Sky Natalia was thankful for the restful night of sleep. She was yawning as she moved through the forested area of Deathclan's territory. She preferred the forest, the swamp areas of Deathclan were rather... Distasteful to the tabby. She'd heard there had been a few new recruits coming into Deathclan. She recalled Dove's words about the rankings. They'd all be peasants, since she doubted any of them would be so extraordinary to rise in the ranks so swiftly. She stopped, an unfamiliar scent hitting her nose. She figured it must've been one of the new Deathclan members that had been on her mind. Her expression was neutral. She wasn't naturally a friendly cat, but she was making an active effort to not immediately alienate others."... Hello."

Sky trekked through the forest, thankful for the shade the tall trees had provided for her. Her back ached from yet another night of sleeping on the ground and she held back a hiss of annoyance as she stumbled over a tree root. Without eyes things proved to be extremely difficult in such a new territory. She had no idea what was in front of her unless she could smell it.
Speaking of smells, she halted and flattened her ears as an unfamiliar scent hit her pink nose. She made an effort to keep her fur flat, recognizing the scent as Deathclan. Hearing a hello she slowly walked towards the she-cats scent, digging her claws into the dirt encase of an attack. " ..Hi" She stated, an unkind tone in her voice. It wasn't that she didn't like her already, she was simply preparing herself for a sudden attack.

The first thing Natalia noticed were the scars.
They... Admittedly kinda looked like wounds from a cat. She wasn't sure this cat's history, but she wouldn't pry into a stranger's history. Treat those how you'd like to be treated and all that, and all that. Not that she really lived by that... But it worked in this instance.
Natalia noticed this... Stranger seemed to be extremely mistrustful of Natalia. She wondered if this was what it was like to meet Natalia in her earliest days of Deathclan. "I'm Natalia." She introduced herself, working to keep her voice neutral, trying not to antagonize the other she-cat.

" I'm Sky." Sky stated slowly, instincts told her Natalia was a generally calm cat but she could never be sure.
She didn't want to seem weak and she strongly hoped she hadn't seen her stumble earlier. Natalia didn't seem too wary, she was glad the other she cat hadn't brought up her scars. Not that it was an uncomfortable subject for Sky, she just simply didn't feel like being interrogated by someone she had just met.
" I'm new around here." Sky stated, staying a good distance away from the other she cat. She had no way of knowing how big or strong this other cat was, although she did have a lot of experience in fighting she could only assume this cat had more. She lived by the whole 'never underestimate your opponent' thing.

Natalia nodded.
Sky still seemed rather wary... It did not go unnoticed the distance between the two she-cats. Still, she did nothing to close the gap even by a small margin. She supposed that was to be expected. It had been a rather... Long time before she began to open up to other cats. Drawing from personal experience, she wasn't going to push Sky for information. Likely better to give her some practical information for settling in.
"One of the first things you should do is get a den." She advised. "Whether it's in the general area of most cat's dens or farther away, doesn't matter much."

" So I heard, its a little harder then it sounds as I'm sure you know from personal experiences." She recalled how badly everyone here reacted when she tried to move to close to their dens.
"So, Natalia, how long have you lived here?" Sky asked with genuine curiosity. She hoped Natalia had lived here awhile, it would be good to ally with someone who was familiar with the territory and such.

Natalia shrugged.
"I suppose. I'd never had issues with that... My den is farther from the others." When she'd first come to Deathclan, she'd been very against forming bonds with other cats and sought to isolate herself. Needless to say, it didn't work. Not that she regretted that fact.
"I've been here a while. Several moons." She'd come to Deathclan when she wasn't yet fully grown, roughly about the age that a cat could take care of themselves in the wild without being picked off straight away. Now here she was, an adult. Thankfully, it seemed by now Sky was more relaxed.

(sorry that took so long! My internet broke down)
Sky nodded, making no comment. She kept that in mind, although it would be more dangerous for her to be farther away due to the fact she couldn't spot what was creeping up on her. She was used to it by now though, before Deathclan she managed.
"Oh, what made you join? If you don't mind me asking." Sky added politely, she wasn't looking to make a new enemy. Sky would completely understand if she didn't answer, she wouldn't even know how to respond if the question was retaliated.

Natalia shrugged.
"The decision was made on a whim. No particular reason, really." Natalia was reasonably sure she just didn't want to be alone, but had been a bit in denial at the time. Still... It wasn't that important that she changed her answer a little bit.
She still didn't trust cats upfront, even if she was less prickly about it. Jude could only change the cynical tabby so much. Cats don't do a complete 180 unless they're a bit... Off.

Sky could tell the she cat was holding something back but decided not to act on the feeling, knowing it wasn't her place to demand the truth. " Ahh, I see.." She trailed off, not sure what else to say.
Sky shifted forward, closing the large gap between them and sitting a more reasonable length away. Although she didn't know the stranger she was quite certain Natalia wouldn't attack her. Even if she did she knew how to defend herself.

Natalia saw Sky shifted forward, the distance between them becoming more sensible.
It seemed at this point, Sky was probably at her least wariest to a total stranger. Sky seemed to run out of conversational topics, however. That was understandable, they were strangers to each other.
She eyed Sky curiously. "If you don't mind me asking... How did you decide to come to Deathclan?" She inquired.

Sky stiffened, flicking her ears unsurely. It wasn't that it as so much of a personal question, it was more the fact it would make her look weak in front of a stranger. She constantly denied the fact that the real reason was simply because without a group around her, she was vulnerable. Too many other animals had attacked her and she had barely made it out alive for most of them. It wasn't that she was an awful fighter, because she wasn't, but she also didn't compare to foxes and badgers, wolves even.
" Its kind of a long story." She muttered, although she wasn't lying, it really could be if she told her in detail... okay, maybe it was a little lie.

Natalia's left ears flicked.
"You don't have to tell me." She replied quietly. "I'm a stranger. I have no right to demand information you don't want to share." She wasn't going to divulge every piece of personal information to a complete stranger. She wasn't about to tell Sky about Thomas and Nightpaw.
She wasn't a hypocrite. She wouldn't demand that someone would talk when she knew for a fact she'd be angry if someone demanded the same of her. She wasn't.... Good. But she wasn't that horrible.

Sky shrugged her stiff shoulders, relaxing.
" Thanks." She muttered, the awkwardness still in her voice. She had never been good at her manners. " I guess everyone has their secrets." She said, trailing off near the end.
Shaking her head she looked back up, a small smile plastered to her face. " I guess I was just tired of being alone, I think most cats here get that." She referred to Natalia's previous question. She assumed most cats here had been alone before Deathclan.

Natalia supposed that like herself, Sky wasn't very experienced in social interaction.
She just nodded. "Yeah." She replied simply. She was sure every cat had their own personal reasons for everything, things they didn't want to share. Pain likely had reasons behind his... Jerkiness... Probably? Well, anyways... All cats had secrets. Even Patch probably. About what, she didn't have a clue.
Then came Sky's reason. She wondered if Sky opened up like this to anyone else. She wasn't about to ask, though. It wasn't a competition. "... I get that." She shrugged. "I kind of... Have a home now."
