Shiningpaw nodded and tried to copy the stance. She, unfortunatly, lost her balance and fell, so she tried again, this time atleast managing to stay upright his time.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw blinked unemotionally as the apprentice fell, but then he sat up to take a better look at her when she tried again. "Decent, now let's see if we can find prey." The tabby nodded, "Can you smell anything?"

Shiningpaw sniffed the air and thought for a moment. "Is that rabbit?" she asked once she linked the corrilation to the dead verson she knew.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw nodded, remembering the scent well. "Let's go find it," he mewed, letting her lead. He thought it would be smart to let her find it, but he would catch it, to show her first.

Shiningpaw nodded and sniffed the air once more before travling in the general direction, stopping every now and then to make sure she didn't get to close and wasn't off track.

Hazelclaw As soon as he spotted it, he stopped, realizing his apprentice did well. He nodded towards it, and dropped into a hunting crouch and started moving, smoothly forward. He dodged all obstacles and went to pounce once he got close, trapping, and quickly killing the rabbit with a bite to the spine.
He picked up the prey and traveled back to Shiningpaw. "Would you like to try?"

"Sure." she responded, a bit stunned by Hazelclaw's presentation, but she quickly shook it off, hunting down another peice of prey, crouching down and approaching, avoiding any objects of the ground. When she pounced though, she didn't kill it fast enough, and the little mouse ran off.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw watched as she attempted her first catch. He blinked, emotionless. "Try to be quicker," he said simply, before sitting down and glancing at the direction the mouse went off to. "As soon as you feel something beneath your paws, snap it's neck with your teeth."

"Yes sir," she responded, tracking down another mouse and catching it that time, snapping it's neck imediatly as Hazelclaw had said. "Like that?" she asked, dropping the mouse infront of her when she turned to face her mentor.

Hazelclaw His face softened as he watched her from a distance, "That's exactly how," he stated. "We can go with a little more practice.. and if you have any questions, just ask, I guess."
The tabby huffed, "We might be able to fight a little bit of battle training today."
