Aloepaw sneered at her words. "Hmph. Then FireClan is weak." And when Amberflash spoke about caring, Aloepaw's lip curled in anger. As if she did care! The only one that understands him is Almondfire! "You should mind your own business-- and stop trying to change me! I like who I am! Almondfire and I are either going to change FireClan to be rid of all it's weakness, or we're going to die trying! At least we care about that!"
At the mention of his father, the long-haired tomcat seemed to slip into a daze for a moment, a streak of hurt in his gaze. But that moment was gone the next, and he was angry once more. "Then maybe you should have raised a better son!" he snarkily hissed.

Amberflash blinked lazily at Aloepaw. "Really..." She said quietly. "You have a lot to learn, kid. Listen, I'm your mentor. More than that, I'm family. I care about you and the life you want to lead will not make you happy, I can promise that." She sighed. "The weakness you see in Fireclan is called compassion. It makes life worth living. You might not understand now... But it's a wonderful feeling, knowing that you won't be abandoned if you falter for even a second."
Her eye twitched. "You can judge my parenting skills once you raise your own kids. It's not so easy. Especially with brats like you, that hate everything that isn't like them." She shook her head, annoyed.

Aloepaw was rolling his eyes at Amberflash's response. "Tch. Yeah, compassion. I bet the neighboring Clans are quaking in fear of our compassion." Aloepaw hissed through gritted, chattering teeth.
The apprentice snickered at her words. "Whatever." he sneered. "Just take me back to my nest already-- at least do one thing right tonight!"

Amberflash sighed. "Why do you want to be feared?" She asked. She huffed. Then she moved to pick Aloepaw up and put him on her back so she could carry him home, like he'd so kindly asked.

He was silent, not feeling kind enough to answer. Until, of course, Amberflash moved to set the tomcat up on her back. Once they started moving, Aloepaw sighed. "Because you're strong when everyone fears you. And it's fun to watch everyone squirm." he chuckled, relaxing against his grandmother's warm back without even realizing it. "I only need Almondfire to understand me. Everyone else can just follow my orders." And it was truly how he wanted everything to be.
He was quiet for a moment. And then Aloepaw added, "And... to answer your earlier question... I'm not crazy about spilling blood. I haven't gotten into nearly enough fights to enjoy it yet...." he muttered.

Amberflash was surprised the kid didn't put up a fight. As she carried Aloepaw through the territory, he began speaking. She hummed in response. The kid was relaxing so... Despite the crap he spewed... He did feel somewhat comfortable around her at the very least.
"There's more than one way to be strong." She replied softly. "It's alright if you want to have fun. But... Just remember that it's much easier to break something than to fix something." She hummed in response. "Only need that one special friend, huh? I get that." Then she blinked. "... Why would cats follow your orders? Out of fear? Cats are more likely to listen to you if you're nice." She pointed out. Then she sighed. "Ah, who am I kidding? You're not listening. Maybe one day... In the future. Really, really far off future..." She muttered, rambling a bit.
".... Try not to get into fights kid before I can teach you how not to bleed out in the middle of it..."
Then they reached the camp.

He laughed at that, obviously doubting her words. The only way to be strong to be feared and to have the power to hold that fear in place. And, he added in his head. 'I can't wait to break everything, then. FireClan needs all this weakness torn away.'
He scoffed at that. "Oh yeah, sure. I'll just be nice to someone, and they'll do every little thing I tell them to. Tch, I don't care about being nice. The only one who gets any amount of 'niceness' is Almondfire." Aloepaw hissed. At her rambling, Aloepaw just softly growled warningly.
"...Then you better teach me things, soon. Or I'm going to get torn apart...." he muttered.
{ end thread and make a new one? :3

((Sure friend lol.
Amberflash shrugged. "Well, of course it doesn't work that way. Free will exists, after all." She sighed. "Just... Try listening, alright? If everyone asides from you and Almondfire are weak, then why do you think they're fine being weak?" Of course, she didn't really understand their definition of strength. They clearly didn't believe in the strength of kindness and so and so forth... Yet, they seemed to also believe cats would could certainly beat them in battle were weaker.
It was a very confusing contradiction.
"... I don't want you to die, so I will teach you. I promise." Then she dumped the kid off in the middle of camp. "I'll give you some time to recover. Then we're back on, mmkay?" Then she left without waiting for a response.

Aloepaw huffed, and easily quipped back. "Because they're too weak to change." Only to fall silent for the rest of the way, still trembling from the cold, and angry with his mentor's actions. Obviously she wasn't listening to him. Did every little thing he spit honestly need to be judged and corrected?!
Aloepaw just sent his grandmother a sneer as she dropped him off, before he went running off to the warmth of his nest before she could hold him back.
