AlmondfireBrightpaw long since buried most of her sensitivity under a tougher mask. She found it was easier when she told herself Aloepaw and Almondfire's words didn't hurt. Their actions didn't hurt. That she could put everything they did behind her.... She did better when cats thought she was weird instead of... Wimpy, she supposed.Which lead her to this current situation. She'd found a centipede and it hung from her claws, where she dangled it in front of her face. She'd always been fascinated by bugs. No longer held back by her own inhibitions... She wondered what bugs tasted like. She stuck its head into her mouth, slurping it up and chewing it. Then she swallowed. She blinked, focusing her vision to a farther distance than what was immediately in front of her..... She was pretty sure that was Almondfire. Who had just seen her eating a bug..... Aaaaand was now staring at her. Brightpaw blinked and tilted her head. "What?"

Almondfire had just returned from a training session with Batpaw. She hated training the young cat since she had better things to do with her time in her opinion. But this was her punishment unless she wanted to be exiled. If she was ever exiled she hoped that she would be exiled with Aloepaw so they could plan about what they would do next. The spotted tabby warrior grumbled before sitting down.
Her eyes narrowed when they fixed on Brightpaw, her sister. Anger began to form in her. She caused her punishment by attacking her! But then Almondfire smirked when she saw Brightpaw eating something. A bug, a disgusting little bug. "Can't wait to tell Aloepaw."

Brightpaw had noticed her sister's anger, which seemed to dissipate into a more smirking, cocky attitude within Almondfire. She didn't really understand why. She never really understood Almondfire... Not really. She knew things intellectually, but she never really understood why her sister was the way she was.
She licked her lips to get the bug juice off where it'd smacked against her face a little, then she tilted her head. Clearly, Almondfire thought this was good enough for her own... 'Unique' brand of humor to report this incident to Aloepaw. She didn't really understand what was funny about this. "Why?" She asked simply. She didn't expect a straight answer, or any sort of answer that would satisfy her... The two of them hardly ever gave her real answers. Still, couldn't hurt to try.

Almondfire narrowed her eyes. "Dumb crybaby." She muttered under her breath. "I don't have to explain myself to you, your just a mousebrained, foxhearted apprentice." The spotted tabby then kept on laughing. Everyone would hate Brightpaw if Almondfire told most of the clan how the other she-cat ate a bug. No one would want to hang out with Brightpaw, not even Mudpaw.
"Your so childish Brightkit. Did you know that eating bugs isn't that popular, seriously go get a life and do something fun."

Brightpaw listened to Almondfire's words. The insults thrown her way and the laughter. She tilted her head in response. Then the reversion to referring her as a kitten. She shrugged in response. "I was curious. Also, you should really make up your mind if you want to talk down to me as a kit or an apprentice. I'd appreciate the consistency." She paused for a moment.
"Also, honestly... That just sounds like you're trying way too hard. You've already told me all of this before. Well, aside from the part about me being fox-hearted and the bit about bugs. It's usually just Willowpaw that hates me like she hates you and Aloepaw."

Almondfire narrowed her eyes.
"Does it look like I even care." She muttered. She knew that Brightpaw didn't care either. Almondfire had to find a new way to annoy her. One of those ways were hurting her best friend, Mudpaw. That was definitely an enjoyable fight, Almondfire had practically injured Mudpaw's tail, a bit more than she had done to Brightpaw as a kit.
"Willow-whine is stupid, she doesn't care about anyone. She only wants to get her way but thats never gonna happen. You say that I try too hard, you should see dumb Willow-whine and her ridiculous efforts. She's practically asking for trouble everytime she walks up to me."

Brightpaw shrugged.
"I think you care, you just don't want to tell me." She replied. She imagined Almondfire was probably trying to think up new ways to mess with her, since Brightpaw.. Honestly didn't react even remotely like how her vaguely sadistic siblings wanted her to. She was a bit too emotionally tired to keep... Getting worked up over every little thing Aloepaw and Almondfire did.
She sighed. "Well, it's really all our fault's she's the way she is. I don't think you'll admit it, but it's true. But... I have to admit you're right. I think she's going to kill herself trying to prove she's above you and Aloepaw." The concern was clear in her voice. She cleared her throat.
"But, it's not like you care. The only thing about that you might care about is the lost opportunity to kill Willowpaw yourself. Tell me I'm wrong."

Almondfire huffed before narrowing her eyes. She hated the 'new' Brightpaw. She really really despised her. It wasn't fun to do stuff to her because she never got reactions anymore. The spotted tabby didn't speak again just yet as she listened to Brightpaw's comment about Willowpaw.
"It's not my fault that she's so messed up that she couldn't handle a little teasing. Anyways no one would care if she died, she has no friends." Almondfire growled.
"Killing Willowpaw would get rid of most of my problems. She's weak and FireClan doesn't need her anyways."

((.... wow the hate directed at bright only increases with age))
Brightpaw figured she was incredibly frustrating to her sister, since nothing seemed to rile her up. Maybe she was frustrated deeper down, but she was good at masking it. Or maybe she just didn't care at all. It really was a question that Brightpaw wasn't sure she knew the answer to.
"Well, you do have some accountability since you did tease her. You made the choice." She tilted her head. "I would care." She answered honestly. "We're not friends. Willowpaw hates me. But I care." She shrugged. "It's really stupid. I really shouldn't care, I should hate Willowpaw, right?" Then she shrugged again. "But... No dice."
She tilted her head again. Then she shrugged. "Eh. No point in trying to convince you otherwise."

Almondfire narrowed her eyes.
"Oh maybe I went a teensy tiny bit too far but I don't regret anything I done. FireClan is a mess and it's fun watching Willow-whine get upset over dumb reasons anyways."
Then the spotted tabby laughed scornfully before huffing. "You actually care about that useless furball. You shouldn't because one day she's probably going to be at your throat."

Brightpaw figured that Almondfire admitting something even slightly was momentous progress. Yeesh, before it was... Nothing. Just stubbornness and pride. Still, she had no intentions of really trying to convince her sister of anything.
"Well... I'm pretty sure our messed up family is the exception. I think most cats are decent. Though, you'd probably call them weak." She replied, not commenting about her sister's sadism. It wouldn't get them anywhere.
Then she smiled sadly. "Yeah. She hates me just as much as she hates you and Aloepaw, really. I screwed up with her, that's for sure. She'd probably love to kill me herself. I mean, I'd be fine with that... But she'd get exiled likely, and I don't want that, so..." She shrugged.
"I can't control how I feel. I know I still care about her despite everything."

Almondfire huffed.
"Of course they are weak, they should be driven out before the strong cats become one of them." She growled.
"That's one thing that I actually like about Willow-whine. She hates you and Mudpaw. Not surprising since I know you don't actually care for anyone, you just make it seem like it."

Brightpaw didn't say anything for a short while. She sighed.
"Almondfire... Can I just.... Ask one thing? Why does everyone think I don't care?" She asked quietly. "I don't know what I did. I honestly don't."

Almondfire narrowed her eyes. Why would Brightpaw want her opinion, nobody ever cared about what Almondfire thought. "Because you seemed so emotionless earlier on... after I....."

Brightpaw's expression seemed pained. "... Sounds like I screwed up long before I ever knew to think about what my actions would do." She replied quietly.
