Eveningwhisper woke up with a yawn. Today, she had to train Brightpaw. She rose to her paws, and grabbed a vole and ate it quickly. She searched the pile, and grabbed a mouse for Brightpaw to eat before they left. It would be a long day. She planned on being out until at least sunhigh. She had a lot planned for the day. She poked her head in the what seemed to be overcrowded apprentices' den. "Brightpaw, its time to get up." She called softly. Adaline

Brightpaw, in fact, had not slept in camp. She had left the camp and curled up in a spot not too far from the camp entrance. She didn't sleep well, to say the least. Still, she did get some form of rest. It was better than her sleep for the time before though, having been sleeping whilst completely on edge in the nursery. Aloekit and Almondpaw had left much too strong of an impression on her... She did get some satisfaction at the idea of leaving Aloekit behind in the nursery.
She dragged herself into camp, snow clinging to her pelt and sat down by the camp exit. She turned her head to see.... Eveningwhisper poking her head in the apprentice's den. She cleared her throat loudly. "I'm over here."

Eveningwhisper lifted her head when she heard Brightpaw call her. "Hmm? Oh, I'm sorry. I assumed you slept in the apprentices' den." She trotted over to the young apprentice. She placed the mouse at her paws. "You should eat this before we go. We have a lot to learn today." She meowed with a smile.

Brightpaw looked down at the mouse that Eveningwhisper had dropped at her paws. Quietly, she lowered herself and made quick work of it. Then she stood back up. "Okay, can we go now?" She asked, impatience edging her voice. She wanted to know what the territory was like now, so she could figure out a place that she could go where no one else would. Well, aside from Mudpaw.

"Glad to see you're so eager." She smiled. "Lets go." The ginger tabby lead the way, but kept a close eye on Brightpaw. She wasn't going to let a repeat happen of what Mudpaw did when she'd snuck him out when he was a kit. He basically guilted her into it.

Brightpaw sighed and followed after Eveningwhisper, noticing how she was keeping a close eye on her. Her ears folded back. What, did her mentor think she was going to go off and do something stupid? She huffed. She looked around as she walked behind the older she-cat.

"Alright, you see those trees over there? That's TreeClan. They climb the trees like squirrels, strange, eh?" She flicked her tail. She stopped once they reached the border. "Feel free to look around on our side of the border." Eveningwhisper meowed, although she assumed the apprentice already knew that.

Brightpaw looked over to see the trees that Eveningwhisper was talking about. Her eyes widened, seeing the strange trees. The trees were... A lot cooler than she imagined. Though, the climbing part did seem a little weird. She wondered if it was hard... Probably was, if Fireclan didn't climb trees too. Though, they did have a distinct lack of trees in their territory.
In the corner of her eye, something caught her attention. She immediately wandered off, silently. She had a natural talent for sneaking about silently and without notice. Which, would be rather unfortunate for Eveningwhisper.

Eveningwhisper was busy sniffing at the borders to make sure TreeClan didn't change anything or cross it, and didn't notice that Brightpaw wandered off. "Alright, we're all done here, ready to go to the next border, Brightpaw?" She asked, and didn't get a response. "Brightpaw?" She looked around. Oh seriously? Not again! "Brightpaw!" She called, before picking up the apprentice's scent. Eveningwhisper followed it until she found the she-cat. "Brightpaw! Seriously, don't wander off like that again, ok?" She scolded the apprentice. "We're heading off to the RockClan border. Keep up." Eveningwhisper said, flicking her tail.

Brightpaw had noticed a bird and had chased after it. Now she was holding a beautiful, white feather in her teeth. She was being careful with it. Then she turned around, noticing she'd left Eveningwhisper behind.
How good was she a mentor if an apprentice escaped her notice...? Or perhaps it was her stealthiness. She wasn't sure, if she was being honest.
She flattened her ears, but followed obediently, taking the feather with her.

"We're almost at the RockClan border. Just watch your step, some of the stones around are pointy and can make your pads bleed. There's also stories of Adders being there too, but I haven't seen one." She meowed. They arrived at the RockClan border shortly after. This time, Eveningwhisper kept a close eye on Brightpaw, making sure she didn't wander off again.

Brightpaw didn't exactly know what an adder was, but she could glean from the context that it wasn't a good thing. She simply listened to Eveningwhisper's words and followed after the older she-cat. This time, she didn't spot anything to distract her, so Eveningwhisper's surveillance didn't do much else but annoy Brightpaw a bit.

"Alright, so now that you know where all the borders are, we're moving onto training. Which would you rather do first? Hunting or fighting? We'll get all the basics in today." Eveningwhisper explained with a flick of her tail. She'd let Brightpaw have some input on the matter, and it didn't matter which one they did first.

Brightpaw wasn't too sure about her ability to keep her feather safe throughout training, so she'd dropped it somewhere she could pick it up later.
"Fighting. I want to learn to fight." She said without hesitation.

"Alright then. We'll do battle training first." Eveningwhisper stood tall and firm. "We'll start off by seeing what you know. Remember, keep your claws sheathed, alright?" She instructed, waiting for the apprentice to come at her.
