(Sorry I'll get to the cleaning thread this weekend.) Rosepaw nodded and sniffed the air. She didn't smell much of anything though, so she just shook her head with a frown. Either she would have trouble sniffing out prey, or there was none around.

(No worries, just figured I'd remind you that it needs to be done before you can become a warrior, since your posts are there lol. )
"It's okay, there's not much out right now. Warmer weather is coming, which will bring more prey," Reffoot said, trying to keep the apprentice from growing discouraged. "Your launch is good, you just need to practice your crouch and stalking. We'll do more hunting as the weather warms."

Rosepaw nodded. "Alright." she responded. "So what else will we learn today?" (Sorry for shortness, and thx for reminding me. I hadn't noticed the post coins.)

"Do you want to work on battle a little? We can, I just didn't want to throw all this information on you at once," the senior replied. She always hated when mentors took things too fast, she preferred to take things a little slower. After all, Rosepaw hadn't been an apprentice for very long, and this was only her first session.

Rosepaw thought for a moment before nodding. "Yes, that way I have more to practice with before the next training session." she reasoned.

Redfoot shrugged, that was fine with her. She looked at the sky, deciding that after teaching a couple moves to Rosepaw, they would head back to camp.
"I'm sure you've played 'warriors' with your friends as a kit. Are there any battle moves that you know?" she asked. She needing to assess where the apprentice was at before throwing moves at her. Redfoot was a very accomplished fighter, and had seen battle with IceClan, RockClan, and DeathClan. She was always happy to work on fighting.

Rosepaw nodded. She knew a few moves, but she also knew she probably executed them wrong. She turned to a nearby plant and struck out with a paw and then snuck back a little and pounced, a fighting pounce though, not a hunting one. The begining crouch was also a bit off.

Redfoot watched silently, mentally noting Rosepaw's awkward, off-balance crouch and an exposed belly.
"That was... Nice, but your crouch is off a little, and you left your belly too exposed during your pounce. An injury to that part of you will almost always be fatal," she said bluntly. "Your front strike was good, but it needs to be much faster if you want it to be effective."
She knew she could demonstrate, but she figured Rosepaw would learn more from actual instruction and criticism.
"Keep yourself lower to the ground on your crouch, and don't jump so high when you pounce. Speed it up," the senior instructed.

Rosepaw nodded, quickly striking at the bush before moving back a little, making sure she was as low as she could be before pouncing, also making sure the jump in the pounce wasn't so high as it was long.

Redfoot watched Rosepaw retry the move, and this time is was much better. She noticed that Rosepaw listened too all her directions, and smiled softly, pleased.
"That was much better. Well done, Rosepaw!" she praised. Redfoot looked up, her silver eyes scanning the sky. She decided it was time to head home. "Let's head back to camp."

Rosepaw nodded and followed the warrior back to camp.
