Padding through the thick folds of golden ferns and grass Fang sighed softly. There was a slight breeze that made his surroundings dance in it's wake. The sun high up above melted the fur along his back, thankfully the slight breeze kept him from going liquid. The thought of shade though tempting would be hard to find in this time of day. He with out thinking had brought him self to the boarder of his birthclan... Treeclan. He cast a blue gaze to the shaded forest and sighed deeply. In the process of sitting down at the boarder he noted the scent of a she-cat. He looked around and called out, "Your more than welcomed to join me." He said welcoming the idea of company before she had even said anything.

Crystalbird had heard from Arrowstar that apparently Fireclanners were trouble. She had never met one of those cats, so she wouldn't know. Thus, she had found herself walking along the border Treeclan shared with Fireclan. Then she came across a tabby sitting on the Fireclan side of the border. She lifted a fictional eyebrow and stopped in her tracks. He invited her to join him. "Hm... From what I've been told, Fireclanners aren't as courteous as you appear to be. At a first glance."

His eyes widened this was Tree's new deputy. So it was a true, she wasn't a born clanner. He smiled he was glad to see that the clans were branching out from there old ways. He shrugged as a light accusation was made. "I guess it depends who you ask, and who you run into" he smiled. She seemed interesting and he was intruieged she must be skilled in something to have gained the rank she had in such a quick manor. He tilted his head, "Care to give a old FireClanner like me a try then." He said armed with a smile. Back in the day he had intended to move to his birthclan and that would be that, but now he new it would be a far fetched idea he had to many ties to his clan. Though he hoped to see his clan in good paws. He sighed making his frame quiver slightly. "TreeClan is doing well I hope," he made it sound like a business attempt vs. a yearning of his heart.

Crystalbird passively waved her tail behind her. Apparently she was recognized by this Fireclanner. Hm... She wondered if news always traveled this fast between the clans. It was an interesting point. She tilted her head and then shrugged, briefly closing her eyes as she did so. "I imagine so." She actually thought Arrowstrike was probably overreacting. Even if Fireclan had slighted Treeclan in the past, it was stupid to generalize an entire group. That was her opinion.
She lifted a fictional eyebrow. "Are you suggesting that I wouldn't otherwise?" She questioned. Then she tilted her head. "And if it was?" She further inquired. True, she had no animosity towards Fireclan. She was not one to divulge information freely, unless she believed it to be harmless.

He gave a chuckle this one was certainly a hoot. She was the living breathing image one would see as a deputy. Reserved to a point and a savy information broker. He shook his head, "Then I would congratulate you. It's only so often a clan finds a good season." He said with keen optics. Tilting his head he realized they had given few words and non of them regarded their own names. He gave a light chuckle "Silly me, where are my manors. I'm FangShadow." Armed with a natural smile he often toted he tilted his head. "You go by CrystalBird do you not?"

Crystalbird tilted her head and smiled slightly. "Mm... True, true." Judging by Fangshadow's words, she could possibly infer that Fireclan was having a tough time. Or perhaps not. She could be reading too much into it. Too many unknowns. She should keep talking, though she wasn't here to unveil Fireclan's secret. At least, not right now.
"Mm, yes I do." She was less inclined to someone outside of Treeclan to use her preferred nickname. She wasn't entirely sure the status of relationships between clans, but she did want to be seen as Treeclan's deputy. She wasn't entirely sure using a name almost sounded like the name of an outsider would win her many points.

He now conferrable flicked his tail to the side. "It's quite a mouthful isn't it?" he gave a warm smile. "I'm assuming your previous name was much simpler. I know some rouges who find our names annoying or outlandish because they are so long." He gave an amused expression thinking about his dear friend, Clove. He gave her a warmed look, "Do you go by anything else? Or I can just call you CrystalBird what ever you prefer."

Crystalbird hummed in response. "Nah, Crystalbird is fine." She was only obligated to make friends with her new clanmates, no need to get all buddy buddy with this Fireclanner here. Besides... She didn't really want him to use her nickname. Might seem like she hadn't really left her past behind her when she'd joined Treeclan. That was the last thing she needed to prove, really.

He nodded, he didn't think it's what someone like her would prefer but had no reason to object. "Alright CrystlBird it is" he flicked an ear. He knew he couldn't ask to much without seeming rude or nosy, and it would already seem she wasn't to fond of him. "Are you enjoying your life with the clans? Lots different from rouge life is it not"

Crystalbird shrugged. "Bit obvious, isn't it?" She was getting bored. Really, really bored. This was meaningless small talk and... She didn't really like that sort of thing. She tilted her head. "You have a weird pelt for open grasslands." She pointed out. Most of the year, the grass was a vibrant green. A dark pelt wasn't exactly great for blending in. Even when the grass died and turned a sandy color, his pelt wasn't ever going to blend in.

He was surprised by her observation. "Yes," he started he hadn't ever really been questioned about it. "Darker than all of the Fireclanners I guess" he said taking a glance at his pelt, and realized his mistake he hinted to them as a people... not as him being one of them. He looked at her with wide eyes, "I-I guess I'm just very unlucky" he started watching her carefully after all, his pelt was common among her people and wouldn't be hard to piece it all together even more so after his mess up.
