give me time and give me space Whitepaw continued to stay focused, his eyes cast towards where he would pounce and his ears upwards so that he could still hear Dapplecloud's movement. The apprentice tried to stay as still and quiet as he could, worried that he'd lose balance somehow. However, when he heard a louder noise from the bushes, his blue eyes widened at the sight of a mouse running out of it and straight towards him. Whitepaw crouched down a little further while the mouse ran before leaping upwards with only his front paws. Once it arrived, the tom's black paws landed straight on the mouse's back and he leaned down to sink his teeth into it as far as he could.
Whitepaw let out a small purr when he saw that the mouse was dead and only slightly bleeding. He picked it up with a smile and carried it towards the calico warrior, swishing his long tail as he looked her in the eyes with pride.

Dapplecloud I nodded in satisfaction: his hunting skills were good enough, so that he would not need any further testing on this. "That's a good, clean kill you have there. Now we'll begin the battle portion: bury that mouse and follow me when you're ready." I added, turning slightly to the left and pushing in a straight line through the brush, to a good spot I had found the previous day for a challenging, but not impossible, battle assessment.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw purred as he nodded in response, walking towards a tree that he'd be able to remember. He dug a small hole there and buried the dead mouse in the hole, quickly making some claw marks over it. Hurrying, Whitepaw ran towards Dapplecloud, trying not to get left behind as he made his way towards the direction the warrior was going in. He eventually caught up.

Dapplecloud Having sat down to wait, I stood up once more when Whitepaw arrived. I had chosen a rather tricky spot to battle: instead of the open plain where we had first practiced, through his training he would have hopefully become more adapted to the environment of RockClan. The clearing itself was small, densely surrounded by what little undergrowth there was left. I was backed up slightly against a large boulder, and numerous smaller boulders were scattered around the area. "Good, you're here. This is to test both your battle skills and your ability to adapt to the environment." I said, flicking my tail at the surrounding area. "To pass this, you simply need to spar with me until I would have been defeated, as an enemy warrior. You can start when you're ready."

give me time and give me space -I've had so little muse for ages, but I don't wanna keep you waiting <3-
Whitepaw smiled as he crouched down a little, half sitting down yet half standing to try and get comfortable without looking lazy. His black ears twitched slightly as he listened to the information given about what was going to happen- fighting and adapting, he guessed he could do that pretty easily, it wasn't like they were in some sort of new territory so he knew how to not die falling off of a rock.
Standing up straight, Whitepaw backed up a few pawsteps and observed the surrounding area before looking at Dapplecloud, staying still for a moment before finally deciding to try and simply initiate the spar by doing what he had been taught previously, running around her.

(Bad formatting because I'm on my phone at school Also, I hope you get some of your must back soon! It's be terrible if your art and roleplaying skills died out ;D) Watching the apprentice I explained, I noticed he was rather relaxed. Hopefully this meant he wasn't stressed as he backed up and began to run. Seeing him swerve at the last second, I saw what he was trying to do: circle around. Leaping a few yards away, I turned quickly so I was facing him and the rock wall again, in a defensive position.

give me time and give me space -My poor muse... I can barely get 100 words in a post now-
Whitepaw grunted silently when Dapplecloud jumped away a few feet and moved into a defense position. He quickly got down into a crouch, long legs bent as he got ready to try and pounce on her. Maybe that way he could try to get her off balance. He kind of doubted it but it was worth a shot.

Dapplecloud Whitepaw was just as fast as I had remembered: with those long legs, he crossed the distance in a few heartbeats, so I had just enough time to turn and he hit my shoulder instead: I still felt dull pain from the blow, but I had blocked some of it. Raising a paw off the ground, I aimed for a close-quarters cuff at the side of his head.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw let out an involuntary quiet hiss when Dapplecloud's large paw cuffed his head, stumbling a little bit but managing to stay standing, even if it meant that he had to crouch in order to not fall on his side. From his lowered position, the young black cat made an attempt to slam his body into the warrior's legs.

Dapplecloud Despite taking a hit from one of my paws, Whitepaw managed to stay standing and ran, surprisingly, not at my side or face, but at my forelegs. There was little way to block this in the cramped environment, and I was too slow to jump, so my legs shook as he hit them, most prominently my left leg, having an old, deep scar. Hissing under my breath, I again ran to the side as quickly as I could, raising my left leg to try and land another blow, at his side, putting most of my weight on the three legs that weren't starting to ache.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw grinned when he saw that his attack had affected Dapplecloud, taking pride in the fact that his actions had done so to an experienced warrior when he himself had only just reached the end of his apprentice moons. He let out a purr but quickly stopped when he was given a blow to his side that left him tumbling onto his flank on the floor. The black and white cat couldn't help but be only slightly worried that this would affect him becoming a warrior, however, he quickly made an attempt to recover as he tried to use his lowered position to his advantage; Whitepaw then aimed his front legs at the calico's hind legs.

Dapplecloud I definitely wasn't expecting this. Though I was slightly worried when I knocked Whitepaw over, he recovered by once again, repeating the move at my hind legs. Losing my balance due to my left leg already aching somewhat, I stumbled and fell back, into a crouching position as I struggled to regain my balance. However knowing it had gone on long enough, I stood up, not in a battle position. "All right, that's the end. You did very well; those moves certainly were unexpected. And of course, you would have known what to do next." Any warrior that was off-balance but not running away was a easy target to chase off. "That's the end of the assessment: you hunted well, and defeated a warrior in a spar, using your knowledge of the environment around RockClan territory, so I'd say I can speak to Cloverstar soon about your assessment. What do you say?"(Decided to end it here, my muse is starting to die from all the essays too :p)

-Just gonna put a short post with him replying then I'll go post in the ceremony board <3-
Whitepaw gave a white, toothy grin when Dapplecloud moved herself into a standing position- this time more casual than defensive. He purred at that, realising that it meant the assessment was over as they had finally covered everything. His smiled remained as the older cat spoke, proud of himself when he was told that he had done good in the session. His blue eyes lit up when he was told that Cloverstar would be informed of the assessment- that meant that he'd succeeded!
He nodded with enthusiasm.
