- Cherrypaw- (I'm in such a weird mood right now) Swanpaw was in an odd mood. She sometimes got like this when she was alone, though today it was even worse. Or better. She couldn't tell. Now, dancing wasn't something normal cats did. Swanpaw? She had found her true passion for it. But, no, she didn't just dance. Singing was not her talent, but that didn't stop her. She was alone, after all. She spun around in awkward circles, trying hard to stay on her back legs. She sang loudly at everything she spotted. Mostly she sang about reeds. She frolicked around, tail lashing to keep herself balanced. That's when she heard it. A loud, dream crushing, heart breaking cat sound. Oh CloudClan no.

Cherrypaw was exploring the territory, and she felt that this watery area was quite interesting. The air was muggy, and the ground stuck to her paws, but it was still quite pretty. Upon noticing Swanpaw, the bobtail said nothing, and instead watched the odd she-cat, not wanting to interupt her when she seemed so content.
"Swanpaw." Cherrypaw dipped her head, not commenting on what she'd just seen. "It's nice to see you, it's been a while." Cherrypaw flicked an ear, taking a look around the reeds. "How has your apprenticeship been?"

Swanpaw's ear tips burned. She flashed her an awkward smile, glad she hadn't mentioned... That. "Cherrypaw." dipped her head right back, slightly mockingly. It wasn't a mean mocking, she simply found it amusing how formal the she cat was being. I mean sure, they weren't friends or anything, but it was just so.... Polite. "Meh. I guess its been okay, boring, but okay. And you?" She questioned, shaking off her weirdness.

"..Interesting. There are very many peculiar cats in Fireclan." Cherrypaw personally felt that Swanpaw was one of those weird cats, though she refrained from saying so. "And a lot of them are very violent. My friend, Aloepaw, he's covered in wounds." Cherrypaw took a step forward, and then sat down, licking her paw and drawing it over her ear.

Swanpaw nodded in agreement, deciding she was in fact right. If Swanpaw would be less hostile, like she was now, maybe she would have met more of them already. "Aloepaw? I've met him. He seemed....." Swanpaw trailed off. She didn't want to offend Cherrypaw, so she refrained from saying 'an annoying tom who needs to suck it up and deal with his problems.' Instead, she offered her a petty shrug.

"I know how he can be." Cherrypaw's eyes glimmered in amusement. The first time they'd met, he'd tried to make fun of her for her bobbed tail, but she didn't allow that to get to her.
"A lot of cats around here are like that, but they're good cats, just with some issues." Cherrypaw mewed, being as optimistic as she always was; being kind to other cats had always proved to work for her

Swanpaw smiled, flicking her ears lightly. "Yeah... He wasn't that bad, but, well, what you said." She sat down, wrapping her long tail neatly around her paws.
"Do you think I'm like that?" Swanpaw questioned, genuinely curious. She wasn't in a sour mood, like she usually as, so she wouldn't take offence to it. Maybe she needed some hard criticism.

Cherrypaw looked over the pale she-cat with narrowed eyes, thinking about her question. Swanpaw seemed to be very different than when they'd talked as kits, and she didn't know if it was due to a change in age, or simply a change in mood.
"You seem like it." Cherrypaw mewed carefully, her thoughts flashing to Thunderpaw for a moment, but she ignored the building jealousy. "I mean.. You're nice to cats when they show you tolerance, but you also push away cats that could otherwise get along with you."

Swanpaw didn't move, simply nodding her head slowly. She knew Cherrypaw was right, though, lately she had been changing. Friendliness came just a little more naturally than it used to. "I know." She stated, her voice showing no annoyance. She was a little, though, everything ticked her off.
Swanpaw couldn't help but think of Thunderpaw for a moment. Is that how he felt about her too? She hoped not. She didn't want to ruin their friendship.

Cherrypaw pushed away her negative thoughts. Of course Thunderpaw had other friends, and there was no reason for him to ever see anything special in her. Besides, she always had Aloepaw, if nothing else.
"It's up to you if you want to change or not.." Cherrypaw continued, speaking coolly and fluidly. "But it doesn't seem like you're living a very happy life, even if you have some friends." Cherrypaw saw Swanpaw as vulnerable, insecure, and afraid.

Swanpaw scowled at her next words, tail tip thumping against the grass below her. "Of course I'm happy, just because my personality isn't as shiny as yours doesn't mean my life is terrible." Swanpaw was being honest, she was often happy. She was content right where she was. Kind of. Mostly. Anyway, who was this cat to judge her? She could tell just by her posture and expression something was on her mind, bugging her. She wanted to mention it, but she quickly remembered she didn't really care.

"My apologies, then, for misjudging you." Cherrypaw shrugged, seemingly unphased by Swanpaw's outburst. On the inside, Cherrypaw was furious to think that Thunderpaw wanted to be close to such a vain and miserable cat.
"Don't assume that I have a perfect personality." Cherrypaw chided, her eyes narrowed. "I'm just average, in my eyes. There aren't any cats dying to get to know me." Cherrypaw spoke neatly, her words clipped and short.

Swanpaw rolled her eyes. Cherrypaw certainly didn't sound sincere, nor look it. She eyed her for a few moments, observing her expression. Swanpaw had never been great at reading other cats, but she was certainly learning.
"I never said you did." She raised her eyebrows, biting back a sharp retort. This cats personality was far from perfect. 'I wonder why'. Instead of saying what she was thinking, Swanpaw simply remained silent for a few moments. "Maybe if you said what you really wanted to say, they would." She mused. Swanpaw took every chance she got to speak her mind, though lately she had been practicing refraining herself.

"I say what I want." Cherrypaw remained calm. Even if she didn't agree with everything that Swanpaw was saying, and how she was saying it, that didn't mean she had to get nasty and rude. "I just don't say everything that I feel, it isn't as if I'm lying."
She preferred to be polite to cats she didn't know well, and save her real emotions for cats that she was close with. It would make her more well-liked that way, and give her to opportunity to get to know more cats than she would if she always said what she felt.

Swanpaw shrugged. She had nothing else to say on the topic, knowing it would simply get them into an argument. "So... Anything interesting going on in your life right now?" She changed the subject, flicking her ears forward curiously.
(Sorry, short)
