Fawnskip Fawnskip needed a well deserved break from the nursery, knowing how many kits there are. She decided to rest, a little close to the apprentice's den, neatly laying down with her paws tucked underneath her.

-so many threads to reply to, so little muse-
mudpaw grinned as he stepped out of the apprentices' den, swishing his tail from side to side slowly. he turned his head and looked around the camp, trying to see if there was anyone he could talk to. after maybe ten seconds of scanning, his green eyes focused on a pale pelt he recognised from kithood. "hello, ma," he said, remaining stood up as he looked down at her laying form.

Fawnskip Fawnskip blinked warmly, as she watched a familiar apprentice come out of the den. Mudpaw now, then? I wonder who his mentor is.. she thought silently. "Hi, Mudpaw. How are you, today?" she asked with a small purr.

mudpaw smiled as he slowly lowered himself to lie on his stomach, purring as he spoke back to fawnskip, purring softly, "i've been pretty good, nothing really interesting's happened today?" he continued, "how've you been?" he asked.

Fawnskip Fawnskip gave a small shrug, "Everyone gets those days," she said with a small smile. "I've been quite well! Despite the cold, can't wait for spring."

Fawnskip "Umm.. well..." she thought, "You know how the grass is green.. or really invisible, since the snow, but you can see some now? It.. gets dry enough to turn yellow, and there is no snow, and few water, really." The tabby smiled, "But you won't melt, don't worry."

mudpaw's green eyes widened. grass changed colour twice? how strange! "the grass changed colour again? does it do that all the time?" he asked, looking behind him at the territory, where he could only see a few strands of the grass peaking out through the snow. "if there's no water, then what do we drink?"

Fawnskip Fawnskip smiled, "It's mainly brown and yellow during Green-leaf, and turns green during New-leaf." The tabby shrugged, "It happens nearly every year, sometimes it lasts longer if we have droughts or other things." "Oh water? We don't lose it all," she mewed, "For the kittens, we sometimes have warriors bring back wet moss from streams and stuff."

mudpaw nodded, a little uncomfortable at the thought of a drought. he didn't want one of those to happen, especially not during his lifetime. "there's not gonna be a drought though, right? i don't wanna die of thirst," he stated, smirking slightly for no apparent reason.
he nodded, "oh, okay," he responded, "sounds gross... sucking on wet moss, i mean."

Fawnskip "I don't think I was here when one happened, so I think it's unlikely that a drought will occur any time soon." The queen shifted her weight to the other side. "Well, it's better than being thirsty, right?" "How's training, by the way?" she asked with a warm smile.

mudpaw nodded, mumbling, "yeah, i guess."
the young apprentice tilted his head slightly, "training's going okay, i guess," he said, "i've not really done much in training yet, but it's going fine,"

Fawnskip Fawnskip sighed, "Better than nothing," she stated. "Have you thought of a warrior name you would like?"
