((SO UHHH you wanted shorter posts b/c long posts are intimidating, yeah? This seem better?))
Brightpaw was glad that Willowpaw was accepting of her idea. Her idea of admittedly dubious morality, but given their intended victims... It didn't seem like either of the tabby apprentices were keen on feeling remorse for even such a thought crossing their minds. The sandy apprentice at the very least, didn't feel like Almondpaw and Aloekit deserved mercy. Not anymore. Brightpaw had patience and she had forgiveness. But her patience had run out and her forgiveness was not for those two.
Brightpaw nodded. "Yeah. Though... Honestly? We're probably going to become warriors before Aloekit. That'll probably get under his skin enough. Hard to call us weaklings when we outrank him, yeah?" She hummed in response. "Well... Honestly? Almondpaw seems to get kind of mad when her victim doesn't react the way she wants them to immediately." She tilted her head. "Honestly, I think showing her that no matter how hard she tries, or how angry she gets... She won't be able to change the situation in her favor." She shrugged.
"Regardless of our intent, it is a good lesson actually. Tch. Almondpaw needs to learn that sometimes life just isn't fair, and not everything will come to her on a silver platter."
((lmao i have no idea how psychology works. tbh it's kind of hard to rp someone whose a lot smarter than you are))

"You're right. She'll only have power over us if we let her, and she won't be able to match me in combat." Willowpaw smiled slightly as they plotted out their revenge, flicking her nicked ear. "I mean.. I don't know how much you've been training in fighting, but it's still probably more than she has. And even if you have any trouble, I've got you. She can't take on the two of us at once, and Aloekit is completely useless." Being able to support Brightpaw made Willowpaw feel stronger, even if they never fought Almondpaw, just knowing that she could might be enough to satisfy her.
Willowpaw thought for a moment, trying to help come up with ways that they could break their sister. She'd stopped thinking about whether or not this was right, Willowpaw was certain that the two awful cats deserved this. "We need to make her feel like we did. Useless, and out-casted, and helpless. We could even sabotage her training somehow, or put gross things in her nest.." Willowpaw thought that was fine because Almondpaw wouldn't hesitate to do the same if given the opportunity, she once put a spider in Willowpaw's nest just for laughs.
"Maybe she'll even leave Fireclan, and take Aloekit with her. That'll pretty much solve all of our problems, at least mine." Willowpaw added. She was tired of feeling frustrated and afraid all of the time, she needed to prove to herself that her siblings weren't right about her. Insecurity was constantly gnawing on the silver she-cat, pushing her to do whatever it took to feel like she mattered, and Willowpaw just wanted to be at peace with herself for once.
((okay true, also yeah thanks for trimming it down!))

Brightpaw nodded solemnly. "Honestly, I've been practicing dodging. It would probably make her mad if she tried to fight me, and couldn't even touch me." She shrugged. "Especially with such an evasive tactic, she'd possibly lose her temper." She sighed. "Eveningwhisper barely touched upon battle training... But I trained on my own. I also sparred with a friend once." Then a thought crossed her mind. "Though, dodging isn't the only thing I've been practicing. I've had to do it on my own... But I think I'm good." She nodded again.
"Yeah." With a roll of her eyes, she continued. "No matter how good Almondpaw think she is, she can't fight off two cats at once. Especially if she's frustrated. You know, anger can be a focus. It can bolster you. Unless it's the wrong kind of anger. Then you just turn into a bumbling moron and forget any and all techniques you've learned." She grinned.
Brightpaw hummed in response. "Well... The easiest thing we could do is blind her. But... I'm not sure if we want to go that far." She sighed. "I've thought of a lot of different things I could do to hurt her, but honestly... I don't want to be that extreme. Just... Figured I'd point out the option." She hummed in response. "We could always kick her butt and find a ditch to leave her in or something." She suggested. "... We could tear off an ear. Like, clean off. That's pretty traumatizing. But... Again, I'm not sure about even partway crippling anyone really."
She hummed in response. "You know, that'd be nice. I mean... I still have problems with... The rest of our family, really. Well.. Maybe not Puppypaw and Spottedpaw so much but still..."

"Do you think that Almondpaw would hesitate to rip your ear off? No. She'd tear off both of them given the chance, and whatever else she could get at. We need to do whatever we can to teach her a lesson.." Willowpaw practically spit out, all of the hostility in her voice aimed at Almondpaw, and not the sibling she as speaking to. She wanted her claws to sink into Almondpaw's skin and feel her blood dripping onto her white paws, staining it red. Willowpaw's tail lashed, all she could think about was finding Almondpaw as soon as possible and destroying her.
But they had already gone over that the two of them would exact their revenge much more slowly and painfully. Willowpaw could control herself as long as she knew that Almondpaw would be put through everything Willowpaw had been through.
"We could scar up her pretty little face. Maybe, if we're lucky, we can get one of her eyes. How threatening can a one-eyed cat be?" Willowpaw hoped that if it happened, she would be the one to deal the blow. "..But it still wouldn't be sinking to her level. We aren't doing this for fun, and as soon as she learns her lesson, we can leave her alone." Willowpaw quickly added, not wanting to repel Brightpaw with her extreme bloodlust. But then again, maybe Brightpaw was just as eager to do this as she was. "Violence isn't the goal, but if it needs to happen when we're breaking her, well.." She trailed off, a hint of a smirk on her face.
"Yeah.. Our family is pretty awful. But aren't Almondpaw and Aloekit the worst of the bunch? I'd just.. feel like I've actually accomplished something if I could get them to stop." Willowpaw nodded, adding as an afterthought.
((lolololol you think brightpaw's vengeful? *points at willow*))

((Fair point... But, you also have to look at how Brightpaw started out. She's practically done a 180.))
Brightpaw paused. "Good point." She conceded. "She'd probably tear off my eyes or gouge my eyes out... Then she'd justify it to herself as 'weaklings don't get to have functioning ears and eyes.' Tch. Honestly, she's probably deluded herself into thinking she's in the right here, hurting whomever she deems unworthy." She rolled her eyes. "Which is everyone who isn't a little psychopath like herself and Aloekit." She huffed.
She shrugged. "I think blinding both eyes would be enough. Imagine the blow. Almondpaw would have to readjust and accustom to being blind. From what I've seen of Aloekit, I really doubt he'd be sympathetic to Almondpaw losing her sight. You could do it in one clean strike, while she was sleeping. Of course, she'd probably scream, unused to that sort of pain that would come with damage to her eyes." She pawed at the ground roughly. "... I know what you mean." Even as she wanted to really make Almondpaw scream. Of course, the thought both horrified her and made her feel validated in her anger.
... Yeah, it was better to stick to something she felt comfortable doing.
"But hopefully, it won't come to blinding. Maybe if we just beat her, and badly... She'll back off and... I don't know. Reevaluate her life choices...? Probably not, but getting her to stop hurting others is the goal here. Not making her a decent person."
She took a deep breath.
"I'm... I'm not sure. Would it really be that fulfilling...? I know it's something we really should do, but...."

"I think it would be worth it." Willowpaw stated confidently, unmoving in her decision. "I don't think I'll ever be able to feel right until I do something about them. I don't know about you, but.. I need to show them that they were wrong." Willowpaw didn't understand why Brightpaw was starting to question their plan, especially since she had been the one to first suggest emotionally attacking Almondpaw, gaslighting her until she burned out.
Her claws scored the ground beneath her, her tail lashing and she went on. "Don't you feel awful, all the time? Like, no matter how much you hunt, or how well you fight, none of it matters because in their eyes, you're still nothing." Willowpaw's voice grew strained as she continued; she had never actually said any of these things out loud before. "I don't even need them to change their minds about me, I just want to prove that I'm worth it to myself." Feeling rather weak for saying something like that, Willowpaw looked down at the ground.
"And they aren't just a danger to us, remember? Almondpaw will go after anyone, just because she thinks it's fun. Neutralizing her is the right thing to do." Willowpaw changed her argument from being emotional to being logical, looking past Brightpaw and not meeting her eyes.
((okay, you right..))

Brightpaw shook her head. "I wasn't questioning whether we should do it or not. I was just... Questioning the satisfaction you seem to believe lies for us at the end of this path we've chosen." She took a deep breath. "I know what you mean. I want to show them I'm not a crybaby. Preferably by laughing in their face." She blinked. "Does... Does that sound sadistic?" She shuffled her paws awkwardly.
She looked on. ".... Sometimes I can forget it. When I'm with my friend." She whispered. "But... I hate living in fear of them. I want to hurt them. I want to make them suffer. I really do." She shook her head. "I'm not sure I'll be alright until they understand that I'm not weak. If it came down to it... And I don't think it ever would... But if there ever was a situation where they needed to die, I'd be willing to kill them." She sighed. "They probably wouldn't need to die, unless they got kicked out for murder and then tried to come back, but.... It's the thought." She shut her eyes. "I hate them that much. Is that bad?"
She shook her head gently. "Probably." She sighed. "I know that. We need to get them to stop. Whatever the cost... As long as we don't kill them. I don't want to be a murderer."

Willowpaw breathed out softly, being filled with a fierce determination that didn't quell the hot rage inside of her, but instead focused and directed her seething anger towards a goal. The savage look in her eyes skirted the edges of being that of a rogue's, or at least a seasoned and battle-hardened warrior. "No, I understand how you're feeling.. Trust me, I've questioned whether I should get revenge on them or not, even if it feels right," Willowpaw tried to control herself from raising her voice or scratching the ground, she needed to get a hold on her temper.
"And I've come to the conclusion that this is something I need to do. For myself, and for others." Her plumed tail swept against the cold ground. Willowpaw no longer noticed the frosty chill of the late night air, or felt the tug of exhaustion from staying out so late, too focused on the plot with Brightpaw.
"I don't think that we're going to have to kill them.. I hope." Willowpaw glanced at the ground. She wanted to see them suffer, but the idea of her siblings being dead was extremely unsettling, especially if their deaths were at Willowpaw's claws.
Willowpaw sighed. "We aren't murderers, we're just.. It's circumstance." She mewed. "We'll be able to stop them without killing them. One way or another."

Brightpaw took a deep breath. She wondered if she and Willowpaw were too close to this to really judge this situation correctly. It was possible. Their personal emotional investment could be coloring their perceptions, creating justifications where there should be none. But... Like her sister had said. Letting Aloekit and Almondpaw do what they want, that wasn't right. She didn't want anyone else to feel like she did. Having to shove yourself into a box and pull on a mask, just to escape the hurt and pretend everything is okay.
Brightpaw shrugged uselessly. "I... I just don't want anyone else to be hurt as much as I want to hurt them. I don't know how I'll feel about it afterwards." She sighed. "I guess we'll see how I feel." She replied quietly. Brightpaw was used to the chilly cold and being tired. She didn't quite recognize her slightly sluggish thoughts as a sign that she needed to sleep. She learned to push through it.
".... Yeah. They've probably got enough self-preservation to stop before it comes to that." She said quietly.
((asdfghjkl; I need to be careful. Bright has a similar personality to some of my other OCs and some of them are VERY violent and less.... Moral. aaaaa they're like 18-year olds at this stage SO THEY SHOULD not be talking about killing fam members))

"Right. They aren't that mouse-brained." Willowpaw agreed, hoping that she'd said enough to convince her sister this was the right thing to do, no questions asked or hesitations. Not that she doubted Brightpaw would go through with it, but Willowpaw wanted her sister tabby to have as much conviction as she did on this. "..But if it came down to it, I'm sure we could. Kill them, I mean." Maybe it wouldn't be all that wrong, if Willowpaw was doing it out of self-defense. But she would never voice those thoughts to Brightpaw, surely it would repulse her.
Noticing how tiredness was starting to affect Brightpaw, Willowpaw stifled a yawn herself. They were out so late, waking up tomorrow would be literal Hell. "Yeah, let's start tomorrow." She mewed, blinking slowly. "I don't know about you, but for once I'm actually feeling pretty tired." They'd spent a lot of time out here, meeting, arguing, and eventually coming to this.
((end of thread after your response? also.. i mean, i'm sure people have killed at a younger age, right?))

Brightpaw nodded quietly. "Yeah. They're not quite that stupid..." She replied softly. She still didn't feel as confident as she sounded... But she didn't really want to Willowpaw to know that. So, the silvery apprentice would never know. Brightpaw was good at not letting others see what she didn't want them to see. She might've been bad at it in the beginning, but she was good at it now. She had a real talent for it when she put her mind to it. Was that a good thing, or a bad thing? She didn't really know, but it was an asset she used. A lot.
She nodded. "Alright." She replied. She didn't feel like adding anything, since it seemed like they would just go in circles. They had said all that there was to be said at this point. No point in continuing to say the same things over and over.
She shrugged. "I'm okay, but you should go back to camp. I've still got stuff to do." She took a deep breath. "Anyways, see you around." With that, Brightpaw took off, without waiting for a response. She didn't want any questions concerning why she wasn't heading back to camp.
((Sure. BUT BUT.... Actually now that I think about it... I think this makes a little more sense. I mean, I don't think anyone really talked to these kids about right and wrong. Not that some of them would really be receptive to a talk like that. But given that fact plus the fact that they actually lack experience as to the real ramifications of killing someone.... I think it makes a little sense they're so messed up jeez.
By the way, you gonna do Willowpaw's assessment soon...? I'm curious. Willowpaw has the posts for it. BTW... Ashfire is her mentor right? They've been inactive. You might want to ask someone like Cloudskip or Stormfrost to do Willow's assessment.))

Willowpaw flicked her tail, turning and started to pad back to camp.
((added that bc i'm not actually sure if just ooc posts are allowed in Fireclan. also.. yeah, i think it's time to get Willowpaw a new mentor, but idk if she's really ready to be a warrior? i was planning on getting to 200 posts first, but i have no idea how you do it because i'm struggling.))
