Flowerpaw purred as he made his way out of the apprentice's den and into the camp. There was a small smile on his face as he made his way towards the center, pastel green eyes scanning the area for someone who looked like he could start a conversation with. He spotted a kit all by themself. His eyes brightened a bit as he made his way over to them.

"H- hi," He spoke softly, sitting down, "Why are you all alone?"

Rosekit was jumping around and swiping around at the air. Though, it wouldn't be particularly dangerous if someone bumped into her, considering her claws were tiny and essentially harmless. She stopped midair and ended up tripping and fall onto the ground, surprised by some apprentice's greeting. She pushed herself into a sitting position as she shook her head, trying to get the dust and dirt out of her ears. She turned her gaze on Flowerpaw. "Because the other kits are really mean!" She chirped.

Flowerpaw flattened his ears, "Why are the other kits mean?" He asked with a sad frown. Kits had never been mean when he was one of them.

Rosekit huffed. "I met this really mean kit who didn't even seem interested in becoming a warrior one day!" She began. "But then they're saying I'm going to make a lame warrior and they're going to be a better warrior than me!" She complained. She huffed and stared at the ground beside her. "I was just trying to be quiet and sneaky... I think I was doing okay..."

Flowerpaw flattened his ears, "What was their name? Maybe I can talk to them," He offered, his pale green eyes giving off a sympathetic shine, "I'm sure you'll be twice the warrior they will," He purred quietly, "Nobody liked a rude cat."

Rosekit huffed. "I think their name was Pondkit or something." She scoffed. "What the heck is even a pond?!" She complained. "Probably super lame. I'm definitely going to be better than them." She agreed, though still in a rather grumbling manner.

Flowerpaw nodded a little bit, his pink nose twitching. He didn't actually know many cats considering he was too shy to go and meet people. That actually brought a thought into his mind... He didn't even ask the kit what her own name was! The patched cat blushed a little as he began to speak, "So umm, wh- what's your name?" He asked.

Rosekit blinked. "Oh. I just sort of started complaining, didn't I?" She laughed, slightly nervous. "I'm Rosekit. What about you?" She asked. Gah, wasn't one of the first things you did when talking to someone introducing yourself and trading names?

"I- I'm sorry, it's my fault," He frowned although tried to let out a small laugh when Rosekit did so, "Roses are my favourite flower," He had when she introduced herself, "Which I guess is ironic because my name's Flowerpaw."

Rosekit huffed. "I was the one complaining!" She barely managed to not whine. She blinked. "Huh. Our names are pretty similar then, right?" Though, she wasn't sure what a rose looked like aside from the fact that apparently it was pretty pointy.

Flowerpaw nodded slowly, keeping silent as he decided not to say anything more. He already felt like he was doing the wrong thing as he had made Rosekit mad. Or he thought he had anyway. He glanced down at his black and white forepaws, a small frown on his tan and white face.

Rosekit huffed. "You getting bored?" She asked, though it came off a little insistent. Flowerpaw was staring down at his paws, was he trying to avoid her eyes? Or was she simply reading too much into it? Honestly, she wasn't really sure. She wasn't too great at reading cats yet....

Flowerpaw shook his head when Rosekit asked the question. Did he look like he was bored? He hoped not as he didn't want the younger cat to feel like she was boring. "No. S- sorry," He apologised for no reason, looking back up at Rose kit witg a tiny smile.
