Firepaw limped into the medicine cats' den. She collapsed and winced as pain rushed through her body. She was covered in scratches and blood. "Hello? Anyone here?" she said painfully, "I'm really in bad pain..." This happened when she encountered with another cat named Swanfrost, her worst enemy. When anyone said Swanfrost's name, Firepaw would get really angry. 'I hate her!' she thought angrily. But now she shouted it out loud. "I HATE her!!!" She covered her mouth when she realised that another cat was staring at her.
(For Grayshade , Honeyfur , Sparkpaw )

Sparkpaw had nearly collapsed with exhaustion trying to carry his friend all the way back to camp. Her blood soaked through the back of his pelt from when he had been carrying her. Luckily Firepaw had come back from being unconscious, and was able to limp into the medicine den on her own. Still, the blood-spattered apprentice looked at his friend with intense worry. He ran his tail over Firepaw's back as she spoke, trying to keep her calm. She had already been walking, getting more excited would only pump more blood through her veins and make her bleed even more than she already was. "Grayshade!" Sparkpaw called out, "Honeyfur! Please, get over here fast!"

'Wha, what happened?' she tried to speak, but couldn't bring out any sound from her mouth. 'Did I faint again?' She was confused and suddenly remembered that she fainted because of the hard fall to her injured belly. She limped towards the medicine cats den, blood dripping to the ground. 'Is too much blood coming out from me?'
Firepaw entered the medicine cats den and laid down in relief. "Do you think I'm okay?" she said, finally getting to speak, "Because I don't feel good..." Why was Sparkpaw doing this to her? He didn't have to be so nice, because she could take care of herself. 'Sparkpaw, thank you...'

This was certainly not how she expected her first solo case to go. Unfortunately Honeyfur seemed to be nowhere around and Flickerpaw was on her own. She emerged from the crack in the medicine cat den walls, approaching the two apprentices with wide eyes. They were older than her and she tried not to let it intimidate her. The calico put on her best business face and straightened her little legs.
"Right, what has been going on?" She demanded matter-of-factly, needing as much information as possible. The female seemed hurt, but a quick glance over the male showed he was either unharmed or a very good actor. "You," She flicked her tail at Sparkpaw. "There are some cobwebs in the corner, fetch them for me and press them on her wounds. We need to stop the bleeding." With the order given she disappeared back into the herb storage, returning a few moments later with comfrey roots and horsetail in her mouth.

Sparkpaw, although very worried, managed to nod reassuringly to Firepaw. "You'll be fine, the medicine cat's will know what to do," he cooed, although inside he was panicking, wondering when said medicine cats would get there, praying to CloudClan it was before anything even worse could happen to his friend. The orange tom sat up attentively when a cat, another apprentice, much younger than himself, approached. He had never seen her before, but she had the smell of herbs on her. Did Honeyfur take on an apprentice? he knew that Grayshade had been missing for awhile. "Are you the only one here?" Sparkpaw asked, panicking edging into his mew. She's so young...
"We were out hunting and I got stuck in a rabbit hole and Firepaw helped me but then..." the apprentice had been speaking at rapid speed, his words suddenly coming to a halt, "there wasn't any time--I... I don't know exactly what happened. But she just started bleeding," he could feel her blood against his pelt, making it stick in reddish-brown clumps. So much blood... He shook his head. He needed to focus. Firepaw seemed conscious, he nodded to her, hoping she could explain the rest while he raced away to find cobwebs. Sparkpaw came back with cobweb wrapped loosely around his tail was well as a large clump held gently in his mouth. He looked to Flickerpaw for guidance.

(FINALLY A MEDICINE CAT IS ACTIVE IN FIRECLAN and yeah imma on my iPad, soooo)
Firepaw saw Sparkpaw placing cobweb on her belly. She groaned slowly in pain, making more blood squeeze out. "I'm okay... right?" she asked, with a raspy ill voice. Maybe Swanfrost and Brightwing injured me too hard...

Flickerpaw snapped her teeth in Sparkpaw's direction, insulted by his words. Honeyfur was absent most of the time, so like it or not she was all he had. She wanted to threaten to put poison in his next meal, but that didn't seem like a very medicine cat thing to do, so she held her tongue. The calico waited as Sparkpaw pressed on the cobwebs, tutting slightly at the sloppy work. "People don't just start bleeding," Flickerpaw said in exasperation. "Where did the wounds come from? How did it happen?" She needed more information if Firepaw was to be treated properly.
The medicine cat apprentice began chewing up her herbs, spitting them onto Firepaw's wounds when they were softened into a pulp. She pressed it into the wounds, thoughtfully analyzing them. "A cat did this." She remarked to herself, noting the claw marks. "Did you get into a fight?" She looked at Fireclaw with interest, wondering if she'd been defending the border or doing something else. Though in no mood for dramatics she rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Well no actually, your stomach has been torn open. You're quite lucky your entrails haven't become your outtrails at this point."
She glared at Sparkpaw, still wanting answers. "You, more cobwebs. Cover the herbs tightly."

Sparkpaw's ears flattened apologetically, "sorry--I didn't mean to offend you," his attention was quickly brought back to Firepaw with wide, worried eyes. "Of course you'll be fine," his voice cracked, pleading for his words to be true, "look, a medicine cat's here now. Just sit still and let her help you, everything's gonna be okay." He tried to sound comforting, but Sparkpaw had never been a good actor.
The orange apprentice felt queazy looking at all the blood, closing his eyes tightly as Flickerpaw began pressing gross herb pulp into the wounds. "She had said something about Brightwing..." Sparkpaw offered the little information that he knew. He wasn't sure that if the warrior had done this, but the way Firepaw had talked about Brightwing--well, lets just say that he wouldn't be all that surprised.
"Yes ma'am!" quickly he ran back to the cobweb store, spotting a sturdy looking stick. Thinking on his feet, Sparkpaw took the stick into his jaws and wrapped the cobwebs around it. When he came back he began to quickly slip the cobwebs off and pushed the stick towards Firepaw, "I thought she could bite on it--I heard once that birthing queens have to hold sticks in their mouth because it's really painful," he helped Flickerpaw apply the cobwebs as he spoke, "I know she's not giving birth or anything, but this looks so painful..."

Firepaw winced and scrunched her face in pain. "Hey! I'm not giving birth!" she said angrily, then starting to calm down. We didn't get into a fight... Swanfrost and Brightwing attacked me and left me like this." she said. "It was okay for a few days... but today, it totally burst out and killed me."

Flickerpaw let out a hmph at Sparkpaw's apology but let it go. She had other priorities, like the care of Firepaw. Her ears pricked as both apprentices noted Brightwing, and then Swanfrost. She knew the warriors but not personally and was curious as to why they would have attacked a clanmate. "Enough for now, but I'd like for you to take this matter to Oceanstar. I can't make you of course, but the situation is a serious one." If warriors were attacking their clanmates then the leader needed to know and steps had to be taken.
Flickerpaw rolled her eyes as Sparkpaw tried to assist. She held in a chuckle as Firepaw batted the stick away, nodding her head in approval. "Queens giving birth suffer from contractions, periodic waves of pain that are difficult to deal with," she told him bluntly. "What your friend is feeling is much different. A biting stick would be used if she were in incredibly tense pain and I was concerned she was going to bite her tongue off and bleed to death. That is the purpose of the stick." At least Sparkpaw could learn something from the experience.
Flickerpaw resisted the urge to slap Firepaw. "A few days!?" She raged, lashing her tail. "If you're wounded, you come to me immediately. Your wounds would be nowhere near this bad if you had. What are you, an idiot? You're far from immortal." Apprentices were supposed to have at least some smarts, and she hoped responsibility. Firepaw had been stupid and prideful doing what she did.

Sparkpaw nodded in agreement. He trusted that his mentor would know what to do, after all Sparkpaw sure didn't. He didn't want to think that there were cats in this clan that could do this like this, but now he knew that there were and it shook him just to think about it. The orange apprentice pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind, urging himself to focus on Firepaw.
Sparkpaw nodded, blushing a bit. "I just thought--," his voice died off, both because he was embarrassed and because he didn't want to distract Flickerpaw from her patient. He quickly picked up the stick and moved it mover to the side so that it wouldn't get in the way. "Sorry," he murmured bashfully.
The apprentice's fur bristled at Flickerpaw's tone. "Hey!" his eyes narrowed, and his voice was much more commanding and protective than it had been a moment ago, "this is hardly the time to be yelling at her. Not that she doesn't deserve a bit of scolding," he gave Firepaw an apologetic glance out of the corner of his eye, knowing that it might've been hard on her to seek help--but also knowing that she would've been in less pain if this had been dealt with earlier, "but we need to focus on keeping her alive right now!" there was a fearful edge to his voice.

Firepaw hissed when Flickerpaw yelled at her. "Well I didn't know!" she snarled, then backing away wincing in pain of letting out too much of her voice. "Just make me better... okay? I didn't know that it would be this much." 'Geez! This medicine cat knows how to handle cats.' she thought.

- Firepaw please reread my post, Flickerpaw did not slap her - "It's fine," Flickerpaw soothed. "You were just trying to help." At least she could admire that in Sparkpaw. She gave him a nod of thanks anyhow and stepped away from Firepaw, happy with the care she'd received. There was little more she could do at this point except order her to rest; though she couldn't force it sadly.
"If I decide it's the time, then it is the time," Flickerpaw replied smoothly, flicking her tail. "She's fine now. She needs rest and no leaving camp for the next week, but she's hardly dying. Which means I am perfectly able to scold her if I please." Particularly when Firepaw was being so ridiculous about it. "And I'd refrain from giving orders to your medicine cat as well."

Sparkpaw shrunk back. "Sorry," he mewed, giving Firepaw a doubtful look. She didn't look much better, but he knew that Flickerpaw wasn't a miracle worker and couldn't just get rid of Firepaw's wounds in a heartbeat, "I was just worried," he murmured, knowing that even if Flickerpaw was younger he should've shown her more respect. he looked over Firepaw again. It did look like her wounds were all covered, and the blood scent was begining to be overtaken by the scent of herbs. "She really is going to be okay, right?"

Firepaw lifted her head when Sparkpaw apologized. "It's okay mouse brain. And I'm okay." She rested her head back down towards the fluffy moss bedding. "Has the bleeding stopped?" she asked, now with a weaker and raspier voice.
