WindCry, had been up and planning the days exercise with much organization. He sighed. Time to get the little kitty up. He headed towards the apprentice den. Finding a strange emotion, over come him. Not long ago he was there. He was every bit qualified to mentor it was just so fast and the transition was a bit choppy. "SpeckelPaw!" He called not bothering to be quiet he new as did any-other cat whisper or not everyone was going to wake up. Sitting down by the tunnel he lapped at his coat to settle his nerves.

I awoke with a start, not only at the rush of cold air through the entrance of the apprentices' den, but a voice calling loudly into the den. I recognized it as my mentor's voice from the previous day, and jumped up quickly. Was I late for training? Quickly licking down my tufted-up fur, I raced out of the den, heading toward the entrance and slewing to a halt in front of Windcry. "Hi, Windcry! Are we starting training now?" I said quickly, hiding my nervous feelings with jubilance, both in my voice and my mind. I would finally be able to see outside the camp walls for once!

He slowly looked up from his pelt, "Yes now would be as good as time as any." He got to his large paws and gave a small grin. "Lets get something to eat before we head out it will be a rather long day." He turned and snipped a mouse out for him self. Quickly and neatly eating and disposing of it he waited patiently for Speckle. "Lets get a move on," he turned and padded through the tunnel.

I nodded and quickly trotted to the fresh-kill pile, picking out a mouse and eating it quickly. After taking care of the remains, I then hurriedly rushed out the camp entrance after him. However, I then skidded to a halt at the wide expanse of land before me. I had never been out of camp before, so it was a sight to behold. Long, rolling fields of grass, though blackened and dying in the cold of leaf-bare, went on as far as I could see. The cliffs I had seen from above the camp walls were in the distance, like great sentinels over the moor. "Wow." I said, slightly stunned.

He was amused by her state or 'awe' he nodded "It's rather pretty isn't it." He gave a warm smile and turned in the direction of Iceclan. Though there scent was fading he hoped she might detect something before heading towards Treeclan. With a small flick of his tail he started a easy pace. "I want you to tell my if you notice anything out of the ordinary all right,"

I heard his question, and I was looking around to scan the area. Then I realized; what was out of the ordinary? I couldn't really see, or hear, or smell anything strange at the moment. I turned and realized that my mentor was already several meters away, and I hurried to catch up. We were heading in the direction of the far-off cliffs. "Which border are we visiting?" I asked.

"Iceclan," or whats left he silently added. He shifted the scent was faint.. that was for sure. He nodded to where the line was originally made. "You might get a better whiff if you get closer." He motioned for her to go on ahead. After a moment of that he turned. "Anything you would like to know about Iceclan while we are here?"

I padded closer, opening my jaws to take in a big whiff of the scent. However, I quickly recoiled, gagging slightly. Unlike FireClan cats, who smelled pleasantly of the prairie and rabbits, an unfamiliar scent had hit me off guard. "Well, I've got just a quick question... I know they live in the mountains, but what are they like?" Realizing this was a vague question, I added, "Like, what do they eat? Do you know how they fight?"

He was glad by her rather intellectual question. "They hunt like we do, and also are able to fish." He said with a small smile, fishing is something he would not care to do. "They fight with wider stances cause they are typical larger than us. They also use there legs for leap attacks or faster strikes to there advantage they are known for having very strong frames to carry them through there mountain terrain home." He nodded, to him self satisfied with his answer. To rockclan,

I shivered. So the descriptions from the more experienced apprentices were true. Mountain cats... if they were that big, they had to be strong. Then again, they had to be slow, too. So that's at least one advantage of being a FireClan cat... I thought. Noticing that Windcry had gone on ahead, I trotted quickly to catch up, stopping before yet another cliff. Craning my neck back again, I could see rugged terrain and a few scrubby trees. "Er... is this still IceClan?" I asked. I opened my jaws for a whiff of their scent, and was hit with a more rancid one than before. Recoiling, I kept my mouth shut to avoid inhaling anything else and looked at my mentor.
