(Alright guys, I'm not sure how many mentors are doing this any more but I want you to keep your post count to a 20-word minimum, okay? Since the territory tour shouldn't be a very long thread I'm gonna have us all do it together, but if you have an issue with doing the training threads in pairs then PM me and I'll make a separate thread for one-on-one training. Last thing; I want to keep a posting order in this thread. If you don't know what that is then PM me and I'll be happy to explain :>)
Aspenfang sat at the entrance of camp, where she had told her apprentices she would be waiting for them. The sun was making it's way to the center of the sky, but wasn't quite there yet. Jaguarpaw and Thunderblaze should be here soon, the russet tabby thought, wrapping her tail around her paws and yawning.

(Word count not a problem)
Thunderpaw recalled that food was at the top of his priority list before heading out so he wandered over early and grabbed something to eat. He looked around and found a vole, quickly eating it before making his way over towards the entrance of camp. The dark furred tom saw that he was first and Jaguarpaw still had yet to show up.

Jaguarpaw knew that his mentor wanted to go out today to the territory but he didn't know how well it'd blow over. He padded outside of the apprentices den and saw that Thunderpaw was only getting something to eat just then. He already had something to eat earlier so he took his time heading over to the camp entrance once he saw Thunderpaw heading over. Arriving fashionably late in his manner. "I guess we're both here..." He mumbled to his mentor.

Aspenfang nodded a greeting to her two apprentices. "Mornin' you two!" she chirped brightly, then heaved herself onto her paws and tilted her head towards the camp entrance. "Hope you both are ready for a long walk! Like I said yesterday, we'll spend a good part of our day trekking through the territory and learning the borders. If we're able to finish before sun-down I can walk you guys through a hunting or battle lesson as well," the russet tabby felt a wave of nostalgia. Her apprenticeship had lasted almost three times as long as the average apprentice's, and throughout that time she had gone through many mentors as well as many territory tours. "Come on, if neither of you have any questions, we should head out," Aspenfang flicked her tail towards the entrance, waiting to see if Thunderpaw or Jaguarpaw had any questions before she took them out of camp.

Thunderpaw looked over at Aspenfang as she greeted them. "Good morning to you too. I don't have any questions." He looked around at Jaguarpaw and wondered if he had any questions. He kind of hoped he didn't. He was ready to get a move on out to the territory. Let's go, let's go! He thought. Thunderpaw was very ready to get a move on.

The silvery tom with black spots looked over at Thunderpaw. What's his problem? He saw that he was a little gittery in a way and thought that he was a bit excited. His blue eyes shifted from Thunderpaw to Aspenfang. "I don't have any either I guess... Other than where are we headed in the territory?" He didn't really know where they were headed and he really wanted to know.

"Hmm, well, mostly we'll be touring the borders. FireClan territory is pretty large, so it'll take a good amount of time to circle the whole perimeter. I'll also show you guys the training grounds, since that's where our next training session will be held," she flicked her tail towards the camp entrance, "now come on, it's time to head out!" Aspenfang lead the two apprentices through the entrance of the FireClan and into the FireClan territory, taking a second to sniff the fresh scents of the prairie while she let Jaguarpaw and Thunderpaw get their first look of the world outside FireClan's camp walls.

Thunderpaw padded after his mentor and took in the sights of all the new things around him. It was a bit different from what he had imagined and honestly he felt quite bare. They no longer had the protection of the camp around them with warriors standing guard and one way in, one way out. He kept up and looked around at Aspenfang and Jaguarpaw, wondering what they were thinking. He knew Aspenfang had been out in the territory countless times as she was a warrior herself but Jaguarpaw was experiencing this for the first time too. "It's a lot bigger than what I thought it'd be..."

Jaguarpaw looked over at Thunderpaw in disbelief. What'd he think it was going to be? He ignored the thought and looked over at Aspenfang. "I can't wait till we begin training. I want to learn to fight..." He said and then wondered. "Will we be fighting each other?" Jaguarpaw wondered if it would be apprentice versus apprentice or apprentice versus warrior or some crazy multi-cat involved fight. If they even learned that way.

Aspenfang smiled at Thunderpaw's words. She had a very similar outlook when she first exited camp. "Possibly," the tabby answered Jaguarpaw's question vaguely. She wasn't sure yet exactly how she would approach training. She wanted to see how well the two worked together before she made any concrete decisions, "but I really want you two to focus on learning the territory right now. This is your homeland, it's important for you to be able to recognize every landmark, trail, and familiar scent. You'll never know if something is out of the ordinary until you know what the ordinary is," she looked around, then began heading to the east. "Now, come on! I want the both of you to walk in front of me, heading the same direction I am now," ahead of them was a long field of yellow grass which ended by a sudden spurting tree-line which marked the TreeClan border. "We're heading straight towards a border. I'm not going to tell you two where it is, or which clan it is, I just want you to stop when you think we've reached it, alright? And try and guess which clan the border belongs too." She knew TreeClan wouldn't be ecstatic to have a random apprentice crossing their border, but she also knew that they'd never harm a new apprentice. These two still had kitten fluff between their claws, any warrior would be able to see that, although Aspenfang admitted that they had promise, the two were not yet a threat.

Thunderpaw looked over and around everything he could but staying within a few tail lengths of his mentor regardless. He listened to what Aspenfang mentioned about training and didn't really think too much of it. He was out in the territory, the place where he wanted to go to for so long and now he finally was out here exploring with his clanmates. The tom kept trotting along trying to get to the clan border quickly and since Aspenfang let him go out front he kept looking back to make sure that he was bounding in the right direction. It became a little clearer to him once he got closer to the TreeClan border that it was indeed a border. The smell of other cats was strong. "Is this TreeClan? Cause ... you know ... all the trees?" He asked.

Jaguarpaw felt weird with having a new scent catch his nose. All he was ever used to was FireClan. He couldn't think of why the other clan needed to smell so bad and scrunched up his nose. A very leafy, fresh scent filled it and he wasn't to sure that he could grow to like it. His home was full of the prairie lands, a very proud home of which it smells much better to say the least.
He kept his pace as they neared the other border and looked over at Thunderpaw as he said his answer. Of course. Jaguarpaw looked back at Aspenfang. "It's got to be TreeClan."

"Very good!" Aspenfang purred her praise, "now, I know when you first scent another clan's scent it can be strange, but make sure you take as much of it in as you can! It's important that you're able to distinguish one clan scent from another, whether it's our clan from TreeClan or IceClan from RockClan," the tabby looked past her apprentices at the TreeClan border, wondering when the two toms would stop. She began to slow her pace a bit, knowing that they'd be upon the border in a few moments. "Now, what can you two tell me about TreeClan cats?"

Thunderpaw stopped short of the treeline as it seemed only fitting. One seemed to end and the other seemed to begin very evidently. The treeline and then the grasslands of FireClan. Well suited to their names of course. "Um. Well, I think they like trees. I'm guessing they have plenty of squirrels.. maybe birds. They have a new leader, Arrowstar." He said.

Jaguarpaw looked over at Aspenfang after he stopped next to Thunderpaw. "I've heard they also have a new deputy, Crystalbird. I guess with the deputy moving up to be the leader they needed someone to step in. It makes sense..." He drifted off and wondered what else Aspenfang would say on it.
