together what she would say. "You might as well tell me, but if not, I see how it is. I'll just get some warrior you may not even know and have them tell me."

Melodysong growled. "Don't sass me, kid. I'll tell you once you're an apprentice. Until then, you are to stay here in the nursery, unless you can promise me you won't go asking people. Are we clear?" she asked.

Skykit laughed sharply. "I am old enough to be an apprentice, I just chose not to point myself out to the leader. It's to hot for me to stand it even in the sun just for a minute or two. It would be a blessing to stay in the nursery. And you realize that apprentices come in the clean out nests. They'd know. I'll just ask them. It's not like you can just sit gard on the nursery all day. You have to leave me here all alone to hunt and that stuff!" she turned away, trying to hide the tears in her eyes.

Melodysong sighed, and her voice turned gentle. "Look...." she said slowly, trying to gather her words. "I don't like talking about it because it's quite emotional for me." What she didn't add was that a kit couldn't possibly understand the trauma. "One of my favorite apprentices passed during that time, so I don't like to talk about it. I'm sorry I snapped at you."

"I'm so sorry." Skykit mimicked in a high pitched voice. "I'm sure you are." she said, throwing her a quick glare before stalking off. She wondered if her mom would stop her. Probably.

Skykit turned on her heel and faced her mom. "I already told you." she said in a hushed voice. Had Melodysong really asked that? "I want to know how we ended up here of all places." she held back a snarl. Her mom, for one, was capable of telling the queens not to let her out of the nursery.
