Another day, another border check. I think things had gone well last time I came here. My father and I had made amends, and though everything wasn't shiny and perfect, it was still better than it had ever been many moons ago. I was going to make this quick, but it seemed that I couldn't avoid conversations with cats. A she-cat, a queen by the smell of the nursery on her, was at the border. Awkwardly, I gave her a silent nod in greeting. "Good evening. Why might a queen be out this far this late?" I asked politely, though I felt a bit hostile considering this was a FireClanner in front of me. Fawnskip

Fawnskip Fawnskip felt like she needed fresh air, but nearly decided to go back as soon as the cold breeze hit her. The tabby stretched her legs as she exited the camp and went for a long walk. The queen got drowned in random thoughts along the way, and made a quick halt as she realized she was very close to the border, and panicked. My days of fighting are over.. Let me get home safe! The tabby was about to turn until she heard a voice, she was uneasy, but felt like there was no harm. Fawnskip nodded back, slowly. "Evening, and.. Just wanted to take a walk, it's quite nice out."

I could feel the tension between us, very obvious. I was probably a threat out of the fact I was a warrior and she was a queen. Sometimes the queens didn't have time to work on their battle skills, but lucky for her, no one here was looking for a fight. My shoulders bounced as I shrugged. "A bit chilly, but yes."
I paused, unsure exactly what to say or if I should leave her be. "I'm not here for trouble," I said instead, shaking my head. "I was just checking on the borders. It's a habit I have." Was I trying to ease her mind?

Fawnskip Fawnskip blinked a few times, considering his comment before nodding in agreement. Her short fur made her realize how she's definitely not used to the cold. "Oh?" she said to the TreeClan cat, "That's good to hear," she said simply. Her muscles became less tense, but she felt she was good enough to be able to sprint if she had to. But.. He doesn't seem like he'd want to hurt anyone at this time.

I gave a small smile to the she-cat, which was rare to outsiders. "There is no war. We are at peace. I would have attacked you even if there was a war between our clans." I sat on the leaf-covered ground, right beside the border. "Who are you? I met a few queens before, but I don't recall if I've met you or not."
I paused. "I am Arrowstrike. TreeClan's deputy."

Fawnskip Fawnskip gave a smile back, just before sitting down. "I'm Fawnskip, I'm a newer queen to FireClan." The tabby didn't know how to feel, knowing that now she was talking to another clan's deputy, "Oh? I may have heard of you, especially since you're a deputy. But it's nice to meet you."

I nodded. That probably explained why I didn't know her. "Nice to meet you as well, Fawnskip," I meowed. "We haven't had a Gathering in a long time, so that must be why we have yet to meet." I chuckled. "Being deputy isn't as great as it seems, but it's an honor you think so highly of me."

Fawnskip Fawnskip nodded, not even remembering if she had actually been to a Gathering or not. Being a queen, she'd probably stay, anyway, in case Rainlight wanted to go. Fawnskip shrugged slightly, "Well, it still seems like Deputies have quite a lot of work, being an important rank of any clan."

I nodded. "Yes, but not as much as the leaders." Though I'm practically running my clan at this point... My eyes flicked over to the she-cat, my head tilted. "Now that I think about it, perhaps you seem a bit familiar. I used to live in FireClan when I was younger before I was taken."

Fawnskip Fawnskip tilted her head slightly, "Really?" she mewed, "I didn't really know many when I was in FireClan, but you may have seen me." She paused, "Taken?" she said out loud accidentally, being curious was a strong trait of her's.

I nodded. "As weird as it sounds for a deputy in a different clan having lived in a different clan, it happened." I paused. Whoops, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that. "When I was an apprentice, I was hunting. A group of twolegs spotted me and captured me. That's why I have the name Arrow."

Fawnskip Fawnskip shrugged, "It might have happened before," she said casually. The tabby widened her eyes, "Twolegs?" she nearly exclaimed, "I was a little curious on your name, it's interesting to know that it came from twolegs. But you escaped?"

I nodded. "I hated being there, but the name had its appeal." I lifted one of my dark paws to clean it. "I did. I managed to sneak out during the night because their den had an opening. And I came back here, since it was my first home."

Fawnskip Fawnskip frowned a bit, "But.. they didn't hurt you?" she asked, knowing that she knows about nothing of the twolegs, other any outsiders besides the clans. "That makes sense, did you move to FireClan from TreeClan when you were a kit, then?"

I shook my head. "No, I was unharmed. They did put me in water and put this smelly stuff in my fur though. It was terrible." I nodded in response to her question. "Yes, my father was originally from TreeClan. He left for reasons, and my mother followed him. My siblings and I were young, but I didn't want to go to FireClan."
