Two Treeclan Loners [Gale]

Snowy made her way through the field towards where she had her den for the night. She had been traveling a lot, so she hadn't acctually made a concrete den in all the time she had been a loner, but she made do. Carrying a mouse in her mouth, she stopped suddenly at a familiar-ish scent. A cat who had lived in Treeclan at one point but... there was more than that. She recognized the scent itself. She made her way in that direction curiously, finding a cat she remembered from kithood, Sun-kit or paw? Well it didn't really matter. The cat had been named a warrior by then, and apparently left the clan, as scent be told.

Gale liked his new name. It didn't... Quite feel like it was truly his, but he was sure he'd feel better about it later. It was better than running around calling himself 'buddy' or something stupid like that. He was wandering around the plains when something caught his eye. A cat he... Well, he didn't think he knew her. But then again... Did he really know...? He turned his head to see a she-cat with a snowy white pelt. He blinked. "Hello there."

Snowy wasn't sure what Sunheart had changed his name to, as surely he hadn't kept his original name. She sat down and placed the mouse she had been holding gently at her feet. "Hello. What are you doing out all alone?" she asked, a pang of nostalgia hitting her as she repeated the words she had said to kits so many times. She wasn't sure how the question should have been phrased; 'Why did you leave the clan? How are the cats back home?' The one she had asked had come the most naturally to her.

Gale tilted his head as the she-cat lay down her prey, and greeted him. He shrugged. "What is anyone doing in these parts alone?" He asked, answering her question with another question. From the way she was looking at him... He got the feeling she knew something he didn't it was a bit annoying. He cleared his throat roughly. "I'm Gale. You?" He asked. Maybe he'd find out what she knew if he continued the conversation... Or maybe the gaze would fade and it he'd just imagined it all.

Snowy's eyes widened in momentary surprise. "So you completely changed your name? I just go by Snowy now." she said, noticing that there was something up with the cat infront of her. She nudged the mouse over towards Gale. "You want some of this?" she offered. Sure she had caught hit to preferably eat, but she also wouldn't mind hunting another. They were easier to catch in the field than back in Treeclan, and she liked hunting.

Okay, so apparently Gale used to have a completely different name. He figured this cat who knew him apparently, used to have a name. Likely Snow with something added on. Then she offered her mouse to him. He blinked. "Ah... Sure." He bent to take a small bite out of the mouse. He swallowed and figured he'd just tell you. "Alright. I'm going to be honest. You seem like you know me, but I don't know who you are. Not really."

Snowy tilted her head, completely lost at the idea. How could Gale not remember her? Sure in the clans she hadn't been that intresting of a cat, but still, did Gale have amnesia? "Do you remember Treeclan at all?" she asked, her eyes narrowing as she tested the ideal.

[Galelight]

Gale frowned. ".... Treeclan? You mean, those clanners in the forest...?" He shook his head. "Nah. Nothing. Don't remember much of anything before I woke up without a name." He explained. Though, he supposed this meant he used to be one of those clanners in the forest. With her, he presumed. Probably explained her name change.

"Oh..." she responded. "Well you- we- used to be a part of Treeclan. I'm not sure how long ago you left because I left first, but I do believe you had a mate. Memory loss would make sense as to why you left." she responded with a small tilt of the head.

[Galelight]

Gale tilted his head. ".... Well, I can't really confirm if your facts are right... I don't know if I should trust your word." He told her bluntly. "But... Yes. I left because I didn't know where I woke up was where I belonged."

Snowy nodded. "That is true. You shouldn't trust anyone out here." she said with a frown, remembering the betrayal of the cat she had left the clan for. "So it's up to you to tell if the story's real, but you have my word that it is."

[Galelight]

Gale sighed. "... Do I really want to find out what memories I'm missing? What if I don't like what I find?" He asked her, not that he really knew if she could answer him properly.

Snowy laughed, a slight bitterness that was new joining the sound. "Clan cats are spoiled. What you'll find in your past can't be worse that this, although..." she said, her voice trailing off before she continued speaking, "Memories only remove themselves if they have a reason, that's what I believe. A physical trauma is more likely, but if something happened and your mind itself is blocking the memories? No, you don't want to remember."

[Galelight]

Gale listened to what Snowy had to say. He shrugged. "I don't think that's the case. I woke up with head trauma." He remembered waking up with that pounding pain in his head, finding his head was a bit... Leaky. Then he'd left the forest. He shrugged. "It's just the case if I want to try and find out who I used to be."

Snowy nodded. "Well I believe you should try. No matter what, you were a good cat. You may have had some issues, but you had a good life and I think it would be worth it." she responded with a sad smile. She wanted to return to that life at times, but there was always something there to stop her. Something holding her back. "But then again, who knows if you can trust me?"
