Aspenfang stopped alongside her apprentices, glad that they were able to spot the border with ease. "Pretty easy border to identify, right? Most of FireClan's borders are marked clearly, as we get closer to our next border these trees will grow thin and soon vanish, but the scents will still remain as strong as they are here, so it's good to know the borders by scent as well as sight." She stopped to listen to her apprentices tell her what they knew about TreeClan.
The tabby nodded approvingly, impressed at how well the two already seemed to know the other clan. "Right you both are! You should also keep in mind that their medicine cat's name is Liongrowl. I haven't met him myself, but I believe that he is an orange tom with yellow eyes. So keep you're claws sheathed if you spot a TreeClanner on our territory who fits that description, alright?" she smiled at the two, knowing that all kits were taught that attacking a medicine cat was breaking the warrior code. "Now, another thing you should know about TreeClan cats is that they are born climbers. There hasn't been a battle with TreeClan for many seasons, but if the time ever comes it would be good to keep in mind that they just as fast on land as they are in the trees! They are known for being nimble and are good at using the terrain to their advantage."

Thunderpaw wrinkled his nose. Trees? He thought that'd be the weirdest thing ever to have to climb in trees. Falling out of trees would be a bit of a complication in his life. Broken bones or splinters! Bah! That'd be the worse. "The medicine cat? So they are able to travel across all lands without being attacked?" He asked, not really sure about what it'd be like to travel into other clans without being attacked.
(gah I feel special, they hear about Liongrowl ^.^")

Jaguarpaw thought it was odd but at the same time it made some sense to him. "They come to help other clans when needed right?" He asked but with the underlying feeling swelled within him. This is the best clan... What if they take advantage of us? He couldn't really think strait and his mind wandered all around but he looked over at Aspenfang for some common sense.

"Yup, you're both right. Medicine cats are expected to stand apart from clan rivalries, so the warrior code allows them to cross borders freely. Usually they do so to talk with the another clan's medicine cat, although I guess there could be other cases. We don't get other clan's medicine cats around here often, but it's good to keep in mind that they should be welcome, even if they aren't FireClan," Aspenfang smiled, then began to walk again, beckoning with her tail for the two toms to follow, "come on now, we only got a few more stops! Next I'll be showing you the Sun Stones, which is a continuation of our border with TreeClan. They're only a little ways further."

Thunderpaw padded after her quickly. He couldn't wait to get to training. It would be one step closer to becoming a warrior! He followed after Aspenfang towards the next part of the border and sniffed almost every step of the way because he recalled that she wanted them to make sure they got a good whiff of things. Unfortunately he may have been taking this a little too far and wound up sneezing.

Jaguarpaw looked over at his mentor. Sun stones? Do people just lie around and sun on those stones, he wondered. He blinked in surprise and kept his paws on the ground when Thunderpaw sneezed. "You good?" Was all he could ask. But before too long gen turned his attention back to the thought of stones.

"Careful there, kid," Aspenfang mewed, slowing down and bit and looking over her shoulder to make sure Thunderpaw was okay. Probably just inhaled some dust, she thought, figuring that she'd stop to check up on him if he kept sneezing. "Alright you two, these are the Sun Stones," the russet tabby slowed to a halt as they approached the field of sun-colored boulders. The she-cat looked at the two sternly "I don't want you guys coming here without me or another experienced warrior, okay?" her expression softened, "it's a good place for hunting, and a nice place to sun yourself, but there are also a lot of cracks and crevices for snakes to hide in. If you guys ever want to come down here on your own or with your friends, just ask me."

Thunderpaw nodded at Jaguarpaw in response to his question. But he quickly redirected his attention over to Aspenfang. "I'll be all right." He then redirected his attention over to the Sun Stones. The thought of snakes that his mentor mentioned did not sound cool. He didn't want to run into an issue with a snake bite. Have fun explaining that to the medicine cats? He didn't think so. Yikes...

Jaguarpaw's nose scrunched up at the thought of a snake coming out from between the cracks in the rocks while he'd be laying there, sunning himself. "Have you ever seen a snake, Aspenfang?" He finally decided to ask. He had never seen one himself and didn't necessarily plan to. Jaguarpaw also wondered if he really had to always ask permission to leave. It didn't seem very fun but if he wasn't too proud he'd admit that he wasn't able to fight off anything that would intrude.

"A few times," the tabby mewed in answer to Jaguarpaw's question, "mostly here, although I did spot a rattle snake once near the outskirts of our territory. During this time of year you don't usually find them, but FireClan is a prime place for snakes during the warmer seasons. A good thing to remember is that snakes love to sun themselves, so they usually don't stray too far from rocks or open patches of land where the sun can easily reach them," she nodded, trying to think of any other information she could give them, "always remember to give a snake a wide birth if you spot one. Not all the ones around here are poisonous, but you really don't wanna be bitten by the few that are." Aspenfang then relaxed and returned to her usual cheerful nature, "but you guys won't have to worry about them for awhile. Like I said earlier, snakes don't like the cold and we don't usually start seeing them until late new-leaf and green-leaf." She began walking again, ready to head to the next border. 'C'mon, we'll be passing through the old graveyard on our way to the RockClan border! I want you guys to stick close to me and tread softly. There's a rabbit warren near there, but it's more of an experienced-apprentice hunting ground. Those gravestones can come out of nowhere when you're chasing after a rabbit, and running into one isn't fun--I would know!" she chuckled a bit, "we don't want to scare any rabbits off for anyone that might wanna come by and try their luck with a hunt.

Thunderpaw made sure to listen again for the where and when snakes would be out. That's the last thing he'd want to meet out here... or maybe foxes? Badgers? Ah every other predator that there ever was or ever would be was on his mind and on the 'don't even wanna know about' list. His mind wandered through the list of predators for some reason, unable to take his mind off of it until Aspenfang brought up a graveyard. "I beg your pardon? Is that even allowed?" He asked though since she's been there before he'd be more likely to believe it was.

Jaguarpaw looked over at Thunderpaw and snorted. "Don't tell me you are afraid of ghosts. It's just a graveyard, don't be such a scaredy cat." He turned to face Aspenfang after finishing his little remark to the other apprentice. "What's so dangerous about this border?" He noted she wanted them to stay closer to her which she hadn't mentioned before.

"Oh! Well, um, I should probably clarify that this is a old two-leg graveyard, it's not where we bury our dead," Aspenfang mewed, hoping she hadn't given the two the wrong impression. She began to slow down as they drew closer to the graveyard. "It's not that it's dangerous," the tabby mewed softly, "it's just that rabbits are really sensitive so scent as well as sound. The closer together we are, the less our scent will spread, and the less likely a rabbit will be able to scent us," she then angled her ears forward, "this graveyard isn't a very large place though, and we're just skirting the edge. See, look, you can see the old fence that marks the edge of the graveyard up ahead," the fence was made of a rusty metal and had lots of missing patches so it was very easy to pass through. Not far past that was a the track of land that marked the RockClan border.

Thunderpaw looked at Aspenfang and shook his head. Why do we have to tour the territory through some old graveyard where dead people, twolegs, were buried. I guess it's better than if it were our own. I would not enjoy that any better... His thoughts were redirected to Aspenfang when she continued about rabbits. It almost made him hungry to think about. "Well... I guess it's better than if it were our own. Wouldn't want to see any ghost cats..."
