Maggotscreech purred noticeably louder than before. He then stepped over the border to rest his chin on Pain's shoulder- which was slightly awkward as the younger cat was now a little taller than himself.
"I'm proud of how far you've come.". That was the first time he had praised someone in as long as he could remember.

Maggotscreech purred, stepping backwards again onto his side of the barrier and sitting down, wrapping his tail around his pink stained paws. He looked downwards at the ground, smiling as he removed his paw from under his tail to playfully cuff Pain round the head.

Maggotscreech also laughed in a kind of playful way. It was more normal sounding than his usual laugh, anyway.
