Stormfrost looked over at the apprentices den from the fresh kill pile and thought it would be time to take his apprentice out to the clan territory. He quickly ate a vole and hoped for the best he wouldn't regret the quick decision. He pushed his thought aside and wandered over to the apprentices den to see if Swanfrost was ready to go. "Swanpaw? You ready to go get started into the territory?" he called. (Private thread- just for Swanpaw)

Swanpaw moaned in response, rolling onto her side. She had a hard time falling asleep in a new environment, and she had heard that most mentor started with showing the territory. It sounded dreadfully boring. She forced herself onto her paws, eyes bleary from sleep deprivation. "I'm coming." She grumbled, quickly grooming her thin fur. It really didn't need it, but she did it anyway, just like she did every morning. She passed her mentor without a single glance, heading straight for the prey pile. Snatching a mouse off, she eyed him rather skeptically. "I am allowed to eat first, right?" She didn't wait for an answer as she dug into her prey. This would be a long day.

Stormfrost saw his apprentice was a little less than enthusiastic about training as he thought she would be. "Yeah you are allowed to eat first. You'll need it today. We will be touring the territory and I hope that it's not too boring." He just kept talking even when she came back over and sat down to eat regardless of the fact that she didn't wait for him to tell her that it was okay. Stormfrost decided to sit and wait for his apprentice to finish her breakfast before they'd head out. He was trying to think of different ways to keep it interesting. Perhaps asking each other questions along the walk to different territories might be beneficial. "Almost ready to go?"

Swanpaw quickly blocked out his voice, focusing on her meal. She hoped he wouldn't be too strict with her, though she already knew he had no idea what he was getting himself into. She wasn't exactly... Cooperative. After she had finished the small mouse she gingerly swiped her tongue over her left paw, swiping it over her whiskers. She took her sweet time, finally focusing her attention on her mentor. "Alright, we can go now." She stood, flicking her tail towards the camp entrance. Her plan was to float through her training easily, though with her attitude it wouldn't work exactly how she had planned for it to.

Stormfrost stood up and stretched out his legs. It would be a long walk and a long wait before the next time that he would be able to just sit down. "All right then. Let's get going, shall we..." He headed towards the camp entrance and turned around to make sure his apprentice would keep up with him before turning back around, walking out of camp. Stormfrost looked back periodically to make sure she could keep up, though with his older age he wasn't exactly in a hurry. He could take his time if he wanted to so it'd be easier for the small apprentice to keep up with him. "So... you happy that you're now an apprentice and able to go outside of camp?" He asked, figuring out which way he wanted to go first. After deciding what way to go he continued walking.

Swanpaw easily kept up, staying a good distance away from him. Her legs had gotten longer since kithood, and considering her breed they would continue to grow out for awhile. When they neared the camp exit, Swanpaw hesitated, taking in a deep breath. She didn't like the idea of going out there, with all sorts of dangers. She didn't have a good life before Fireclan, and no matter how much she tried to push away her past fears, they always stuck with her. Putting on a brave face she moved forward, staying glued to his side. She grimaced at his question, putting on a blank expression. "Yeah, it was getting pretty boring being cooped up in camp." She easily lied, letting the words slide smoothly off her tongue.

Stormfrost felt as if he could feel her hesitation and wondered what exactly made her worried. Did she think he couldn't protect her from others? He was one of the strongest in the clan despite his age he was very good at defense still, not that they had any confrontations relatively soon where he would have been involved. Stormfrost decided to push that thought aside when Swanpaw responded to his original question. "I remember when I first got to get out of camp. It was awesome. I didn't have to stay inside, like you said, all cooped up." He continued toward the first border. They'd be going to IceClan first.

"Will I be able to go out whenever I want to now?" Swanpaw questioned curiously, tilting her head to the side in thought. Would she even want to? She wasn't sure. Then again, unlike her original hesitance, it did give her a small sense of freedom. It was exciting, being able to go out and explore. She focused on her surroundings, paws growing numb from the cold. Already she was beginning to feel tired, as she didn't get any exercise inside of camp.

Stormfrost stiffened at her question. "In all reality, apprentices are not supposed to come out here on their own. It would be better to have a warrior with you if you leave out of camp. But it case you are out here alone you'll be well protected when you receive your training. And if you go out of camp it's best to be with someone anyway in case something goes down." He felt a cooler breeze from IceClan drift his way along with the scent of the other clan getting stronger.

Swanpaw was confused at his reaction to her question, was she not supposed to ask something like that? Odd. "In case something goes down? What do you mean?" Her fur prickled with worry, absentmindedly looking around for any possible threats. What kind of dangers were there even? She had heard of foxes and badgers, even wolves, but were they out here now? Her train of thought was interrupted by a cold breeze, and she shivered lightly. Why couldn't her training have started in Greenleaf? She didn't bother asking where they were going, assuming he would eventually tell her.

Stormfrost didn't want to make her worry but he stopped walking and looked over at Swanpaw with a serious expression but not one that he used in attempt to scare her. "In case any enemies or predators wander into our territory we need to take precautions. You'll be fine. I'm better at fighting than hunting anyway so don't worry about it. You'll learn some moves that will help you with this as well." He noticed she was getting a bit cold and he walked closer to her. "I'm not sure if you can tell but we are headed to IceClan first. Speaking of which..." He saw the border coming into sight and kept his pace. "Almost there."
(if you want you can do the next post as if they're there)

Swanpaw swallowed thickly at the warning of predators, nodding her head slowly. "When will I get to learn fighting?" She began moving forward again, relieved when he moved closer to her. The warmth radiating off him was enough to keep her going. Swanpaw got lost in thought for a moment, trying to remember everything she had ever heard about IceClan. She almost hadn't noticed when they arrived at the border, though the overwhelming scent was enough to jerk her back into reality. "They smell weird." She complained, wrinkling her nose.

Stormfrost chuckled at her reaction to their scent. "Yeah I know. Each clan has a bit of a different scent to them and IceClan is no exception." He thought for a moment about her question. "Well if we make it back in plenty of time before dark we will be able to start on battle. By the way a little bit of information on IceClan. As our clan got a new leader, they also have a new leader: Robinstar. I haven't heard much else from them. Their deputy is still Sunfish though." He paused for a few moments and headed to a border marker and 'refreshed the scent'. "So we might as well mark the borders while we're here then we can move onto the next clan. Any guesses what that one's going to be?" He asked, preparing himself to walk again.

Swanpaw nodded, wanting to speed things up a little if it meant she got to train. Though she didn't like to get her paws dirty in any means, she didn't want to be left defenceless either. "Robinstar and Sunfish. Got it." She nodded, trying hard to keep the information stored in her brain. She had a fairly decent memory, so she was sure she would be able to keep it locked up in her brain. She paused for a moment, trying to think. Obviously there was only two options, TreeClan and RockClan. She had a feeling RockClan was closer, since both IceClan and RockClan didn't have many trees. "RockClan?" She voiced her opinion, unsure.

He normally just took people IceClan, TreeClan, and then to RockClan to cover more ground in a way. But this time he could make an exception. Not just the fact that he wanted her to be right but at the same time he wanted to get this underway as he could tell that she wanted to as well. "I suppose so," was all he said as he began padding off towards RockClan with a quicker pace. He enjoyed training although training to battle for some reason was harder than hunting to him. He always wondered how he wanted to teach fighting and still hadn't thought of a great system.
