Creekpaw was silent for a minute or two, trying to decode her words. 'What I want? I don't want anything!' He took a small glance at the prey heap, his stomach beginning to rumble at the sight. He turned back and faced his mentor again, wishing she would just tell him what to do.

Amberflash sighed in relief that Creekpaw's stomach finally ended the circle.
"See? You should listen to your stomach. You're hungry...." She sighed again. "I wish you just told me that from the beginning.... This wasn't some weird assessment or anything..." She began to get back onto her paws. "Listen up Creekpaw... I don't ask trick questions. I don't misdirect. When I'm saying something.... That's what I actually mean. Meaning I was just worried that you'd suddenly collapse in the middle of training because you hadn't eaten since yesterday." She sighed, with a slight smile.
"Now, you should go eat something and then we can get started."

Creekpaw traced his paw around in the dirt as she spoke, keeping his head lowered. "S-Sorry..." He whispered, trudging off for the fresh-kill pile. He chose the smallest hare, gobbling it down in a few bites. He then padded back to Amberflash, ready to follow her out.

Amberflash sighed one final time at Creekpaw's apology.
Argh.... She hoped she could help Creekpaw out of this... Submissive stage in their life. Her family and friends helped her to stop being a grump so maybe she could uh... Help Creekpaw get a backbone? She'd have to have patience... That she did not generally believe she possessed.
This was going to be tought.
She waited, seated for Creekpaw to return. She exhaled deeply. "Alright then." She got back onto her paws and started to move, leaving the camp and going out in the territory.

Creekpaw followed close behind, careful to watch his pawsteps. He wouldn't want to fall and make a fool of himself. That would be a nightmare. Moving at a slow trot, he silently worried if Amberflash was irritated with him. Did she sound irritated? 'I don't think she likes my quietness' Then again, no one did. It was one of his flaws that would probably never be fixed. 'And I hate myself for it. Why can't I be talkative like my clanmates?' His ears stayed folded back as he pondered this, expression remaining a mixture of anxiety and sadness.

((ohgod creekpaw you poor tiny fluff
As Amberflash walked along, with Creekpaw following along, she began to speak.
"So... Last time we went around the territory. This time we could... Do some hunting.... Or battling." She left her words like that. She wanted Creekpaw to choose. He'd been terrified of getting it wrong somehow, earlier?! Like how could you go wrong concerning food and hunger? Jeez. So, she wanted to show Creekpaw that sometimes there is no right and wrong choice. At least a little bit.

Creekpaw nodded in response, not sure if she'd seen him. He hoped that Amberflash would choose instead. He really didn't have an opinion, and choosing between two things really stressed him out. What if he said the wrong thing? 'Even though she did say that she didn't ask trick questions... What if that was a trick question?' He sighed to himself, not daring to look up. He didn't want to meet Amberflash's gaze in case she looked back.

Amberflash sighed again as she walked along.
Creekpaw didn't respond, so she figured this was the same problem as last time. Trying to give him a choice made him feel as if she was testing him. "This is a genuine question. I want your opinion Creekpaw. Nothing wrong with opinions." She tried. Though, secretly she feared the Creekpaw would start freaking out. Again.

Without noticing it, Creekpaw's breathing began to quicken. Apparently he did the wrong thing again. The tuxedo squeezed his eyes shut for a few moments. "I-I don't... I don't c-care what we do." His quiet and scratchy voice sounded as nervous as ever. He truly didn't have an opinion, and even if he did, it wouldn't matter. He wished someone else could make every decision, someone else would take charge, and he could just blend into the background. Maybe even disappear. 'Wouldn't that just be the greatest thing ever.'
