 Hazelclaw Hazelclaw was up early, very early. He thought the earlier the better for assessments, but almost felt bad for not telling the apprentice how early. He walked out of the warrior's den, when the sun was almost out. Turning to the apprentice's den he decided to whisper, "Shiningpaw?" hoping she would hear.

Shiningpaw's ears were sinsitive to her name, and they perked up as she heard it being called. She had woken up many imes in the past when she thought she heard her name, but this time it really was called. She made her way out of the den, thinking she had stayed asleep longer than Hazelclaw had said, but noticing the abundence of cats in the den still. It was still early. "Good morning Hazelclaw," she adressed, dipping her head.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw sniffed, "Alright, get a snack, then we're going." The tom left the area, and sat by the entrance. He didn't feel like eating that morning.

Shiningpaw nodded, quickly eating a small mouse before running off to meet Hazelclaw. "I'm ready," she announced with a small smile when she got within hearing range.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw blinked, "Alright, get three.. three different pieces of prey, then bring them back here and cover them just outside camp.. Then come find me and I'll assess your battling skills," he mewed.

Shiningpaw nodded and started out. She sniffed the air, almost imeadiatly picking out a rabbit. She chased after it, locating it eventually. She crouched down and pounced, killing it imeadiatly apon impact as she had been directed. She smiled, bringing it back outside camp an covering it. Rabbits were bigger than other prey, and she didn;t want to carry it around. She sniffed the air, scenting a mouse after a moment. she tracked it down, but had troubl locating it in the tall grass. When she did, she pounced and killed it imeadiatly. She located another mouse nearby and state after it, placing the mouse down within sight so she wouldn't loose it, and she pounced on the other mouse. With two mice in her mouth she headed back and covered it in the same spot as the rabbit. Looking up she found the sun had risen and it was bright out.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw was watching each catch from a safe distance. Once all three were in a safe area, he went out to a good area to train with battle, and waited for his apprentice.

Shiningpaw, pouncing forward to begin. It was a rather perdictable move, she knew, but it had a chance.

Shiningpaw landed softly, as she had been expecting a dodge. When Hazelclaw slashed out she jumped back.
