Redfang was happy to let Doveheart take the lead, enjoying the breeze left by the storm that carried the usual summer heat away without bringing with it the chilly bite of the storm itself. He found his gaze drawn to Doveheart, who had stopped to wait for him a short distance ahead. He found that he'd grown to like the she-cat, who managed to seem more alive with expression than any other cat he knew. The thought struck him that he now saw her as a friend. Is that even allowed? he thought to himself. A frown tugged his lips downwards, replacing the shadow of a smirk that always seemed to hover about his muzzle. I also don't know her real name. That kind of thing matters, doesn't it? He decided that it likely did matter, but was an issue for another day; the more pressing concern- that of whether he was aloud to think of her as anything but a rival- he waved away; she seemed completely trustworthy, and he had a tendency to be lenient in his following of rules anyway. This was, of course, assuming that she thought of him as anything other than a nuisance; sure, she'd cared for him, but who was to say that she'd simply been attempting to keep conflict from their respective clans by keeping sickness at bay? This was something that could easily be blamed on her if he did become sick, though he wouldn't dream of blaming her for his own idiocy. He certainly couldn't blame her if this was the case. He wished to ask these questions aloud, but the chaotic jumble that was his mind at the moment made this difficult; as it was, he barely recognized the fact that the bushes were thinning out, though the ground was still far too uneven for this to be any part of FireClan that he knew. He again attempted to articulate what he wished to say into words, but instead found himself saying, "So, this sun is pretty, uh, warm." He nearly stopped walking for a moment, so in awe of his own stupidly obvious statement that his basic motor skills nearly left him. He managed to keep walking, but he couldn't for the life of him think of anything more intelligent to say. (sorry for the book )

no biggie!(:
"So, this sun, is pretty, uh, warm."
Barrensong relaxed, giving a smile and nod at his comment. Just want she needed to keep her worries off her mind for now. They were seeing less and less random bushes around, and the ground was starting to break. The she-cat lifted her nose into the air and wrinkled it. Yes, it was familiar, but during her patrols! Rockclan! Though she was still unsure of which side of Rockclan they were at, she was glad that they were still on the land of the four clans. Who knew what would have happened if they were to end up with at the Twolegplace or Deathclan? The two probably wouldn't stand a chance out there.
Back to the sun. Barrensong saw a lone boulder and climbed upon it like how she would a tree, though the rock was more weird of a texture compared to bark, she managed to succeed in reaching the top to sunbathe. Whether or not Redfang was going to wait for her, she did not care for now, for this boulder was amazingly relaxing and warming her up.

Redfang quickly got over his momentary inability to speak, helped along by the fact that the scent of RockClan had moments ago crashed into him like a wave breaking over rocks. "That's not good," he murmured; if he'd managed to cross over onto two territories in the course of a single day- unwittingly or not- he couldn't imagine the outcome that awaited him. Should he be caught, that is, and assuming they weren't still on FireClan lands. He pushed the worry away; it would do him no good now, considering that he could do little to change the outcome aside from what he was already doing. He instead turned his attention on Doveheart as she clambered up a nearby rock, evidently to make use of the higher elevation and flat surface to further enjoy the sun's heat. He pondered simply continuing on his way; potential friend or not, he really didn't want to risk the chance of running into a patrol of any clan at the moment. But he felt a twinge of guilt at the thought of leaving her on her own, and so he too scaled the rock, making use of legs made strong through training and hours of chasing after rabbits. The ascent was still difficult; his leap didn't quite bring him to the top, and so he had to scramble at the sheer rock to haul himself the rest of the way up, nearly tearing a claw off as he did. When he finally did manage to pull himself up, he was surprised at the view; sun-kissed hills and the occasional rock merging into expansive prairie. "Impressive."

sorry, I don't have internet back home anymore! o:
Barrensong lifted an eye to watch the tom half struggling to reach the top and chuckled to herself. 'He's not going to stop trying, is he.' She would have thought that he would have tried to return home. To her, she saw no need for the tom to still stick by her side. The storm was over and they sort of knew where they were. A patrol would probably find them here eventually, whether physically, or through their mixed scents.
As soon as Redfang finished his climb, she purred, satisfied. As a Treeclanner, she barely had trouble, but as a cat who did not have trees or rocks around, he managed to please her.
She saw this as her opportunity to get higher, to see more, even if it was just a little bit, the Treeclanner crawled over to Redfang and pressed her front paws on his back, looking for support so that she could see the view even better.

(no worries ~)
Redfang was still enjoying the view before him when he felt something pushing on his back. He turned to regard Doveheart with a bewildered expression plastered on his face. "What are you doing?" he asked, trying to think of a possible reason for why she seemed to be trying to crawl onto his back. Coming up with nothing- nothing logical, at least- Redfang hesitantly lowered himself, pressing his chest and stomach into the smooth surface of the boulder they stood upon. "Right, well, do... whatever, I guess," he said, his confusion still evident by the tone of his voice and the small frown that tugged the corners of his lips downwards.

Well, that was easy. Barrensong remained where she was, enjoying their view. That was, until she stopped something moving in the distance. A patrol? Prey? She could not tell, but the she-cat crawled off the tom and their elevated surface, back onto the ground. It was different being back down here, but she assumed that they had to move before something or someone found them.

Though still a bit confused, Redfang accepted Doveheart's actions easily enough; there was only so much information you could get from a mute, after all. His confused frown returned, however, when the she-cat rapidly crawled off of his back, then jumped back to the ground. He followed soon after, albeit less gracefully, and regarded her with a furrowed brow. "Something the matter?" he asked, scanning the surrounding land with a curious gaze; he had his answer quickly enough, in the form of something moving towards them. The distance was too great to easily tell what it was, but that didn't matter; there were no possible options in which the outcome would be good, with a neutral result being the most they could ask for. "Might be a good idea to leave," he muttered, wary of raising his voice too high in case the wind carried his words to whatever it was that moved toward them.
