A cave filled with Slate and Onyx (P)

At least the tension had toned down a lot. I had been nervous for a moment we would duke it out.

But that would further push away my apprenticeship... and we can't have that. Not for either of us.

I sighed as the tomkit did the easy 'you started it' excuse, although I didn't find it as annoying as I usually did. "Well, then sorry." I muttered, looking away. "I'm not a very nice cat. I'm the type that'll say you look nice, but in a way that implies you're the most hideous creature in the world. And cats can't seem to understand I can't force myself to be friendly, or control what I say. Or they just can't get what I'm really trying to say."

Like earlier. I was trying to say his eye was kinda cool, and he should accept his own physical appearance. But I guess I implied that rather badly, as everyone witnessed... with all the screaming and stuff.

I gave him a quick glance, my fur burning because I couldn't believe I was apologizing. "Listen, kid. Let's not fight because we're both idiots who don't understand one another. Okay?"

With a happy sigh he says "well, I think you were right about me screaming my throat out. It feels really sore." He says happily. Nodding as she explains herself he says "Well, I think if you find a way to like... channel anger cats may start to see you for who you really are..." he says slowly.

Looking at her fur as she visibly tries to stop it from bristling he smiles and says "Yeah, that's true."

I huffed, giving my eyes a rude roll. "Yeah, so maybe you should shut up already and give your voice a rest." I growled, pausing for a moment after those words as I realized they were a little mean, but I hope he understood what I was trying to say.

I met his gaze as he spoke again. Channel my anger? Pfft, oh if only it were that easy. "I'm not something you can just channel away, or whatever you're implying. Plus, I'm not gonna sugar coat my words for someone else's good graces."

"So we cool?" I rose an eyebrow at him questionably.

Snorting he smiles and says. "You too." dipping his head as to show he meant well.

"Whelp, then I suppose you will have to stay a lone cat. Well just don't try to murder them with words." He sighs and paws at his left eye. "Yeah, I guess"

I glare at him for a split second. Before a rare smile crosses my lips. That was... kinda funny. Even though it wasn't meant to be.

What, I found something amusing in being told to shut up? Hm. Odd. Well, hopefully this guy knows it was a one time deal. If he ever tells me to stop talking again, oh CloudClan help him....

"Oh, if that were the case, can you imagine how our argument would have ended?" I meowed with a bit of a teasing tone in my words. And holy CloudClan, I was trying to be funny now?! What was this kid doin' to me?

I eyed him warily as the kitten rose a paw to his blazing left eye. I rolled my own river-blue set. "Kid, I wasn't lying when I said before that your eye looked cool. If I said that, I don't quite remember right... but I know I was trying to say something close to that. So just... it's not bad. Don't be embarrassed about a part of you." I paused, and then found myself looking away awkwardly. "Some cats have to deal with an eye gourged out, or maybe something completely worse. You ain't got it bad. An ice blue eye and a blazing red eye? Pfft, no reason to hide that. Show it off, even...."

I trailed off. And then shrugged. "Whatever...... whatever, not my business I guess... but I... anyway, I'm Slatekit."

[Onyxpaw]

Having to force his mouth not to drop in surprise was actually quite hard. "What, smile?" he says confused?"

"If we had kept going we both would have to go to the medicine den with torn throats, and not because of a fight." He adds hastily.

He tilts his head to the side, "It's, not horribly disfiguring and hideous?" He asks jokingly. Though he was surprised she thought it was not ugly he tried to cover it by being funny. "I guess you could be right... Thanks." He smiles as he says it. He nods and says "I'm Onyxkit."

I stopped at his question, my smile instantly vanishing to a deep frown. "What? I'm not smiling." I growled in a tone that said 'i'll end you if you don't agree with me....'

My shoulds rose in a shrug. "Oh yeah. But then Anemonemist would actually have someone to take care of." she grumbled. Though she was pretty sure the grumpy medicine cat wouldn't want that, either... she seemed like the type that hated everyone....

I looked bored at his joke. And I sighed as he went on. "If you even believe me, then you're welcome." I replied. Most cats didn't tend to believe someone else over true facts about their insecurities. I guess you could put me with the rest, if I sat down and actually figured out what my insecurities were in the first place. "Onyxkit? Hm. Nice to... meet you?"

Haha. Wasn't a very nice meeting, though... not in the beginning.

'We could be friends.' a small, childish and hopeful part of me piped up from my head. But I made work of stamping out such ridiculous thinking. 'As if he'd want to be friends with ME.'

[Onyxpaw]

Making a face he says "Yeah, of course not..." He shakes his head as she growls and again forces his fur not to prickle.

Confused he meows "Wait, if she does not take care of us then how is she a medicine cat?" His eyes squint as he says it as if he was computing what she said. "Have you met her?"

HIs head droops as she looks unamused at his joke. "I.. guess I believe you..." He snorts as he hears himself and shakes his head. "Uh, yeah other than ya know... arguing... it was a nice meeting..." He says slowly. He spots the small flare of hope in her eyes but it dwindles and slowly flickers out. He tilts his head to the side ever so slightly and says "Well, I guess you would me to leave now..." He slowly turns around and looks towards his nest

I raised an eyebrow as he questioned our medicine cat. I huffed. "I don't mean she doesn't take care of us, I mean she has no one to take care of. No one gets hurt in RockClan. We're such a small Clan, injuries are... not very common. We're just that lucky, I guess." I shrugged. "And no. Anemonemist doesn't... um... seem to like anyone. She likes her plants more than her Clanmates."

I nodded, "Okay... yeah, not the arguing...." I muttered awkwardly. My eyes widened slightly as Onyxkit turned to leave. But of course he'd want to. I hung my head low sadly. "Oh, uh... whatever... I bet you have things to do...."

(Ugh, I don't know if I should have him leave yet.)

Onyxkit glances back and maths as her head hangs he asks slowly "... Are you ok?" He tilts his head to the side.

{ I gotcha. Let's end the thread, and make another when Onyx becomes and apprentice?? I see the two as good friends someday! ^-^ }



I scowled, whirling around. Hiding my emotions. "Just fine! Why would I not be? Seriously, just go away." I began to storm away.

Even though I told him to go away... I was walking instead... oh well....

Flinching as she whirled around he shakes his head and slowly walks back to his nest, He turns and opens his mouth to speak before he closes it and lays down
