Arêtepaw yawned as she looked around the apprentice's den, using her paw to wipe sleep from her eyes. She was quite tired, and she was excited to get started with her training. However, she hadn't started yet, so she was quite bored. In the meantime, she decided to get to know Forestpaw some more, who was a kit she hadn't quite ever gotten along with.
After a minute of searching the den, she found the apprentice lounging awake in his nest. She padded over to him, and flashed him a smile. "So," she started, "it looks like you've finally found your nest...I guess we don't have much reason to argue anymore, eh?"

Forestpaw lifted his head at the sound of pawsteps. His eyes landed on Arêtepaw, and a scowl appeared on his face. "Shut up." He muttered, resting his head back down. What was she trying to do, trick him? He wasn't that stupid. Still, even if she was trying to be sincere, he would never want a friend like her.
He shuffled around in his nest and faced the other way, ears perked to listen for Arêtepaw's departure. 'Surely she'll get the message.'

Arête huffed, but remained calm. She just gave the cat another smile. "Look, I know we've had a....rough past. I'm sorry for that. I was thinking maybe we could start over, go hunting, you know...." she said, struggling for words.
(Sorry for the short post.)

Forestpaw flicked an ear, indicating that he had heard her. He huffed loudly. "Okay, but why? Are you really that desperate for friends?" He snickered, followed by a long pause. "Besides, you wouldn't want to be friends with someone younger than you. You made that very clear last time."

Ara groaned. "I'm sorry about last time. I was rude, yes. But you seem nice enough. As for why? Who knows?" she said. "And no, I"m not desperate, I'm just tired." she said, not really sure what she was saying.

Forestpaw buried his face in his paws. "Go away." Arêtepaw was just plain annoying, and what was with the sudden change of heart? 'I don't believe it for a second!'

Ara shrugged. "Complain all you want. I'm not leaving." She said, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws. She was quite stubborn, and tended to get what she wanted, one way or another....

He twitched his tail in response. Forestpaw wouldn't move an inch. 'She's gonna get bored and leave eventually. She has to.'

Arêtepaw smiled sweetly. "Sorry to burst your bubble..." she said. "But I'm not going anywhere. She thought about how stubborn this apprentice way being....until she thought of herself. What a slap in the face. I guess we're both stubborn. she thought.

"You already told me that." He said flatly, not really caring what she did anymore. As long as she didn't continue to talk to him, he'd be fine. 'I can just pretend she's not there, and maybe my wish will come true.'

(Sorry for the late reply!)
Arêtepaw just continued sitting. She could stay here 'till she got her warrior's ceremony, if that's what it took. Nothing else would move her from her perch.

|| no worries! ||
Forestpaw copied her. He wasn't a very patient cat, but he was a stubborn one. Maybe the two would be stuck like this for moons.

Well, wasn't this just nifty. They were both sitting there, headstrong and locked in the same positions. She wasn't moving. Nope. NE-ver.

Forestpaw wanted to cough, but forced himself to keep it in. He remained in the same position.

Ara sighed. "You could stay like this forever, couldn't you?" she inquired.
