Time to get to WORK WORK [p]

Moonfur padded over to @shiny22. "Time for you to learn some hunting," she said with a small smile. She was pretty excited to teach this apprentice- she had so much of the same energy she'd had as an apprentice. It would be nice for them to talk at least time to time when she became a warrior..

Firepaw skipped her way to Moonfur. 'Ah... Another new day of training!' she thought happily. "Hi Moonfur!" Firepaw said, ""So, what are we going to learn again?"

(nope, it's daddy said to be home by sundown, you mixed up that and peggy's next line XD)
"Hunting. I'll teach you the basics, and maybe we can go out and try and catch something!" Moonfur looked back at Firepaw every so often to make sure she was following. "First you can practice after I show you some, then you can try actually hunting,"

(also, with your post count, you don't have to worry about getting enough posts like I had to, you just needa do hunting/fighting/dencleaning/assessment lol)

Firepaw nodded in excitement. "Yes! Please, teach me the basics!" she said, her tail slashing rapidly, ""So I heard you crouch and hide yourself in the grass, and then what?"

Moonfur stopped at a clear area not too far from camp. "Well, the first thing we'll work on is that crouch. It's more than just going near the ground." she said. The warrior brought herself down to the ground, her fur brushing the short grass. She kept her head out so that it would just brush the tips of the grass as to not make a lot of sound. Making sure her tail was straight out, not waving around, she looked at a small stone on the ground and shot forward swiftly. There was hardly a sound as she clamped the pebble between her paws, looking up at Firepaw again. "Think you can do that?" she asked. "First, try to get into a similar crouching position."

Firepaw was nodding really fast now. "What, crouch? Okay!" she said, attempting to crouch down, but with her butt high. "Like this?"

[Moonfur]

Moonfur shook her head a tiny bit. "Bring your back side lower, and make sure your tail's basically parallel to the ground." she said. The warrior came down into her crouching position again, showing it so that Firepaw could model herself after her.

Firepaw listened to Moonfur, as she explained. "Oh, like this?" she asked lowering her back side and tail down.

Moonfur rose and looked over the apprentice, nodding in satisfaction. "Pretty good!" she said with a smile. Taking the small rock she'd used as a target for her demonstration, she moved it a short distance away from Firepaw. "Try moving towards it quietly, then leap to it and trap it in your paws like I did." she said. The younger she-cat was a quick learner- she'd improve quickly.

Firepaw watched Moonfur demonstrate. "Okay... I'll try!" she said, crouching back down again. She moved towards the rock quietly, not making a sound. Then she leaped up and landed on her face. She winced in pain. 'It's okay, that's my first try!' she encouraged herself, standing up again, 'I can do this...' She did the whole process again. Then she took the leap, and trapped the rock in her paws, but tumbled to the ground, with the rock in her paws. "Oof! Did I do it!" she asked Moonfur, jumping up and down.

Moonfur's whiskers twitched a little in amusement as the apprentice tried. "For your first tries, pretty good!" she praised her. Think about it, she knew she was probably right- Firepaw was a quick learner, and she was definitely determined. 'She'll be a great warrior..' the warrior thought. "Think you can try that on some actual prey now?"

Firepaw breathed heavily. 'Try it on real prey? Oh yes!' she thought excitedly. "Okay, I'll give it a shot!" she said, nodding her head to Moonfur. She ran, but stopped and turned around. "Moonfur, how can I find the prey?"

Moonfur laughed, padding over to the apprentice. "Smell the air." she said, doing it herself. "Tell me what you can scent." The she-cat could smell a few animals around, though because it was leaf-bare, there were less nearby. There were a few mice that she could smell and hear, and there was a faint trace of rabbit. Besides those, there were about a pawful more. She wanted to see what Firepaw could sense before letting her go off.

Firepaw scented the air as told by Moonfur. "I think I smell rabbit, and mouse!" she said, sniffing her nose, "I'll try hunting mouse..." She padded through the forest. A few minutes later, she returned to Moonfur with a mouse and a rabbit in her jaws. "Ith thith okay?" she said, her mouth muffled.

Moonfur smiled. "Yes, that's very good!" she said, pride in her voice. "How about we take those back to camp?" She started off to the clan camp, turning and walking backwards, laughing a bit. "We'll have some combat training next, then you'll be on your way to your assessment!"
