WillowspiritAshfire woke up with a yawn. It was slightly pass dawn, the perfect time to start training. The grey she-cat grabbed a mouse from the prey-pile and quickly ate her meal, before approaching the apprentices' den. "Willowpaw? It's time to get up. Take anything from the prey-pile and eat it quick so we can get moving." She said, flicking her tail.

Willowpaw immediately perked up when she saw her mentor peering into the den, and immediately she got to her paws, walking over to the older warrior. "Don't worry, I already ate!" Willowpaw had barely been able to sleep the night before, thrilled to her bones with being an apprentice. "What are we gonna do first, Ashfire?"

Ashfire smirked at Willowpaw's enthusiasm. "Glad to see you're a morning person." She said, before flicking her tail. "We'll be taking a territory tour, and possibly to some actual training, like hunting and battle training. Any objections?" She asked, raising a kitty-brow.

"That's perfect!" Willowpaw mewed. There weren't many times that she'd had any fun with other kits in the nursery, she absolutely craved the freedom that being able to go out of the camp and get away would give her. "I'd love to learn how to fight, I've already gotten into one of those." She twitched a nicked ear.

Ashfire nodded. Playfights don't count, kid. She thought before clearing her throat. "Alright then. Shall we head out then?" She asked, before slowly starting to walk towards the exit of the camp, not really waiting for Willowpaw's response.

"Okay!" Quickly, Willowpaw padded after her mentor, shivering with excitement as they reached the edge of camp. "What's our territory like?" She knew that it was grasslands, but that would didn't really mean anything to her.

"Hmm, mostly hills and grass. A few trees here and there, but the most trees you'll ever see are at the TreeClan border, where we're heading right now." She said. "Although for you, the territory is hills and snow, since leafbare is the season that you were apprenticed." Ashfire said, flicking her tail.

"Oh.." That didn't sound to interesting, if Willowpaw was being honest. In fact, it just sounded like nothing, open spaces with nothing around for her to do. "Well," She cleared her throat, inwardly scolding herself for being such a whiner. "Okay, let's go see it!" She continued to follow Ashfire.

"Yeah, it's not much compared to what TreeClanners live in, but this is home for us. And we're proud of it. It's more fun when there are rabbits to chase." She purred. She continued to walk towards the TreeClan border, until the trees were in sight. "And yes, those are trees, if you were wondering."

"A willow is a type of tree too, right?" She asked, walking closer to the trees so that she could inspect them, but not getting too close, since she wasn't exactly sure where the Treeclan border was. It was close, she could certainly smell that. "Are any of these willows..?"

"Yes, a Willow is a tree." She meowed, before watching her apprentice inspect the trees. TreeClan was mostly built up of Beech and Oak trees, from what Ashfire knew. "I think that one might be a Willow." She pointed with her tail. "You see those long string things coming down that are frozen with ice. Those are the leaves, cool huh?"

"Yeah.." Willowpaw breathed, admiring her namesake with wide eyes, taking in every frosty detail, before turning back to Ashfire. "So, uh. Anyways, what next?" This border was pretty easy, the woody smell of Treeclan, and the huge forest made it impossible to miss. "Is the other border Rockclan? Or, uh.. Iceclan?"

"The other border is RockClan. You can see the mountains of IceClan from RockClan's border. I'm glad we're not bordered with IceClan. Heard there was an avalanche or something during New-leaf. Flooded the territories. If I remember correctly." She said. She didn't recall correctly if that's what happened. "Oh, and once we get to the RockClan border. A warrior got bit there once, a long time ago by an adder. Luckily, Forestbreak, one of our old medicine cats was there. Saved him." She told the apprentice. Ashfire had heard the story off of gossip from other warriors.

Willowpaw listened intently, shivering with fear at the thought of a snake biting her, how she would be unable to do anything to stop the poison, putting her life in the paws of the medicine cat. "Well.. I won't get bit by any snakes! I'll kill all the snakes, then they won't bite anyone ever again!" She declared boldly, beginning to walk away from the Treeclan border, and waiting for Ashfire to lead her.

Ashfire caught up to the apprentice and walked beside her. "It's a heroic thought, but there are a lot of adders hiding in the rocks. I avoid patrolling that border, or hunt by it." She said, flicking an ear. The young minds of apprentices still didn't fully comprehend the world like full grown warriors did. But that's what mentors were for.
