OOC: My cat's name is Loki XD

Beast was crouched down the meadow, further away from his home than he would have liked. But it never hurt to explore, right? His eyes were fixed on a robin pecking at the ground before him. Closer...closer...his amber eyes were almost glowing with hunger. Beast wasn't the best fighter. He wasn't super speedy. But he was at least a great hunter. He knew he could get this bird. His mouth was practically watering with anticipation.

Birds seemed to be everywhere, and their chirping was nearly driving Loki insane. The sat on the ground, flicking his tail impatiently. It wasn't the best day to be around trees, apparently.

But then, as soon as Loki was about to get up and leave, he spotted another cat. It was white and brown, perhaps another tom from the looks of him. Loki stood up, but he saw that the cat was hunting a robin. Should he scare the robin, let the cat get it, or catch it himself? Two of them seemed mean, but Loki wasn't the nicest cat. Maybe he would pull a prank on this cat.

He climbed a nearby tree and easily found a bird for himself. He caught it, then placed it on the tree, starting a pile. Before long, he had a pile of three birds. He picked up his catch and jumped from tree to tree so that he was over the other cat. Loki waited for the perfect moment then, oh oops, he thought as he dropped the birds on top of the other cat. He smiled, that would give an amusing reaction.

Beast ended up jumping backwards and letting out a surprised screech, his fur all fluffed up. His robin flew away, cawing in surprise. Beast's fur stayed fluffed up, amber eyes wide. He looked half-frightened and half absolutely adorable. He looked up slowly, then his puffy tail flicked. "Um...hi," He muttered, knowing he looked like an idiot.

(He's orange and white, and looks a bit like a panther in the face. He's definitely a hunter. Loves hunting the moment he's outside! Thank God he has the sense to stay away from deer XD
Awww, they sound cute! Do they play together at all?)

Loki let out a quiet laugh at the reaction of the cat below. Okay, that was definately worth it. The reaction was priceless.

"Hey there, marshmellow. Are you okay?" The question was basically a rhetorical one. Loki began his descend from the tree, branch after branch he came down like a smooth river, until he landed softly on the grass in front of the spotted tom. He gave a (sexy neh neh) smile and sat down. Then, he pushed a dead bird over to the cat. "These are fresh if you want one."

((i dont think cats know what a marshmellow is. oh well *lets it slide*))

[Aww, my other cat Sarah does that! She hates her two brothers, Loki and Kai. She hisses at them every single time they get close]

Beast forced his fur to lay flat, grooming it firmly. He looked back at Loki once more in surprise as he was offered food. "Oh...sure," He said. "Thank you." He dipped his head kindly. Despite having the living fluff scared out of him, he wasn't angry. He was a calm little cat, and it took a lot to make him angry. He definitely had the wrong name. He stood up and smiled. "Nice prank."

Loki was warming up to this cat quickly. Not many cats trusted him, and this one ate the offered food without hesitation. It was kinda nice that someone trusted you, but it was a sappy feeling that Loki didn't care for too much.

Then, the cat also appreciated his prank. Or at least, he was cool with it. Not many cats liked his pranks either. He was cool with this cat.

"Had loads of time to think of it," Loki told him. He always had time. He had nothing but time. Being a loner was pretty boring, since you're always alone. But it was pretty fun to meet other loners and do things like this to them. "So are you a loner as well?"

[Beast]

"DeathClanner. But I'm pretty much a loner, really. DeathClan isn't much, really," Beast admitted. He finished up the last of his meal and relaxed. This cat didn't seem so bad. "My name is Beast. You?"

Loki wrinkled his nose at the word Deathclan. Sure, he might fit in well with that pack of rouges, but he still had some feelings. They didn't have any. They weren't sappy like he was. He tried so hard to act tough.

It was a surprise that the new cat gave his name. Most cats kept their names to themselves, for whatever reason. Loki sat up a bit straighter, and looked down at Beast. It wasn't an 'im better than you' pose, but more of a 'hey, listen to this' pose. "I'm Loki," he said, not unkindly.

((ooh double negative. i've seen those in books a lot. i think it means he said it a bit kindly, but not too kindly. i've always wanted to use that))

Beast dipped his head in respect. "Nice to meet you," His amber eyes were full of trust. He liked Loki so far. "Do you go around playing pranks on cats often?"

[Yaaaaas, double negatives. I also write for fun quite a lot, so double negatives sometimes pop up in my work lol]

Loki nodded. His pranks were for every cat to enjoy. Most cats just got mad at him, but that was their problem, not his.

"It's usually my brother I pull them on, but he hasn't been around," Loki told Beast.

[Beast]

[Ahhhh cats are amazing! It's funny cause I go to a job where they all love dogs, and I'm just here like, "I like cats"]

Beast felt sorry when he heard that. He liked this cat and immediately felt horrible for him. But he wasn't sure if Loki wanted his sympathy or not. His good guy side won. "I'm sorry to hear that," He said. "Are you searching for him? I can try to help you."
Or, maybe Beast was being insensitive. Was Loki's brother dead? He felt embarrassment rise up in him. He wanted to help Loki with the best intentions but wasn't sure about the state of his brother.

Loki was glad that someone, other than his sister, cared. But still, he said, "I don't think there would be any use searching for him. We went our seperate ways almost a year ago, and I bet he thinks I'm dead, if he's not dead himself."

Beast nodded sadly. "Well, still, I'm really sorry. Did he pull pranks too?"

"You could stop at five or six stores. Or just one." Loki said mechanically.

((lol, just kidding))

Loki shook his head. "Nah, he wasn't that much of a prankster. He did make jokes, but not too often. He was more of the one to laugh with everyone else when something funny happened."

"Maybe I want to shop at SEVEN STORES GOSH DO YOU EVER CONSIDER MY FEELINGS?!" Beast yelled

"Sounds like a great guy. I know you say he might be dead but I'll keep my eyes out for him," Beast promised. "I think he could still very much be alive."
