Cloudskip was both happy and scared of being so busy. Would she fail at giving the assessment..? No, she had given one before and that went smoothly. The warrior shuffled over towards the apprentice den. "Okay... Adaline, time for your assessment!" ((Short, but I don't have much muse and it's hard to type on a DS .u.

Brightpaw was eternally grateful to Cloudskip, honestly. She'd been sticking around in camp nowadays. She'd actually slept in the apprentice's den for once, in a spare nest. She actually emerged from the apprentice's den like a normal person for once. She yawned, before rubbing the sleepiness from her eyes.
"Okay. I'm ready."

Cloudskip smiled lightly. "Good, you need some food before we go? If not, I'll meet'ca by the entrance of camp." She nodded, and slowly trotted to said entrance. She glanced over at Brightpaw and smiled wider.

Brightpaw quickly went over to the fresh-kill pile, practically inhaling a vole, before returning to Cloudskip at the entrance of the camp. She was ready, a serious, but easy expression on her face.

The warrior laughed a bit and watched the apprentice. "Okay, let'sa go." She hummed, and started to walk towards the territory, an eye over her shoulder.
"Okay, so I'm gonna sum up what's going to happen. You'll have to catch three pieces of prey and defeat me in a battle, which is easier than it sounds, ironically." She laughed and flicked her tail.

Brightpaw followed after Cloudskip and then she blinked. "Um... How do you define 'defeat'?" She asked, feeling as if she needed to know more about the parameters of her assessment. "Also, do I have a time limit on either portion of the assessment?"

Cloudskip shrugged. "By defeat, I mean knocking over or me running out of energy to fight or something like that. As for the time, until the end of the day. I'm not too strict on anything." She blinked, and flicked an ear.

Brightpaw blinked. That sounded rather.... Lax. "Alright..." She meowed slowly. She took a deep breath and then took off in a random direction in search of prey to truly begin the hunting half of the assessment.
She'd dashed for a while, before slowing down to a proper prey searching pace. She carefully wandered, looking for prey, lifting her nose and all that. There was a period of time, before she stopped. She squinted and she was pretty sure she saw a rabbit amongst the snow. Given the fact the rabbits were white and well.... They tended to be hard to see. She quietly lowered her stance and approached it, stalking it. It was too far away initially for her to properly chase and catch the darn thing, so she needed to close the distance somewhat.
Then when the distance was closer, she sprang forward. The thing ran away, being a rabbit and all, but the chase was brief before Brightpaw came upon it and killed it. Her new catch dangling from her jaws. She buried it so she could come back for it later, while she sought out more prey.
She found herself wandering for a while, before finally finding something shuffling in the snow. She was reasonably sure it was a mole. Moles weren't exactly impossible to find, but you were more likely to stumble upon a vole or a mouse if not a rabbit. This called for some proper stalking and pouncing, so she carefully approached it, cursing the snow for failing to be silent.
Then once she knew she was within pouncing distance, she went for it. It managed a squeak before its neck was snapped. She sighed and looked around. Well... She supposed it wasn't that bad. It was a small squeak... She could always look somewhere else. She buried the mole as well and went back on her prey search.
A bird had escaped her claws and a mouse had wriggled out of her grasp, before she found another rabbit that she successfully chased down. Hopefully two escaped would-be-prey wouldn't ruin her chances.
She went back for her mole and first rabbit, carrying all three pieces of fresh-kill in her jaws.
.... She wondered if Cloudskip would suddenly materialize or if she should go back to where she started....

Cloudskip watched as Brightpaw dashed off, and waited. A couple minutes passed and she made her way towards where the apprentice had left. The she-cat quietly ran through the territory, but slowed down once she saw the other cat finish her first kill. Cloudskip smiled and continued to follow her.
Time passed, and Brightpaw had caught her other two pieces of prey. Clouds simply blinked and walked away. "Good job, meet me by the training area!" She called over her shoulder and her walk turned into a sprint.

Brightpaw wasn't sure where exactly Cloudskip had come from... Probably followed her. She bowed her head. She wasn't sure what to do with the prey, but she decided to take it with her. So she made her way to the training area with the fresh-kill still hanging from her jaws.

Cloudskip halted as she reached the training area, and sat down to catch her breath. She turned her gaze to see the apprentice holding prey in her jaws. The warrior smiled and nodded in greeting, "You can bury that nearby, we'll bring it to camp later." She nodded again, and stood up.

Brightpaw bowed her head. She walked off to the side and buried the prey that she'd been holding onto. Then she returned to Cloudskip. Her ears twitched uncertainly downward. "So... Do we start the battle portion now?"

Cloudskip drifted off into thought for a few seconds, then was sent back to reality as Brightpaw spoke. She nodded, lowering her ears. "Yeah. You can make the first attack, I don't mind." She murmured, bracing herself for attack.

Brightpaw wasn't sure it was a good thing they'd started off their mock battle with an awkward silence. Nonetheless, she immediately leapt, trying to land on Cloudskip's back. Since this wasn't a real fight, she kept her claws sheathed.

Cloudskip quickly dodged, almost being hit by the apprentice. She wasn't the best at defenses, but you can't beat what you can't catch. She knew she had to go at least a little easy in this. The warrior raised her tail and leapt to slash at Brightpaw's face. Claws sheathed, of course.
