@rosa
Redfoot woke early, and ate a small mouse. She was excited, after all, today was the day that Rosepaw received her final assessment. Redfoot always loved assessments, it was rewarding to see everything her apprentices had learned put together. She thought back to her assessment, and of Prairiemist so many moons ago. She remembered how proud she felt in completing the tasks her mentor had taught her.
She smiled as she heard approaching footsteps, and sent a quick prayer up to CloudClan for today to be a good day, or for Rosepaw to be safe.

Rosepaw had also already eaten. She was about to become, or at least take a test to become, a warrior! Who could sleep at that thought. She greeted her mentor with an excited smile, "Good morning Redfoot, how's your day been so far?"

"Good morning!" Redfoot greeted, more chipper than usual. "It's been good. Are you excited?" Of course, Redfoot already knew the answer to the question, but she asked anyway.
Redfoot stood up, and flicked her tail to head away from camp. She thought about how she would handle this assessment, and decided with hunting first. Redfoot lead Rosepaw deeper into FireClan territory, then stopped. This was a good place.

Rosepaw nodded slowly. "Yeah. I guess I am." she responded. Though she was usually unnaturally perky, she was never really "excited" about anything, as everything got about the same reaction.

"Good. Okay, we're going to start with hunting. I need you to return with two pieces of prey, each of a different type. You can go anywhere in the territory, you have as much time as you need. Try to hurry as much as you can, though. I may be in a different place when you return, so you'll have to track me down," she said, trying to give directions as simply as possible.
"Good luck, Rosepaw. And.. go!"
Redfoot wouldn't follow the apprentice, she would move around the territory. Turning Rosepaw loose would not only demonstrate her hunting ability, but also her tracking and sense of direction around the territory.

Rosepaw nodded, opening her mouth to hunt down a mouse first, She caught the scent trail easily and followed the small creature, making sure her stance was right before she pounced, catching her first piece of prey easily. She then made her way over to a near by rabbit she had scented when hunting down the mouse and sniffed the air again. It wasn't long before she pounced, struggling to keep the rabbit down long enough to snap its neck, although she did with a slight sense of relief. She picked up the rabbit and the mouse and made her way to where Redfoot had stood before and made her way across the scent trail, keeping an eye out for broke twigs. It was hard and she had to back track a few times, but eventually she did fine her mentor and placed the mouse and the rabbit in front of her.

Redfoot had left and found a quiet spot, doing her best to leave only a slight trail. She was very pleased when Rosepaw found her, and she gave the apprentice a small, approving nod.
"Well done, Rosepaw," she praised softly. "Now, it's time for battle."
Redfoot never gave much instruction for the battle portion of the assessment, she found that an element of surprise was more effective. She turned away from the younger she-cat, her body appearing relaxed. She looked around for a moment, then thought about the best way to beat Rosepaw. Redfoot was much larger and stronger than Rosepaw, but Rosepaw was probably faster. She thought for one moment more, then quickly turned around, and launched herself at the other cat. Of course, her claws were sheathed.

Rosepaw was curious as to how the assessment would work, and as Redfoot did seem to be thinking, she was ready to move when he was done. Apparently not fast enough though as the shock of the suddenness of change slowed her down. She had moved to the side, but was still hit partially with the attack in the shoulder. Crouching down she prepared for the next hit rather than attacking back.

Redfoot crouched also, giving Rosepaw the chance to make the next move. A small smile rested on the-cat's lips, she loved battle. Her crouch was balanced, perfected over moons of battles and experience. She flicked her black tail, a signal for Rosepaw to make a move.

Rosepaw stayed in the defensive position for a moment before pouncing, but it was an obvious pounce, and she knew someone a mile away could have probably seen it coming, much less a fox length.

Redfoot easily dodged the simple pounce, a little surprised that Rosepaw had tried something so obvious. Her mouth tightened, in thought.
"Show me a rabbit kick with your back feet," she instructed, standing up.

Rosepaw nodded and exicuted the move well enough, though it took a bit effort on the coordination front. (Sorry this is so short, mobile.)

Redfoot nodded curtly. She could tell that battle wasn't Rosepaw's strong point, but the apprentice had done very well during the hunting portion of the assessment. Redfoot narrowed her eyes, thinking.
"Show me two more battle moves, your choice," she commanded. She stood openly, playing "dummy warrior" for Rosepaw to execute the moves on.

Rosepaw was apparently very quiet that day as she simply nodded, yet again. She chose a simple move to begin first, a simply front strike, and then she chose a back kick. It was also simple and for some reason it was the move she found easiest beside the front strike.

"Good, now get your kill and let's head back to camp. I have a couple questions I need to ask you before we're done," she said, flicking her tail. Redfoot waited patiently for Rosepaw to get her mouse and rabbit. The senior could tell that Rosepaw excelled in hunting, but needed to work significantly on battle. That didn't mean that she failed her assessment, though. It just was a side note.
