[/i] she thought to herself. Seeing that the younger cat had begun to head back, she quickly ran back to their first spot, her long legs helping with the work.
"Good work!" Moonfur mewed as the two arrived. Looking at Firepaw, she shook her head, a hint of a smile on her face. "Hey, be nice. she said before returning to her original position. However, she was proud of the apprentices' catches. It had been some time since her last apprentice, so she was glad she was doing okay.
"All right, now that that's done, we're going to have the fighting part of your assessment." the warrior said, glancing between the two of them. "I think it's best to see you both practice fighting each other. Claws sheathed, of course." There was always the possibility of them getting hurt, but she was pretty sure neither would do it intentionally. "Is that fine with you two?"

"Fine with me," Shiningpaw said flatly. She was so ready to be a warrior, she didn't care how her assessment was completed, as long as it was actually completed. She looked at Firepaw with raised kitty-brows, and waited for some sort of response.

She studied the other apprentice. Shiningpaw was much older, which gave her an experience edge. Shiningpaw was very fast, but she wasn't sure of Firepaw's speed or strength. She suddenly wished she had paid more attention to the other apprentice.

Firepaw was jumping excitedly. "Yeah!" she yowled, "I'm ready!" She looked at Shiningpaw when she raised her kitty-brows at her. "Are you excited? I am!" Firepaw said enthusiastically. 'What are Shiningpaw's weaknesses and strengths?' she thought, 'Moonfur told me that when you battle, you need to learn about the enemy first.'

(oh yay we're gonna battle, oh poop here goes my power playing -_- Tell me when im power playing, i'll slap myself in the face 100 times)

"Well then," Moonfur stepped back a tail length or two as to not get in the way. "If you're both ready, you may begin." The warrior took on a more relaxed position, but she was prepared to move just in case. She looked between Shiningpaw and Firepaw, watching them both. Shiningpaw had the experience of being older, and Firepaw had combat training not too long ago. However, Firepaw was pretty fast on her paws- that had been evident when they'd started training. "Remember, claws sheathed." She would stop them when it was enough.

Firepaw nodded. "Okay! Let's get this battle started!" She crouched and attempted to dive straight towards Shiningpaw and take her to the ground.

(sorry, I've been on spring break and not had a ton of internet access. I'm not my phone, replies will be short.)

"Okay, let's do this," she mewed. "Good luck!"

Shiningpaw circled the other cat, studying her movement. Shiningpaw thought that she was faster than Firepaw, but that Firepaw may be stronger. She circled around to the front, then dashed forward, sending a blow to Firepaw's shoulder, then quickly slinking back, her body low to the ground.

Firepaw let Shiningpaw hit her. She leaped behind Shiningpaw and before they met each other's eyes, she launched herself towards Shiningpaw and tried to pin her to the ground.

Shiningpaw wasn't quite fast enough to get out of Firepaw's grasp, but she knew how to get away. The golden she-cat relaxed her body, then began raking Firepaw's exposed belly with her back paws. In a real battle, an injury to the belly would be fatal, but Shiningpaw of course kept her claws sheathed.

She kicked and kicked, trying to get Firepaw off of her.

Firepaw narrowed her eyes, getting kicked in the belly. She let a few kicks hit her in the belly, then jumped off of Shiningpaw. She landed softly, crouching ready for another attack. She sprinted towards Shiningpaw, ready to pounce.

Shiningpaw grinned briefly, glad that her plan had worked. It was a short-lived grin, however, because Firepaw was now rushing towards her. The golden she-cat dodged Firepaw's pounce, rushing behind the other apprentice. Shiningpaw rushed towards her opponent from behind, attempting to slide into Firepaw and knock her over.

Firepaw looked behind her, sliding and hitting the ground, caused by Shiningpaw's slide. She got up as quickly as she can, trying to avoid any attack Shiningpaw was planning to do. She leaped upwards, trying to confuse Shiningpaw to where she landed. Then she landed behind her and tried to pin Shiningpaw to the ground.

Shiningpaw let Firepaw pin her, once again. The golden apprentice was a little confused, it seemed that Firepaw kept attempting the same move. Shiningpaw needed another way to beat the same move. She thought for a brief moment, then had an idea.

She curled into a ball, trying to make herself as small as possible, then rolled underneath Firepaw. When she was nearly free, she attempted to send a blow with a rabbit kick to Firepaw's chest.

Firepaw knew what she was doing. She turned around quickly, so that Shiningpaw's kick wouldn't hit her chest, which would be painful. She let the kick hit her back, then confused the apprentice by crouching down, trying to make the other apprentice think that Firepaw was going to do the same move over and over again. She waited for a reaction before she striked.

Shiningpaw waited for Firepaw to make a move. She expected her to do the same thing again, so she crouched low, ready to spring out of the way. Her eyes flickered over to Moonfur, wondering how long they were supposed to do this for. She quickly looked back to the other apprentice, waiting for her next move.

Firepaw smiled when Shiningpaw got confused.
She attempted to do the attack towards Shiningpaw.
She would probably dodge the attack and spring out of the way.
Firepaw aimed at the direction where the apprentice would most likely dodge the attack.
